Chapter 24: Assassin Person Strikes Again?

Chapter 24: Assassin Person Strikes Again?

“Oh yeah, Boss the culprit is a child,” the hunting dog said. “WHAT? A MERE CHILD THERE’S TO STEP ONTO OUR LAND? FIND THEM AND BRING THEM TO ME. I WILL PERSONALLY TAKE CARE OF THEM,” the man in the goatee said. “And how much are you payin-”. “NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THAT SHIT I’LL DECIDE THAT LATER. NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF MY SIGHT!” the man in the goatee yelled. “Welp. I better be accommodated properly,” the hunting dog said. The hunting dog then began to swiftly move through the woods and before long was near Scepticus’ town. The man then takes out a piece of paper with a bunch of names on them. “It’s probably better that Adder doesn’t know that is his son. He’ll go into a frenzy and destroy the town without putting any self-thought into his actions,”. The Hunting Dog then sighed as he disappeared.

The hunting dog then quickly traversed the streets of Baymore attempting to find Scepticus. He then managed to reach behind Scepticus’ house and saw him drawing in his room. “Well he’s still a kid what was I expecting. A psychopathic murderer? But he wasn’t afraid to go into battle. I’m quite the confused person right now,” the Hunting Dog says. “Well it’s time,”. “Time for what?” Scepticus said as he appeared behind the Hunting Dog the window, only opening after Scepticus was behind the Hunting Dog. “What I couldn’t even sense him,” the Hunting Dog thought to himself thinking on what to do next. He then just disappeared and appeared behind Scepticus. “Simple counter really,” he said. He then coughed blood not noticing that Scepticus had made a punch through his stomach.

“You’re a shit assasin if you can’t stay hidden. Now tell me. Who sent you? Is it that Mortuus Flumen dude?” Scepticus said. “Shit,” the assassin said as he coughed up even more blood. “Welp. If you aren’t going to answer… I’ll make you,” Scepticus said as he stepped on the assassin’s arm and a cracking sound made his arm get crushed off. “AAAHHHH SHIT STOP IT,”. “Answer me then,” Scepticus said as he did the same exact thing to the other arm of the assassin. He then pulled off the cloak of the assassin to see a young man. “Just what are you?” the young man asked. Scepticus paid no heed to the man’s question and stomped on his crotch. “Welp. I don’t need more people like you,” Scepticus said, “So are you going to answer me?”. No reply. The man had already died.

“Well it looks like I had too much fun,”. Scepticus then sees the soul of the man slowly waver through the thousands of souls behind him. “Well that’s that taken care of. Now I'm going to dispose of this body… but how?”. Scepticus pondered for a while before deciding to return the body to where it came from. Mortuus Flumen. Scepticus then began to run out of town as quickly as possible, so that people wouldn’t see a kid carrying a corpse of a mutilated man. Scepticus then heard whispering coming from behind him. “Hmm… Oh, is that skill back too now?” he said whilst looking behind him. Well I can interrogate the assassin later, let's just get out of town first,” he said before continuing to run behind the houses. Now Scepticus had arrived at the gate entrance. “Hmm… it’s quite heavily guarded although I probably could use ‘Blitz’ and teleport through.

At that moment Scepticus heard something fall behind him and then saw the terrified expression of Celaine. “Sc-Scepticus just what have you done?” she asked him. “Oh, this guy? Well this bastard tried to kill me so I killed him in self-defence. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth as the saying goes,” Scepticus said whilst brushing his shoulders. “You know that still isn’t legal right?” she said. “Huh? What is a ‘legal’?” Scepticus asked her. “Are you serious right now? I sometimes think you are from the literal past. If something is legal it means it can be done without consequences. And if it’s not legal… well you get where I’m headed,” Celaine said. “I mean I am from the past but she doesn’t know that. Oh well it's better to act dumb to then tell her I am a bloody reincarnation of a killing-machine,” Scepticus thought to himself.

“So, a ‘legal’ is something which can be done without consequences. I see. Well if they never learned I did this will there still be consequences?” Scepticus asked Celaine. “I guess not…” she said, her voice wavering off. “Oh well. You won’t tell anyone right?” Scepticus asked her. “Well cause if you are planning on telling people, well let’s say things won’t be so good for you. And since you’re technically my accomplice now… I’d like you to help me,” Scepticus told her. “WHAT?! I AM NOT YOUR ACCOMPLICE!” she screamed at Scepticus. “Shut up. The guards might hear us,” Scepticus whispered to her. “And is that really my problem?” she asked Scepticus. “Actually it is. Since you saw me holding a body and didn’t report it immediately, you would be my accomplice,” he said. “Alright, you’ve convinced me,” Celaine replied. “Hey who knows, I might even request Asmodeus to lend you some of his power,” Scepticus said.

“But wouldn’t the churches be a problem?” she asked Scepticus. “I’ll ask him to help you in a way where it is barely detectable. One more thing. How did Asmodeus even end up sealed inside you?” Scepticus asked her. “Not really sure myself. I learned about his presence when I had nightmares as a kid about him. He’d kill my family and stuff like that. Probably why my reaction isn’t the worst,” Celaine told Scepticus. “Alright hold my hand,” Scepticus told Celaine. “HuH?!” she exclaimed whilst beginning to blush. “It’s just my hand, not anything else. Now let’s go,” Scepticus said before forcibly grabbing her hand and using ‘Blitz’ teleporting inside a bush. The guards noticed the bush rustling but didn’t think much of it, thinking it was just some wild animal. “Well we’re out,” Scepticus whispered to Celaine whose face had turned as red as a cherry.

“Stop turning red. You’re giving me flashbacks to that disgusting race,”. Celaine misunderstood this as a remark to a sprinting competition when they were younger where a boy pushed Celaine and her face turned red before crying although Scepticus was referring to the Demon Race. “HuH?! HOW DO YOU REMEMBER THAT!?” she asked him, her face turning more red than it already was. Scepticus looked at her with a confused look. “Just what did she misunderstand my statement for?” he thought to himself. They walked further and further into the forest and it was becoming dark. Eventually Scepticus finally said, “Isn’t this the river that archer man told me about?”. On the other side of the river he saw a few tents with one bigger tent with a deer skull on the tip. “This had to make it harder for you, right Nick?” Scepticus said whilst looking at the skull. He then threw the corpse into the river. “Well my ego isn’t letting me leave this place alone, Celaine. Let’s go in,” he told her. “WAIT! GIVE ME SOME TIME TO MENTALLY PREPARE MYS-”. Scepticus ignored her cries and jumped across the river. “Welp here we go,” he said. “Stop this madness,” Celaine said. “Oh come one you just had to ruin my cool entrance,”.
