-" Sun God True name?" Vysard was confused by the sudden question. " Isn't it Adam?"
-" Adam Kadmon to be more precise." Thorin added while he tried to tame his thoughts. " His last name is only mentioned in one scripture, and this scripture is locked deep into the Illuminated Halls."
-" Kadmon?" Vysard felt a tingling sensation as he heard the name.
-" Adam Kadmon, the True Sun..." Thorin closed his eyes as he thought back to his first time in the Illuminated Hall.
Vysard was confused about where Thorin was trying to get. " So? Does his name have any importance?"
-" Of course, it's the name of your deity after all." Thorin laughed at the boy's comment. " This is also what the Eastern Emperor is calling himself."
Vysard's jaw dropped as he heard Thorin's bombshell of news. " Is he crazy or something?" He couldn't believe that the emperor would be so brazen to call himself that.
-" Who knows? But, I doubt it, no insane man would be so successful." Thorin sighed to himself, he knew that the Eastern Emperor had to be quite the powerful and capable man, as he had unified the Eastern Tribes, a feat that no one else besides him accomplished. " And don't you think that there is something more to this?"
-" Something more?" Vysard face dropped as he realized that THorin was testing him, he was sick of Thorin's ambiguous way of speaking, but, it didn't take him too long to finally realize what he was referring to. "How does he know the true name of the Sun God?" Vysard was in disbelief, he was pretty well versed in the story of the Sun god faith, but, he didn't have a clue about that.
Thorin laughed in a mixture of discomfort and curiosity. " Well, I hope that we find this when we finally meet Daalmak." Thorin was sure that this matter wouldn't be so simple as the Eastern Emperor simply crowning himself as the successor of the Sun God after discovering this true name.
His sudden rise to power, his distinguished feats, and the fervor of his vasals all pointed to the man having some sort of divine nature or treasure, but, their information about him was too scarce to make an accurate judgment.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
-" Does the church knows about this?" Vysard was flabbergasted, this was a direct insult to the Sun God Chruch, so he knew that they wouldn't take this lightly.
-" Maybe..." Thorin had the same thoughts as Vysard initially, but, he knew the vast influence of the Chruch of the Sun God, and they likely had informants in the Eastern lands. " If they know, it's likely that they would try to block the news."
Vysard tightened his grip, he truly believed in the Sun God's faith, so the Eastern Emperor declaring himself as the successor of the Sun God didn't sit well with him. " Good! We will make them regret blaspheming our Deity."
Thorin smirked as he saw how insulted Vysard was, but, deep down he couldn't help but wonder what he would do if the Eastern Emperor was truly chosen by the Sun God.
-" Vysard, get ready." Thorin clenched his teeth, he wanted to finish this mission quickly so he could go back to the Sun Lands to find an answer. " We will take a new path."
With Daalmak's location, they now could plan their route better, and Thorin already had a new one in mind.
-" New path?" Vysard asked in curiosity, as he thought that they would sail back to the city.
-" We will sail directly to the Kingdom of Askyreum." Thorin pointed to the location of the kingdom on the map atop his table. " From there we will travel to the Calm Highlands, this is the shortest route there, about two weeks of travel."
Vysard eyes brightened with interest, the allure of discovering more of the world was one of the few things that never grew old.
-" Is Daalmak on those mountains?" Vysard was confused as to why the commander of the enemy's forces would stay in a place like that.
-" He is likely overseeing the plundering of minerals." Thorin's eyes darkened as he observed the map. " The Eastern army is strong, but, they lack natural good quality equipment."
-" So they are preparing for invading the Sun Lands?" Vysard eyes burned with resolve. " As if we would let that happen!" While Vysard never saw the Sun Lands, he didn't like the idea of the enemy destroying it before he could explore it.
-" We should do what he can to hamper their progress there." Thorin patted Vysard on the back, the two of them had the same thought. " Killing Daalmak is just the first step, what we truly need is to support the north against them."
-" Will the Cardinals even agree to that?" Vysard seriously doubted that the prideful Cardinals would do something like this. " It is more likely that they order another invasion."
-" Well..." Thorin smirked sarcastically, a devious plan already begun to be formulated in his head. " I doubt that the Cardinals will have the power and capabilities to go around ordering things in the next few years."
-" Are you planning on something?" Vysard could feel the hatred in Thorin's voice as he mentioned the Cardinals.
-" Just making sure that they will pay their dues."
Thorin's devious smirk gave Vysard chills, he didn't know what he was up to, but he would nonetheless support him. Vysard never really liked any of the Cardinals, and the only person besides Thorin who gave him a good impression was the last Pope, Alexander.
-" Isn't it time for the church to reform? " Thorin stretched his arms as he exited his room. " I hope they understand, after all, I doubt that this iteration of the Chruch would survive what is to come." Thorin was sure that the Bronze and Silver Sun Blessed had some sort of rebellion planned, and the Golden Mask wasn't too found of the Chruch upper echelons too.
Thorin always found the Sun God Chruch doctrine of domination through coercion and strength to be flawed, and he found it laughable that in the end, it was violence that would bring an end to this doctrine.
