CHAPTER 16 – HAI CLAN MAIN BRANCH ARRIVES
In the Qin clan manor.
Elder Nan gong carefully watched over his disciples as they sat in a meditative posture, quietly cultivating the energy of the heaven and earth.
Suddenly someone barged through the door. It was Qin Cheng and she was completely panic stricken.
“Master! Please help, my family allied with the Qing clan to fight with the Hai family. They think the Hai clan tried to assassinate my mother!” Qin Cheng knelt on the floor near Elder Nan gong’s feet as she kowtowed with tears in her eyes.
Elder Nan gong was completely stunned. However he did not hesitate, “Child, lift your head, as your master I should interfere in this matter. There is no reason to beg. Where are they fighting, lead me there”.
…
On the southern side of central Island.
“Is that the place where the Divine Beast Physique awoke?” a young man no older than 17 stood atop an outcropping. He was followed by 2 people. The person behind him on the left was an elderly man at the Spirit Blood stage. While on the right there was a young girl who appeared no older than 13. She was the most recently awakened person in the Hai Clan Main branch.
The Young man was the youngest son of the Hai clan main family’s patriarch. Just as the Hai Clan branch family had expected, the main clan had indeed sent him here to use the previous agreement with the branch family in order to rope in the girl with the divine beast physique.
However the main family was not nearly as inconsiderate as the branch family had expected. The young girl following him was also a talent of the main branch. If the branch family’s young master, who was supposed to be awakening in a few days had a decent amount of talent, they were willing to let him marry into their main family. Her job was precisely to be the bride replacement.
However she was naturally not anywhere near the top talent in the new generation, as there was simply too much discrepancy between a top talent of the Hai clan main family and what they expected from this branch family.
The young man was named Hai Gui. The young girl was his cousin named Hai Qing Xue. The old man was another branch family’s elder, sent here for security.
The trio calmly walked down toward the city, however their faces remained bland, for to them, this place was considerably lacking. Upon entering the town they quickly headed towards where the Hai Clan branch family’s manor was supposed to be. None of them held much expectation in this place, so they did not linger near any of the stalls.
However when they finally arrived, they really were alarmed with the huge commotion. Before they could make move though to question exactly what was happening a powerful voice boomed through the square.
“STAND DOWN!”
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The moment these words echoed the old man’s eyes shook. This voice… it was that of Elder Nan gong from the holy music pavilion. He was a very well known figure on the continent as the traveling Musician. It was not that Hai clan was not aware that the Holy Music Pavilion wanted to rope in the girl with the Holy Beast physique, however they never expected one of the supreme elders to come personally!
It should be known that his two eldest apprentice would be a match for this old man. And the younger of the two was only 19!
“Elder Nan Gong! Please help my family get justice! The despicable Hai Clan actually tried to murder the mother of your new apprentice!” Qing Zhong pleaded. There was no longer the haughtiness of a clan patriarch, instead he tried to appeal to Elder Nan Gong as if it was Elder Nan Gong who had been insulted by this attack by saying “your new apprentice’s mother” instead of “my daughter”.
“Shameless! You don’t even know that we really did it!” Hai Duan yelled in indignation.
“You still dare to deny it! Your own servant confessed against you!” Qin Wu retorted.
“Nonsense! Have you seen his condition! If you beat someone enough then whether it is true or not they would still agree with everything you say!” As he said this the Hai clan members nodded their heads in agreement while the opposing two clans seemed to become angrier.
“I DO NOT CARE WHAT HAPPENED! THE THREE OF YOUR CLANS WILL NOT FIGHT TO THE DEATH IN FRONT OF ME!” Elder Nan Gong suddenly rose into the air, as if he were a celestial being about to ascend to heaven. His aura was unleashed and the entire world seemed to become a faint green, as all those who had been injured could visibly see their injuries healing as a gentle tune began to play in the background. It seemed like the very fibers of the world were reacting to the music and rhythmically dancing to the tune.
The wind became gentler and cooler and the entire street stilled.
“Thank you elder for intervening and keeping the violence at bay. Our Hai family main branch will certainly look into this incidence and give everyone a suitable explanation! If it truly was our branch family acting unruly, then we would like to apologize before hand to everyone for any offense which has been committed,” Hai Gui spoke up from within the crowd.
Instantly all eyes narrowed on the direction of his voice. Did he just say… Hai Clan Main Branch?!?!
Elder Nan Gong narrowed his eyes. He was certainly no fool, he too had planned t carefully investigate this matter, but by taking the responsibility on themselves in such a way, the Hai Clan main branch had successfully made it to so he can no longer inquire in the open. In such a quick exchange, before he could even say anything, he had been limited out of this investigation!
“So be it!” he sighed before retracting his aura.
Hidden in a corner of the crowd calmly watching this whole scene two sharp eyes glinted.
“Master, do you have any idea on what is going on?!?!” Hai Yun questioned under his hood. He had planned to come back and sneak into the manor, since everyone was supposed to be pretending that he had not gone anywhere. He had clearly outlined in his letter that they should not leak his disappearance and that they should not worry about it either yet, why did Qin Wu say that his grandfather blamed the Qin family for his disappearance?
“It is exactly what you heard. I am actually quite weak right now so I can’t pry into their minds without being noticed,” Xue Yi replied.
At this moment Si Wang exited from a in between his eye brows in a miniature form. “I can try digging into their minds, I should have enough power for now”
“Don’t!” Hai Yun interrupted.
“mmhh… why?” Si Wang was confused.
“Because, since you can create an image which others will be able to see, then you should pretend to be the supreme expert I mentioned to my clan in the letter,” Hai Yun explained.
Si Wang nodded. Although she could pry into their minds now and figure out exactly what was going on, she still needed to have the strength to create a projection of herself that looked real and could both block and attack for it to be convincing.
Previously, she had revealed herself to Hai Yun for an extensive period of time, but that was inside her temple. Outside would be a completely different story. It was hard to even come out of the temple as the tiny body she was in right now.
As she stared at Hai Yun, she couldn’t help but wonder if her choice was a good one.
