Chapter no. 2 - Interview

The address that was written on the ad led me out of town. The wide asphalt road ended abruptly, and ahead of me was a dense forest. I was about to turn around and surrender, but I noticed a little sign that had the street name engraved on it. Iruka don't worry. This is your chance for a better life. I said to myself and set out on the forest path. So the road was a hell of a long way, and my faith grew increasingly flaccid when I caught a glimpse of a modern grand villa in the trees, with wooden cladding that was complemented in places by a white facade.

"That'll be it!" I cheered.

I joyously ran to the house. No one was standing around, nor was there a fence to border unwanted. Why is that, too? Who would go so deep into the woods in search of a rich villa? I thought. I adjusted my long dark brown hair for the last time and rang the bell. I could hear the resonant ton carrying through the grand house. What if they're not home? Why didn't I call first? What if it's no longer current? What if it was prank. I started to panic. Again, my anxiety and disbelief returned to me. It was too good to be true. I can hear the creaking of the floorboards from the other side. Someone went. My heart started to feel like a bell. My self-assurance was gone. My knees were shaking. The door opened slowly.

The door opened and I finally saw a figure. Well, it's more like I saw the belly of something. I looked up. Above me stood a good two heads taller young man. God, he's so tall. I couldn't hold my thought and almost said it out loud.

"H-Hello. I found your ad and-and I'd like to apply for the job if it's still vacant of course." I pointed out a newspaper clipping for proof.

There was an awkward silence. The man looked me up and down. He leaned toward me slowly. I closed my eyes for a second as I opened them, the benign face of a young man before me. I got a chance to get a look at the man. He was no older than me. He had light blonde hair that fell into his uncharacteristic piercing green eyes. And a very warm smile played on his mouth. His whole energy was suddenly so positive. All my embarrassment splintered out of me.

"I was afraid no one would accept it. Come in." He smiled and straightened up again.

He stepped aside and allowed me to enter his mansion. I had a wonderful room, which I could only dream of imagining. As on the outside and inside, the house did not bear the traditional hallmarks of a Japanese house, but was styled in a lavish European mansion. There was a beautifully polished marble flagstone on the ground, as well as massive stairs directly opposite the front door. I didn't have time to take a closer look at the foyer, as the man took off his shoes and made his way to the room on the right. I quickly took off my shoes, too, politely and quietly said hello, and followed. The room was transformed into a cozy parlor. The walls were plastered with oil wallpaper with tiny ornaments of flowers. On the windows were long satin curtains in the same color. The lounge featured a mini bar with three bar chairs. There was also a billiards room and one whole wall with shelves full of books. There was a red sofa in the middle where he sat down with the blonde, two more chairs and a glass coffee table around it.

I sat down opposite the lad and waited to see what was going to happen, but again the awkward silence began, and he merely regarded me more intently.

“Excuse me..." I said quietly, clearing my throat.

"I'm sorry. Can I get you anything? My brothers will be here shortly to discuss everything. In the meantime, tell me, what is your name?" He had a honeyed voice and was so nonchalant. So resonant. So charming.

"My name is Huro Iruka. I'm 18 years old. I know I'm young, but I have a lot of experience cleaning and worrying about the house. Though not that big. I look forward to working with you!" I stood up and bowed tactfully after my monologue.

"Hmmmm. I only asked for a name, but thank you at least I know ahead of time. You have beautiful language. I like that. Please sit down. I'm Haru. Naruno Haru. You can only call me Haru."He was still smiling charmingly at me.

"Nice to meet you, sir. "

"Nice to meet you, too. Will you excuse me? I'll go get the geeks. Have something to drink."

He smiled amiably and disappeared. I sat still, trying to calm my nerves.

I heard a terrible thud. Is there a herd of buffalo running around or something?! I looked suspiciously at the closed door. Instinctively, I duck into the sofa. The door bursts open into the booze. I don't know if I should say thankfully or unfortunately it wasn't a herd, but another tall, red-haired boy this time. He was laughing from ear to ear.

"There he iiiiiiiiissssss!!!!" He shouted.

“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"I yelp as I was startled by his very loud welcome.

He came running up to me and grabbed my arm like some little kid and started rolling with me. He was laughing his head off and spinning me around. I stared at the kid in disbelief. The kid was about the height of Haru. He had his long red hair up in a half ponytail. He had a wonderful smile, too, and the same smile as Haru. I saw the resemblance there. I stared into his eyes for a moment. His eyes were deep yellow. Yes yellow. It's the lenses, Iruka. I thought at once. I've only just realized that this stranger is making me feel like a little baby. I was about to start buckling when someone stopped the psychopath.

"Let him go, Natsu!"

"Why are you hitting me again?"

"Because it's not really welcome like this."He was rebuked by a new figure who appeared here.

The redhead stuck his tongue out at him and turned to me and said:

"I'm so sorry. I hope it didn't offend. I was thrilled that someone had applied for the position. I won't have to clean anymore. Hehe." And grinned.

I just smiled wanly, still processing what had just happened.

"Natsuu.."He was chastised by the young man who saved me from him. They were both already drawing breath for words, and I suspected an argument was brewing. God, where am I?

"That's enough for the two of you. Where's Fuyu?"He asked Haru, who had come.

"He said we should make that decision for him."He replied casually to Natsu and sat down.

Haru gestured for me to sit down again. This time there were three of me, and I was even more nervous about it.

"Good. Iruko. These are my two brothers. Natsu and Aki.”

I bowed politely and looked at the so-called Aki and gave him a quick look. It was the same height, and it radiated a different aura from Natsu. He was so mysterious and cold already d look. I didn't know what he could be thinking. He had thick chestnut reddish-brown hair cut at the sides and slightly longer at the back. He wore glasses on his eyes, but took them off and put them in his shirt pocket. His eyes were also very strange. His right eye was yellow and his left eye was red. The lenses gave him even more mystery. Haru's voice jolted me from my thoughts.

"So we would love to take you to our humble house and offer you the position of servant. that is, if you believe you can take care of the whole house on your own and cook for us."

"Yes I can! I promise I won't let you down!”

"Well done, then we're set." And he held out his hand. I took great pleasure in squeezing it.

And so begins my new life.
