The first treasure was a small golden necklace in the shape of two interwoven doves, and the second was a globe the size of THorin's hand, inside it a yellow light calmly fluctuated.
-" Dillia, you will be the one operating the two treasures." Thorin continued to delegate all the responsibilities. " The most important part of your job will be the timing, we will first bait Daalmak and his officials with the necklace, and after they leave the camp you will activate the second treasure."
Dillia nodded as she eyed the treasure. -" What is the use of the two treasures? And how hard is it to control them?" Dillia wanted to be prepared, as she knew that her job was of great importance.
-" The necklace is an offensive relic that can summon two phoenix-like creatures, we will use this item to attract the attention of Daalmak." Thorin passed the necklace to Dillia, as he wanted her to get used to it. "After we bait Daalmak, we will activate the globe, creating a dome over their army camp."
Dillia's eyes flashed as she finally understood Thorin's plan. " How sure you are that Daalmak will come to us?"
-" Before yesterday?" THorin smirked as he thought back to Shiy's words. " Not so sure, but, I'm confident that he won't hide from us."
-" So what will be my role?" Vysard was excited, he wanted to accompany Thorin in the fight against Daalmak.
-" You will deal with whoever comes with Daalmak, and after that, you may assist me or Dillia, it's all up to the circumstances."
-" Up to the circumstances?"
-" If Daalmak is smart, he will try to destroy our barrier first." Thorin knew that they had no chance against the full brunt of the Eastern Army, but, he also was sure that Daalmak wouldn't mobilize them so easily. " By destroying our barrier, they will have a retreat path, and we won't have a good time."
The meeting didn't last for very long, with everyone going to begin their preparations.
Oppius returned to his room to rest, his knee injury still had a long way to full recovery, so he decided to have a good rest.
Dillia, on the other hand, began to study the relics that she would use, she was in the middle of the enemy's territory, so activating such a powerful item here wasn't feasible, this made bonding with the relics even harder.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
As for Vysard, he wanted to go explore the city, but, Thorin forbid him from leaving their hiding place, the city was likely filled with people from the Eastern Army, and THorin didn't want to take any chances of conflict now.
Vysard had almost gone crazy from boredom, but, he eventually decided to join Baltsar and learn to manipulate aura from Thorin.
He never bothered to learn anything about Aura and Magic, as he always thought that this was a waste of time.
His Sun Energy was so vast and pure that using anything else other than this was a downgrade in power. This wasn't just the case for Vysard, but, for many of the SUn Blesseds too.
Generally, only the Bronze Masked Sun Blessed had to be trained in Aura and Magic. Their reserves of SUn Energy weren't that big and having something else to rely on was a must.
-" Visualization and Manifestation are the first two steps in the control of every energy." The beginning of Thorin's lesson was very dull, he wanted to impart the fundamentals to Vysard and Baltsar, and he had no other good way other than to slowly explain everything. " Mana, Aura, and even Aether manifest in unique ways, so you can only achieve perfect control over them when you understand your true nature."
Baltsar was completely focused on Thorin's words and wrote down everything, a stark contrast with Vysard's attitude, who barely paid any attention.
-" This can only be achieved by constant meditation and honing of your mastery." THorin smirked as he saw Vysard's nonchalant attitude, however, he didn't scold him as he knew that the boy would have no difficulty in mastering Aura or Magic with his unnatural talent. " If I was teaching this to a common person, I would first ask you all to meditate for weeks on end, but, you two are not in any way common."
Baltsar gulped, he still couldn't accept the idea that he was no longer a normal person. " So? Are we trying to manifest Aura now?" Excitement took over him, he always dreamed of standing side by side with his old companions, and today his path to this dream would commence.
-" You don't have to worry, this surely will go smoothly." Thorin's lesson continued as he taught them two new methods to meditate, one for magic and another one for aura.
He wasn't sure about the quality of Baltsar's previous technique, but, it was undoubtedly of a lesser quality than what Thorin used, after all, this was a technique that came from the Chruch of the Sun God.
Just like Thorin expected, Vysard was able to manifest his aura in under a minute, and while Baltsar took a while longer, he still manifested his first strand of aura in under an hour.
Baltsar jumped in happiness as he saw the small glistering energy fluctuating above his finger, but, his happiness was short-lived as he saw Vysard covering his whole arm with aura.
Thorin laughed as he advised Baltsar not ever compare himself with Vysard, after all, the boy was a true anomaly.
The three of them kept training for the whole day, Baltsar's honing his aura control, and Vysard playing around with his new power.
And just like that days came and went, Oppius had almost returned to full health, Dillia's progress was almost complete, and Thorin not only kept training Baltsar and Vysard but, he also had begun to gather information around the city.
The entire city was tense, as each day more and more soldiers from the Phurad Legion flooded the city, they scoured the whole city in hopes of finding Shiy's group, but, not even a lead was found.
The Eastern Empire army had even imposed a lockdown on the city, making it almost impossible for anyone to enter or leave it.
Thorin barely worried about the curfew, as he knew that the lockdown could only affect the common citizen, but, he still decided to clean up the city before starting the mission.
The numbers of the soldiers of the Phurad Legion that patrolled the city began to slowly dwindle as Thorin and a group of Baltsar's allies started to deal with them.
At first, Thorin kidnaped them as he was interested in the information that they could provide, but, he soon noticed that they were all small fries.
The only useful information that he got out of them was the name of the person that sent them here: Hannibal Volkbert, Daalmak's strategist and his most trusted man.
