As soon as the death knight was stuck in the magnetite, Scepticus had already begun to make a move along. He started running. After 15 minutes or so he arrived at where Nick was.
Nick started talking “Oii! Rude Kid! What happened to my Death Knight?! TELL ME NOW! OR YOU ARE GONNA DIE!”. “Well I guess I will tell you since you are not a projection anymore. So basically your death knight is stuck… Also don't refer to me as a kid since you are ALSO one,” Scepticus replied.
“WELL for doing that I am still going to KILL YOU!” said Nick. Suddenly Nick takes out a sword. “Shit, I don't have any weapon and necromancers aren't known to be chivalrous….” Scepticus thought to himself. Just as he was thinking about weapons a longsword suddenly formed in his hands.
“Oh, well that’s pretty handy,” thought Scepticus “is it a new skill I got?”. Scepticus gripped his longsword hard and let its tip lay on his right side. Nick started attacking as soon as Scepticus got his weapon. But the battle was weird.
Although Nick was a necromancer he seemed to actually be good at using swords. Multiclassing in this world was extremely rare; the only other multiclassers Scepticus had seen were the other demon lords. After deflecting blow from blow by Nick's attacks, one of Nick’s attacks managed to hit Scepticus even though it looked like it hadn’t hit him at all.
“I don’t know what kind of tricks you are pulling but keep in mind that I will figure it out!” Scepticus said. Nick just laughed at this remark while landing more and more hits. Suddenly just as Nick was about to hit Scepticus, Scepticus disappeared and appeared behind Nick.
“If I can’t win in a battle of strength I shall win in a battle of speed” said Scepticus. Nick then said “Do you not feel pain, you monster?!”. "I have felt pain far worse than this. Compared to the pain you are giving me now and what I have felt beforehand, the pain you are inflicting on me is child’s play" Scepticus replied.
Although what Scepticus said wasn’t really true he knew that making the opponent believe that they are weak could get him a huge advantage. ‘In the face of one's imminent death, fear only makes you weaker’.
This was one of Scepticus famous quotes that he actually believed in. Although he has gotten shocked he has never been scared or backed down from a battle. As Scepticus was battling Nick he recalled some of his previous memories when fighting a level 5 necromancer.

When he was fighting the level 5 necromancer he remembered that it kept spamming its summons. Scepticus got so pissed he used a skill that sliced the necromancer in half but also flattened a mountain range in the background.
Scepticus continued fighting Nick but time and time again he felt something was wrong with Nick and his strikes. Sometimes even though Scepticus' strikes should have hit they were deflected even though Nick and his Sword was busy trying to attack him.
It was almost as if Nick had an invisible sentient sword that would do his bidding for him. But then Scepticus noticed that some hits weren’t deflected and Nick had to dodge these attacks. If Nick had an invisible sentient sword, it should have been able to block everything, no matter if the attacks were fast or not.
It was then that Scepticus looked at Nick's Shoulders. It seemed slightly distorted. Scepticus knew that whatever Nick was doing would have had something to do with those distorted shoulders. But as soon as Scepticus thought about that, a mental attack was launched at him.
“A mental fortress… I see. But I am a master at dealing with those kinds of things” Scepticus said to himself. Ralforus, one of the previous demon lords, was an illusionist and so with his help Scepticus had basically managed to master tolerance to illusions that were cast on him.
Scepticus kept thinking about what it could be that Nick was doing since only people with illusion magic or strong wills could cast mental fortress. Nick didn’t appear to have a strong will but who knows? Deep down he might have an iron will.
Suddenly Scepticus thought of something. “If he isn’t casting an illusion on me, what if he is casting it on himself? That would make the most logical sense since if he had used an illusion on me I would have resisted it a long time ago”. Scepticus had just figured out the key to defeating Nick and knew exactly how he was going to kill him.
