It's been five days since the injury. Fortunately, Kenji didn't have any serious injuries, but no one wanted him to switch. The poisoning went well, but now they only have two days to control the water. What will the training be like with the legendary torturer Fuyu Narun?
Fear. That's what I'm feeling right now. I woke up a few minutes ago and the harsh reality reminded me of what I'm going to do today. Training with Fuy begins today. Aaaaaaaaaa! I'm dead. I stay in bed, he comes and kills me. I get out of bed, he comes and kills me. There is no scenario where I survive alive... Goodbye, my dear life. I loved you. With a great deal of compulsion, I crawled out of bed after a 10 minute fight with myself. Walked over to my closet and pulled out my jeans, shirt, sweater and jacket. I threw it all on the bed and went to take a shower.
"Mmmm yummy." I grumbled contentedly and ran a hand through my long auburn hair.
I turned off the tap and climbed out. There I wrapped a towel around my waist and hair and moved on to brushing my teeth. At this I wondered a bit how lucky I was to actually have such great friends. For a long time I had had so little and sometimes nothing, but now I had everything I could wish for. I hope you can see that, Momo-chan. I'm happy.
Now in a positive mood, I put on my shirt and jeans and went to prepare breakfast. I still have my duties as a servant. At least I think I do. But let's face it, I liked cooking. And I was, as always, up early.
I took an egg, milk and a jar of blueberry jam out of the fridge. Then I took out some more flour and other things and set about making pancakes.
An hour later I had a good stack of pancakes and judging by the choking and screaming I heard, I guessed Natsu was awake. And I guess the others, too, since he's stomping. He stormed into the dining room and took his seat.
"Good morning." I peeked around the corner of the kitchen and then went back to flipping pancakes.
"Good. I hope you got something decent to eat." He mumbled aloud.
"You went hunting yesterday, didn't you?"
"Yeah, but that was just blood. That's what the vampire part of me needs. My human part is craving some human food right now."
"Tss. You really are a bunch of weirdos." I shook my head and picked up two plates and walked over to him.
I placed a plate in front of Natsu and next to him.
"Mmmm pancakes. Thank you, Iruka."
"You're welcome."
As I walked back into the kitchen, the door creaked open. Inside stood Haru and Aki, with Kenji at his side.
"Good morning." They greeted in chorus and sat down at the table.
"Good morning." I waved at them and took their plates and brought them over.
I put more jam on the table and wished them well.
"Where's Fuyu?" I asked after a while when I saw that he wasn't coming.
"Probably in his room." Natsu replied icily, already digging into another plate of pancakes.

I picked up the plate of pancakes and jam and followed him upstairs. I knocked lightly on his door.
"Come in." There was a muffled sound.
I didn't hesitate and entered the room. Fuyu had a very nice and big room. It was painted light blue, almost white. He had a huge mahogany bed in the middle. Opposite was a tall white wardrobe and on the other side was a desk also made of mahogany. The villa was very modern on the outside and more European-built than typical Japanese houses, but his room still felt like it was from another time. It was like stepping back in time, but actually not really there were definitely modern touches. I don't know how to describe it, the room was, in a word, nostalgic.
"I brought you food." I whispered, peering around to see where it was.
He wasn't in bed. Maybe in the other room that had the door partially ajar. But I was afraid to peek into what that room was.
"Yeah thanks. Sorry I got held up in the shower. I went for a run this morning."
He walked out of the room, buttoning up his white shirt. He wore simple black jeans with it. He was gorgeous and my heart skipped a beat at the thought. I quickly cocked my head to the side so I wouldn't stare at him and blush even more.
"Good, I was just worried." I spoke the sentence quietly, still looking to the side.
"It's okay. You don't have to worry about me." He said and ruffled my hair.
I frowned a little, but I was still unable to make any movement. Fuyu stood looking at me for a while. He looked me over from top to bottom, as if he had x-ray eyes.
"Then go eat too. Then let's go train. We need to get this over with quickly."
I just shook my head and quickly disappeared. I closed the door and leaned against it. I had to breathe fast and loud. I leaned forward and tried to calm myself down. My heart almost skipped a beat. I sighed out loud and ruffled my hair.
"Let's eat." I said to myself and pushed away from the door.
••••••••••••••••••
I put on a warm jacket. You put on your boots and ran towards the lake at the end of our garden. We should be there in two minutes. And I ran at the last minute, as I was still doing my duties as a servant and cleaning up after breakfast.
"Speed." I murmured, and my running picked up.
Everything around me was so dim and blurry and all I could see was my direct line of sight, but I was getting my bearings. I got there just in time.
I stopped and breathed a little sigh of relief. Kenji was silently taunting me and Fuyu...well he was killing me in his mind again.
"S-sorry." I stuttered and looked at him.
"So listen. I won't be like the others. I'm not just going to teach you how to control it, but I'm going to teach you a very important spell. So let's get started. I'm going to attack you, and you can't defend yourself with anything but water. There's a spell I'm going to teach you that goes along with that. It's a wall of water. It's actually a water shield, but more effective against fire attacks. If you use water spells, believe that you will always be attacked by fire, but fire is not always stronger than water. You have to be more clever than fire mages. Fire is impulsive and usually spontaneous, but water is the opposite. Calm, deliberate. That's the power of it." He paused a bit over his monologue and looked at us.
"So enough of the bullshit. Let's do it. If I use my magic to get you into the lake, you'll lose and have to stay in it for at least 20 minutes. Now get undressed."
"WHAT????!!" Kenji and I came out at the same time.
I don't know what was more shocking. Staying in the cold water for 20 minutes or wrestling with him in just his boxers. I hope he didn't mean everything.
"It's, like, 10 degrees..." Kenji whined.
"Any objections?!" Fuyu raised his voice a little, his face becoming more petrified.
We both started shaking and shaking our heads in disagreement. You just don't want to antagonize him.
"So for that remark, you go first Kenji. Take your clothes off."
Kenji swallowed dryly and began to undress.
In a moment Kenji was standing in nothing but his dark blue boxers with pink hearts. I had to start laughing out loud.
"Stt-ooped iiit." He gritted his teeth and scowled at me.
"Guess you weren't expecting to get naked today, were you?" Laughing, even my stomach, which I was clutching spasmodically, began to ache.
"Stop it, Iruka. I want to see yours later." He chastised Fuya, but you could tell he was suppressing his laughter. I better shut up and pay attention.
"Let's get started." Fuyu announced, throwing off his coat.
He straddled his legs a bit into an attack position. Kenji did the same, though he was shivering with cold. Suddenly, water gushed out of his hands.
"What! Without saying anything!" I blurted out at the voice.
Even Kenji was surprised. But he couldn't think about it right now.
He nimbly dodged the oncoming current.
Fuyu only slightly lifted the right corner of his lips to smile.
