As Hai Yun woke up, the first thing he noticed was that his arms had shrunk.
However not to the size of a newborn baby, but rather they seemed like someone in their pre-teens!
“What the Hell! Why am I not a baby?”
That’s right, he found himself in the body of a 13 year old boy laying on a hard wooden floor.
This boy’s name was alarmingly, the same as his, but he lived in the Hai Clan on the Western Sea Territory. This territory was on the Western Side of the Scarlet Flame Continent. This Hai Yun was a brat and had been indulged by a pair of loving parents. No matter where his interests lie, they would give all to him. This spoiled nutcase didn’t have to worry about anything!
His father was the only candidate for the Hai Clan’s patriarch and his mother was the only descendant of the Yun Clan’s patriarch. Thus, he would inherit everything in both clans. Supposedly this whole system had been planned out in order to ensure peace in this region and allow it to prosper. The four major clans: Hai, Yun, Qing and Qin decided that each of their patriarchs would take the Sole Heir pill. This pill’s basic function was that the man who ate it would only have a single child in his life, and depending on its type, that child would either be a boy or a girl.
The agreement between the four clans went as such; the Hai and Qin clan’s patriarchs would have a single son and the Yun and Qing clan’s patriarchs would have a single daughter. This way, the Hai and Yun clans would merge and the Qin and Qing clans would do the same. Then, based on a martial tournament between the heirs of the Hai and Qin clans, the winner would take the male sole heir pill while the loser would take the female one.
During the tournament Hai Yun’s father, Hai Cang Qiong, defeated Qin Wentian, and took the male sole heir pill. Thus Hai Yun was born and he would marry Qin Wentian’s daughter, making the Hai Clan the only powerful influence remaining in the Western Sea Territory. As the future master of the Western Sea Territory, this Hai Yun knew no limits.

But the more pressing concern was, how did the Alchemist Hai Yun end up reincarnating into another human’s body? When this Hai Yun died, did it open up a body and allow the Hai Yun who consumed the elixir’s soul to transmigrate into this body?
However, this would indicate that this lazy, snobbish, self-indulgent Hai Yun had died and turned into a corpse! Simply the thought of it sent chills down his new spine. Not only was the feeling of possessing a corpse uncomfortable to think about, it made Hai Yun wonder if he would become influenced by any bad habits the previous owner of this body had…
“No. I refuse to believe that my pill screwed up. Something was probably suppressing my memory for these 13 years… Maybe I can only regain my memories after turning 13! The next time I give this a go, I should probably see if I end up in another 13 year old’s body.”
However this resolve was completely shaken when he stood up the next moment.
“This… How can this… Isn’t this..!”
Being from an alchemy sect which refined all kinds of elixirs, he was naturally familiar with medicines and poisons. And when he stood up from the floor, he clearly smelled one such poison. This poison could be applied to any physical object, such as, in this case, Hai Yun’s clothes.
This poison was a slow death type, and after many years of having it on one’s body, the person would begin to lose his frame of mind and in three years, die. It was called Bone Sheering Poison, and the reason was because it would seep into your bones after contact, not circulating in your blood, but rather destroying all of your bone marrow!
For this poison to be lingering around on Hai Yun’s clothes meant that the previous Hai Yun who had owned this body was assassinated. The assassin probably never expected for the corpse to attract the other Hai Yun’s soul after taking the elixir. With the number of people this rascal had wantonly offended, it was nearly impossible to determine who wanted him dead. So the new occupant was already faced with the dilemma of who the heck wanted his life?!?!
Yet, this was not the greatest concern. Right now he had to dispel the bone sheering poison and regrow his bone marrow so as to not die again! If he could figure out what supplies were available then dealing with something like this would certainly not be an issue.
“Liu Yuntao!” Hai Yun called his new bodyguard.
“Reporting to young master!” an immediate reply came from beyond the door.
“Liu Yuntao, lead me to the library,” Hai Yun demanded.
Library? Liu Yuntao was alarmed. Did he hear wrong? The young master almost never asked to go to the library! Could he have possibly meant something else?
Although confused, he did not hesitate, nor question the young master’s decision, and with a nod of his head, he obediently led the way.
