In our strange world there are many odd ingredients in this universe, none more so than blood ingredients. As their prices rise as supplies are disrupted by the War raging. Since it has blood involved and in its name, the farmers the grow these items have been targeted and killed in a tempt to threaten vampire food supplies. There's, however more to these blood ingredients than the blood first having everyday vegetable are a luxury for blood eating beings like Vampires, Arachne and Blurchs.
They have some health benefits like a better complexion and most importantly, the ability to abstain from the blood for an extended period. Other beings apart from vampires who can find their blood far more efficiently, so yes the werewolves are right if they wish to harm vampire then this isn't a wrong way of doing it. They, however, don't do anything for themselves as blood herbs and food are also used by their healers to accelerate the healing of wounded soldiers and many other magical infections and poisons have blood herb in their potion production requirements.
With increases in prices werewolves never having been the long term thinkers and did not have enough to keep up with the soaring prices and the league leaders and agreed to stop attacking farmers but the damage has already been done.
With the sky-high prices, some intuitive entrepreneurs are trying to make most of the opening in the market. Still, these blood plants are an unusual thing to grow, blood ingredients is an overarching concept as they weren't grown naturally from seeds but required outside influences as they are of course necessary to be bathed in blood as they grow. It really isn't that simple, of course, you couldn't go to your local blood bank and grab some human blood.
It's not that simple at all they require blood form magical beings there aren't many of them that are willing to give their blood over willingly to anyone, they tend to use magical domesticated animals. The great bison's a simple animal now but back in the day before they've been breed into submission they'd of charged over anyone how'd even of looked at there magic grass and probably then eat them too. They still do the second part, as several bison farmers are bitten every year, so those farmers that are willing to breed them are fewer and far apart making it an expenive feed.

These magical creatures have lost a lot of their magical potency, the magic society believes that it had something to do with the domestication and their loss of fighting spirits. So even with the barrels of blood that these farmers use the magic in them is weaker so they can either use their own to increase the potency or try their best to receive a higher being's blood from the black market of the individual themselves.
With all the work having being put into gathering the blood that would be needed then you'd need to select what you'd wish to grow. There blood carrots highly-priced in a refine and cultured house, or blood yarrow for it's a precious ingredient for rapidly blood clotting potion to stop the bleed on a battlefield. All of them have different levels of potency needed for them to grow, a blood carrot doesn't need much. At the same time, the Yarrow requires a lot, but how much we couldn't tell you the farmer keeps their secret close to their hearts and the only way would be to apprentice yourself to them. Or you'll need to experiment to find the liquid to effect ratio.
Then once you've grown your food or ingredients which do you sell it too? The vampires who are the vast majority of the customer base for Blood Carrot and become a potential target of werewolves regardless of what a few leaders have said. Do the opposite and grow blood Yarrow become a target for vampires, as they've said nothing on the subject.
Maybe you could wait until the wars overwhelmingly on one side or the other and sell to the one who's winning? It's your life you risk or sell to both and get killed by both we don't care as long as it gives us a story to write.
