I’ve been staring at my character sheet for a while, mainly because I was trying to figure out the math on how much XP exactly I needed before my next level up, and before I got my class selection.
I was at [236/3400] I only needed 3164 XP points before I levelled up. The math was easier than I thought, but I decided to check it over and over again in my head just in case I got it wrong, I wasn’t good at mental maths in the old world, but with a better brain.
That was actually weird to think about, my brain was just objectively better, it computed faster, it was like getting a better CPU, I could do more calculations, it gave me better control of my body, my reaction speeds improved.
That was impossible in my old world, at least not with some deep meditation and a lifestyle change, but here, if you just thought about putting some numbers into some random and somewhat arbitrary thing, you became objectively better,
That didn’t even apply solely to mind, if you just thought about being stronger, provided you had gained enough arbitrary points to get the points used to make any stat higher, you could just be stronger, or faster, or tougher.
If the real world had levels and stats the world would be a much better place.
Actually, I probably shouldn’t say that if stats and magic resulted in the predicament the world is in now.
Meh, it would still be cool, and thats the only thing that matters.
I’m gonna go back to the library in Danny and Mike’s village, there’s still so much about this world that I have yet to remember, I think every member of our group should read these books to preserve the history of the world, I may have no stake in this world, the only reason I joined these people was because I was a selfish prick who wanted to change the world to fit my modern moral compass. That wasn’t to say that these people weren’t evil, they enslave their own population for gods sake, but my reasons are a little more selfish than the rest of the crew.
There are people here who do have stake in this world though, thats why I want all of these people to read up on the true history, it makes for quite the inspiring protest against the oppressive force.
I’ll make sure to tell people of this library.

I stepped out of the speakeasy and ran towards the village, I decided to go fast and try to exert myself rather than just pace around with a small jog, even if Danny and Mike were just trying to frustrate me by making me run harder while they were just jogging, exercise was still a good thing to do here, it did improve my stats.
And why did I have to limit it to stamina training. I could lift heavy shit and run as fast as i could in short bursts, I was already reading which did train your mind, and you got juicy juicy XP from it too, instead of waiting for the gnoll king and the dungeon boss to respawn for me to level up, I could increase my stats and possibly get a premature level up, I could reach level 10 and start doing these missions.
Why was I so deadset on going on missions for this place, as I said before, I had no stake in this world. Well, I could chalk it up to me being a selfish prick, or my monkey brain wanting number to go up. Another option could be that destiny is leading me towards the path back to my original world, and I must be strong to face the ordeals that making it there involved.
Lots to think about indeed.
Well, no time to think now, I was back at the village and ready to finish reading that book, I walked into the bunker and looked around for that book, I remembered I left the handle of a goblin knife in one of them.
History of the Modern World, that was the one, I picked it back up and went to the page that the handle was allowing me to find, I slipped the handle out and pocketed it. Then I started reading.
It took a while, mainly because I spaced out every few paragraphs from how encyclopedic it sounded, but at the end of it all, it did give me some good insights, or one good insight to be exact, the rest was definitely useful info, but nothing caught my attention, or made me so interested in every single word other than the section about the Autarch.
Who is the Autarch?
The Autarch is the ruler of the Dunas Empire, he is the man who is said to have discovered magic, and incidentally chose the strongest type, simply called Overlord.
People say he was an oracle, he spoke the language of the gods and thats how he knew how to ask the gods to go through their ordeals to attain magic.
He founded the Dunas empire, not to rule the world, but to maintain peace, he saw himself as a messiah and he would put a stop to all wars or conflicts and spread the word of magic throughout the world.
He was and still is a narcissist, but at least he was being good with his abilities, but one day he just flipped.
Maybe he was getting bored, maybe it was an order sent from the heavens to captivate every man woman and child so that the gods could reign supreme, with the autarch as their weapon.
The book was a solid 3/10, there were a couple captivating segments, but nothing that would make up for the rest of the book.
I slammed the book shut and slotted it in its previous location, I’d continue reading the tomorrow, the sun was starting to set.
