Interrogation

Shiy woke up as cold water hit his face, his mind was groggy and his memory fuzzy, the last thing he remembered was that he surrendered after Jansert was caught.

The room he was in now was almost completely dark, with only a small candle lit up in the middle of the room. Shiy anxiously looked around the room as he searched for Janset, but, she wasn't anywhere to be found.

-" Where is the woman that was with me?" Shiy's mouth was dry, and his voice barely came out.

-" You're in no position to worry about her." Oppius answered as he fiddled with some tools.

-" Is she alive?" Shiy repeated the question as he tried to break the chain that bound him.

-" At least for now..." Oppius let a smirk after answering, it looked like his relationship with the woman was quite close. " Is she your woman?"

Shiy blushed as he heard the question and chose not to answer, partly because of his shyness and partly because he knew that the man would use this information in the interrogation.

Oppius laughed joyfully as he saw the man's reaction, he would love to be the one torturing such a lovely couple, but, Thorin himself decided to be the one responsible for it.

It didn't take long for Thorin to finally enter the room carrying the black chains he used to fight Dillia.

He took a chair and brought it closer to the man, sitting face-to-face with him.

-" Good Night, Are you ready to give us some answers?" Thorin's face was completely serious as he spoke.

-" Is Janset safe?" Shiy still only had her safety in his mind.

-" If you cooperate she will be." Thorin remained calm and composed, he was not a person to enjoy torture, but, sometimes it had to be done. " Now, can we finally get on important matters?"

Shiy was conflicted, on one hand, he wanted to make sure that Janset was safe, but, his loyalty to the Eastern Empire was too great for him to just betray his country.

-" How can I be sure that she will be safe?" Shiy bit his lips as anxiety took over his mind.

-" My words, if this isn't enough I'm sorry."

Shiy face darkened, he hadn't an ounce of trust towards the group, but, the thought of Janset's death made his heart waver. " It depends."

Thorin perked his eyebrows as he didn't fully understand what the man meant. " It depends on what?"

-" What do you want from me." Shiy lowered his face in shame, he seriously hated himself for succumbing to the man's words.

-" Well..." Thorin thought deeply about his first question. " Why don't we start with what your companion said, something about drinking your Emperor Blood?"

Shiy closed his eyes as he wallowed in misery, if the man had questioned him about the camp structure, army composition, or even about shift schedules he wouldn't think twice before spewing everything he knew.

However, answering the man's question wouldn't be just betraying the Eastern Empire, but, the Sun Emperor himself, a being that Shiy worshiped as a god.

-" I-I-I'm sorry, I can't answer that."

Thorin sighed in disappointment, for a moment he thought that he could get the answers he wanted without dirtying his hands.

Thorin gripped the black chains as he took a deep breath. " Do you know what material this chain is made of?"

Shiy shook his head as he didn't have the strength to speak any longer.

-" This material is quite rare, even the Sun God Chruch with all its riches can only get their hands on a few ounces per year." Thorin gave the man a pitiful look before continuing. " We call it the Sun Devouring Metal, legends say that this metal is only found in the depths of the abyss, the lands where the drow resides."

Shiy eyes widened as he grew shocked by the information, but, his surprise turned into horror as Thorin continued.

-" And this metal feeds itself from Aether." Thorin pressed the chains on the man's face, which instantly started to sizzle.

Shiy let out a guttural scream as he felt his face burn away, the pain wasn't only physical, as he felt the energy deep inside him go rampage trying.

-" It's better if you can give the answers I want." Thorin's voice was emotionless as he pressed the chain with even more force on the man's face. " I'm not a person who takes pleasure in this, but, I won't spare you, nor your companion."

Shiy gritted his teeth as he tried to resist the pain, yet, he couldn't help but let screams filled with agony escape.

Oppius laughed joyfully as he delighted himself with the man's scream, he considered scenes like this one of the best things to watch.

Thorin's eyes wavered as he saw how happy Oppius was, and took the chain away from the Shiy's face. -" Still won't talk?"

-" I can't betray the Sun Emperor." Shiy swallowed a mixture of saliva and blood as he spoke, however, Thorin could sense that his resolution was wavering.

Oppius smirked as he felt the desire to break the man, and his futile resistance. " Aren't you being too soft on him? He is an enemy after all." Oppius grabbed one of the tools he had prepared and continued. " Just give me an hour with him and that woman, and I'm sure that will get whatever you want from them."

-" Sigh..." Thorin didn't want to do this, as he knew that Oppius's methods were too gruesome, but, they didn't have much time. "It looks like I don't have another option." Thorin gave the man one last look filled with pity and left the room, returning shortly after with the woman.

Shiy bit his lips as he saw Janset, he was supposed to be happy that she was alive, but, he knew that whatever came next would be worse than death.

-" This was your choice." Thorin threw the woman on the ground next to Oppius and sat on his chair again, this time with his eyes closed.

Oppius strapped the woman into another one of the columns in the room, she was faced directly with the man. Oppius wanted the man to have a good view of the spectacle that he was about to perform.
