Chapter no. 12 - Magician

Iruka Huro has lived for eighteen years under the assumption that he is an unloved useless boy who only survives. But what if he finds out he's more than just an ordinary person? What did fate have in store for him? And what does it mean to be a magician?

Okay... I have to process this. One... two... one...two... no I'm not giving it... I got up and started running madly around in the wheel. Yes normal people would sit and try to process it, but no I have other methods. Running and screaming around the room, he's more savvy.

"God, what is it? Should I be worried? Will I have another skin too? I don't want to be gray! What if I'm purple? I don't want to be blueberry! Ahhh, what's going on here?! Will I have a wand from now on? I get into a secret school, what's in Scotland? “

Fuyu's patience ran out, and as I ran past him, he punched me and I fell to the ground.

"Fuyu, are you normal?!” Haru chided him and rushed to me at once.

"My ears hurt." He answered him curtly, as if nothing had happened. Haru just glared at him and shifted his attention to me.

"Are you all right? Are you in pain?"

"No. It's okay. I needed it."

"That's why I did it."

"Fuyu shut up!"Haru called him again.

He helped me up and back to my original seat.

"What does that mean, then? What is this apprentice? Am I from another planet? Am I going to change? This is too much for me. You're crazy haha.. no I'm crazy. This is some stupid dream."I was literally panicking.

"Calm down. We'll explain everything." Haru said.

"Perhaps you've heard stories about wizards, and what they can't do?"Aki asked.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Yes, but what of it is true and what is not? With you, it's not all true either."

"Well, you're right. Let's start with your skills, then." Aki cleared his throat and began.

Your powers are actually dimensionless. Everything you've heard is true. You can do anything. There are clouds and clouds of magic. That is why wizards are recognised in all worlds. You're splitting into three groups. Apprentices, wizards and wizards. It's down to how strong you are."

"And can I tell what category I belong to?"

"Good question, Iruka. You have levels. You're level one, but this doesn't really cut it. The important thing is the exams, which are done every year. You just have to have a certain level, but it's all decided by tests anyway."

"So I don't have to deal with those levels super. The world is a little easier.”

Aki frowned at my cynical response.

"Well, you can't really deal with it, but there's an institute that records and polices it." Haru replied.

"What are the tests? Like at school?" The boys burst into unstoppable laughter. I'll probably kill them soon and there'll be peace. I thought.

"No, silly. Wizards fight each other, and the strongest ones get on some left. To become an apprentice, you have to pass three left-field exams." Aki explained to me again.

"Wait for the apprentices are exams, too?!"

"Yes. As I told you, this is a recognised position and the council will not allow anyone to be a magician. Since a magician isn't limited to race, it's more of a position, and it's a lot harder to hold that position.”

"Welcome to the magic game, the great wizard.” Natsu joked.

"So what's going to happen to me now?"

"We're going to Taiyo. We'll be there for a while to book you and teach you some magic. We have to go anyway because of that monster Gina" Fuyu said.

I went pale all over. Should I leave this place? Who would have expected these things to happen when I left the orphanage threshold? Where are the old carefree days? I can't believe it. My employer is four vampires. My governess was a freaky dryad for a year that killed her in cold blood. And now I'm supposed to be a magician? Is that even possible? I'm nothing. Unloved, unwanted, alone. I'm just a lost soul with no place..

"Iruka, don't worry. The first exams are written. You don't have to worry. You just cram in the basics and it's in your pocket. Then we'll go back and practice here. We're not asking you to move into the unknown."Haru spoke to me, noticing that I was saddened.

I didn't answer. I had to remember. All previous and temporary memories have returned. But one decided it all.

"Good. Here we go." I'm determined.

I want to be a magician. I thought of Momo-san and how the beast had killed her. I wasn't there, but it still hurts. I must protect this world, even if it costs me every penny.
