Another day of slaughtering Bullywugs and scarecrows, fun, isn’t it?
Well, I haven’t had fun in days. That was a lie, but I sure as hell had a low supply of it, I had no anime, tv shows, movies or games, no, I was out here, getting blood all over me, I stank like hell, I was watching over my shoulder 24/7 for not only monsters, but now people, I think I've convinced myself into being able to kill another human.
There is no difference between them and a Bullywug.
Shit, it’s like an earworm whenever I hear it, my brain hurts, I’ve got a headache, I just wanna go back to my old world, with college and trivial problems and barely any responsibilities, at least in comparison to this bullshit.
I only wanted to become a rebel because I had nothing better to do, it was either I work subserviently and stay in agony for the rest of my life, or kill myself, none of those options were good, I needed excitement, I want to take down this evil empire, ain’t that fun.
Oh, hey, I leveled up, ain’t that fun?
Oh hey, I have to stay awake for days at a time so I don’t get killed in my sleep, ain’t that fun?
Well, technically it was the first day I had to do this, but you get my point, I just wanted to finish the last episode of that show I really liked, is that too much to ask?
“Jeremy, I wanna go back.”
“I know you do, you’ve been talking my ear off about it all night, and I keep saying it makes our position known, now shut the fuck up.”
I nodded, I could barely keep my eyes open I don’t think I could stay awake much longer at all.
What if I just lay back, close my eyes, and forget about everything, let the night just pass by, and start with a wonderful day in my old bed, with my old friends.
“Shit, we got movement, you ready.”
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Oh my fucking god.” I groaned, standing up, gripping my knife tightly and waiting for something to come.
Jeremy nocked an arrow and let loose a shot into the branches of a tree, but it missed as there were no feathers or anything to keep the arrow aerodynamic, but at least I knew the general direction of where the attackers were.
“Come out! I ain’t got time for your games, I just wanna sleep.” I said.
An arrow was returned back to us, this one had a stone tip, we had a fellow archer attacking.
I looked to the right, where the arrow had landed. Jeremy collapsed to the ground and was bleeding profusely, the arrow was stuck in his gut.
I ran as fast as I could towards wherever the arrow came from, one flew past me but as I was a moving target it was harder to hit me.
I saw the man hiding inside some densely packed branches of a tree, I used my speed and momentum to run up to the tree and plant my foot onto the side of it, pushing down against it to gain lots of height before bailing into the branch he was standing on.
I landed hard, but he landed harder, I mustered up all my will, courage and strength to get back up as fast as possible.
I walked over to the archer, gripping his shirt as he tried to get up, I slammed a fist into his nose.
There is no difference between them and a Bullywug.
My knife entered the monster’s dome, blood and grey matter spewing everywhere, it had dropped some good loot along with it. It had some properly made arrows with stone arrowheads, which was a perfect give for Jeremy, once he recovers he’ll love using this.
I collected all of it and his bow, while I wasn’t an expert or anything, his bow did look more high quality than whatever Kashubian improvised in mere minutes.
The monster gave me decent XP too, I was at [202/300] and [Knife-Fighting I] had leveled up as well, which was a welcome addition.
Only a few more Bullywugs and scarecrows and I would level up again, can’t wait.
I dashed over towards Jeremy, He had managed to rip out the arrow and put pressure on the wound, he was looking a little pale though.
“You’re alright, let the system heal you quicker than bleeding does, I’ll keep pressure on the wound, you should tough it out.”
He nodded and I put my hands over his abdomen, making sure the blood was inside the body. It took a few minutes but colour was coming back to his body, when I released my hands the wound was much smaller, I don’t think I needed to keep my hands there much longer, but he still needs a bit more time to recover before I’m fully confident in his ability to fight well.
“Alright, I managed to loot some good shit from the Bullywug, I got a bunch of stone-tipped arrows and a cool bow, so you can do much more damage, that Gnoll King has nothing on us.”
“Gnoll King was a bitch!” He shouted.
“Yeah, that’s the spirit, get up, lazy ass,” I said, gripping his hand and pulling him back up.
“Did you see what I did, I hopped off that tree and bashed him off, it was awesome.”
“Yep, I was a little preoccupied with the arrow in my gut but I think I recall you flopping onto the floor like a little jackass, still cool though.”
