The Rise of the Sun Emperor
The City of Chaistos

The City of Chaistos

It didn't take too long for the group to reach Chaistos, the capital of the Kingdom of Tabnit, the entire city had a melancholy feeling, homeless people littered every street and all the markets were empty.

Baltsar couldn't help but worry about his home as he saw this scene. After trampling his homeland, the Eastern empire invaded the Addir Empire and the Kingdom of Tabnit, so Baltsar expected the situation in his country to be even worse.

-" Quite the destruction." Thorin spoke through the carriage walls with Baltsar. " Maintaining such an army must be hard, especially for the Eastern Empire which lacks resources, so they pillage and raze everything in their sights."

Baltsar bit his lips as his heart bubbled with rage. " Easterns Bastards!" He whispered softly trying his best not to lose his composure. " They will get what they deserve." He now hoped with his whole heart for Thorin and his group to finish Daalmak and his scourge."

-" The Eastern empire won't have such an easy time for long." Thorin smirked as he continued. " I remember a popular saying from the north... Once Before, Never Again."

Baltsar clenched his fist as he heard Thorin's words. this motto referred to the time when the northern lands were conquered by the drow in ancient times, and since this time the people from the north swore to never again bow their heads to a tyrant.

-" It was easy to speak such words in peaceful times." Baltsar was disappointed with himself, he had to be remembered by a man of the Sun Lands the most essential aspect of being a northerner. " But, we are from the north and are used to facing times like this."

Baltsar gazed at the downcast people in the street and swore to himself that he wouldn't let his people down. As a warrior from the north, he had the duty to fight for the future of the whole north.

-" It will be hard." Baltsar wiped the horses of the carriage as he continued. " But with your guy's help, we can do this."

Thorin laughed wrily, the idea of someone from the north accepting and being thankful for the help of the Sun Lands was comical at best. " Oh? Don't you want to throw us out too?"

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Baltsar smiled weakly, since he began traveling with Thorin and the group, his opinion of the people of the Sun lands only grew better. He still had some hatred toward Dillia and especially Oppius, however, he learned that it was wrong to hate every one of the Sun Lands.

-" Isn't it better to deal with the devil you know?" Baltsar laughed joyfully, he had hopes that the success of Thorin's group reignited the fire of rebellion on the people of the north. " Just make sure to kill that bastard." The carriage finally reached the Inn that Thorin had chosen as Baltsar finished speaking.

-" We won't disappoint you." Thorin spoke with confidence as he exited the carriage.

The group entered Thorin and quickly settled down, this was the last moment of peace and rest they would have before finally going to hunt Daalmak, so they wanted to rest.

A group rode their horses in the direction of the Calm Highlands, they all wore a cape with the sun superimposed with a sword.

-" Fast!" The man in the front of the group shouted as he whipped his horse.

-" Shiy?" The man just behind him called in surprise. " Why the hurry? Can't we pass in the city?"

Shiy Namitok, one of Daalmak's lieutenants, spat on the ground as he heard the question. " Don't be stupid, Schad! Daalmak ordered us to return as fast as possible."

Schad shook his head, he didn't believe that anyone would ever dare to go against the Eastern Empire, so this hurry in returning was in vain.

-" Why does it even matter that we found Sun Energy there?" Schad couldn't hide the disappointment on his face, they were traveling for days on end and barely had any rest, so he wanted to go to the city to blow some steam off.

-" Tsk! Of course, it matters." Janset, another one of the Daalmak's lieutenants answered the question. " The blasphemers of the Sun Lands won't sit still while we are here, they are for sure planning something."

Schad looked at Janset in a mixture of lust and hatred, it had been close to two months since the last time he had taken a woman to bed, so he couldn't help, but, to thirsty over Janset a little.

Janset sneered as she noticed the lustful look on Schad's face, as he didn't even try to hide it. " Do you want to get beat up again? I suggest you take your dirty eyes off me."

-" Aren't you too full of yourself? Just because you beat me last time it won't mean that I will lose again." Schad's last defeat had caused quite the bruise in his pride, even more as he lost the lieutenant position due to it, so he was salivating for a rematch. " Why don't you have a go? But be careful, because if you lose I won't stop until I'm satisfied." Lust returned to Schad's eyes as he observed Janset's plump ass.

-" Enough!" Shiy finally had enough of the bickering between the two and snapped. " I don't want to hear any more words from you until we reach the camp!"

Schad pouted, he had the courage to be rude to Janset, but, Shiy was a completely different matter. He was the righthand man of Daalmak, and even people with a higher patent than him didn't dare to question him.

Before long, the group finally arrived at the camp of the Phurad Legion and quickly headed to Daalmak's tent. They were all serious, and even the proud and insubordinate Schad was serious.

-" I don't have to say for you all to behave, right?" Shiy gave one last look to the rest of his group before entering the tent.

They all nodded in unison, no one dared to even think of disrespecting Daalmak, partly because of his iron fist way of commanding his legion, and partly because of the man he worked under.

Sol'gos Zul'thrat, the General of the Second army of the Eastern empire, and Daalmak's general was considered a bloodthirsty demon to even the rest of the Eastern Empire army.

He had no pity and even massacred his own subordinates. His infamy as a demonic general came to prominence as one day he ordered the execution of a whole legion due to their failure in conquering a neighboring tribe.
