The MTTM (Magic to the Moon) movement has been active again now the months are cloudier again and the
non-magical are less likely to spot an unscheduled arrival on its surface.
For many years after the non-magical first announced their intention to go to the moon, there was discussion,
and quite a bit of controversy, as to whether it was even possible.
Some were more concerned of its impact on moon magic. Many Wicca were offended at the idea of walking on
the face of the moon goddess, but there were also those that we intrigued by the possible out comes.
It was with a mixture or awe and horror that Shadow-kind watched the first step of mankind on the surface of a
planetoid that wasn’t Earth.
It was even more of a shock to some when the walk on the moon was achieved without any of the predicted
disasters for desecrating the moon. New disasters were predicted in-stead such as dire consequences for the
astronauts, or moon magic, but moon magic continued to be effective and the astronauts continued to live.
It was then suggested by a few brave youths, that if the mundane could walk on the moon unmolested, then it
should be possible for Shadow-kind to do the same via magic.
Not as easy as it sounds.
There are a lot of factors involved in going to the moon. Getting there is the first problem. A spell had to be
constructed, and then the next question was how large a group could be transported. Food, water and air are
needed as well while on the moon. There is also the technicality of getting back everything that is sent. It
wouldn’t do to leave a baked bean tin behind for and astronauts to find.
Its is till early days and it was decided early on that a sprite would be used as the test subject as they are capable
of maintaining their own bubble of magic and therefore atmosphere. Once was suitably blackmailed. It has
been argued that sprites are attached to the planet’s magic and their bubbles will not work on an alternative
sphere. This is a side curiosity to those interested in the outcome. If one is returned, dead, an autopsy will be
required. This latest attempt was to send a captured sprite called Mimi with a thermos flask of sacred water, a
bag of snack bars and a book on ‘Lakes and Rivers of Britain’.
Mimi was successfully teleported but turned at Uluru in the middle of the Australian desert, rather than on the
intended target. Adjustments will need be made to the next rendition of the spell. Once she’d been retrieved,
she did report a brief glimpse of the inside of a space station while in transit. The MTTM consider this progress
and a moderate success.
The MTTM will continued their work.
On a related note the more ambitious, MTM (Magic to Mars) group, who have already seeded Mars with viruses
and bacteria, since found by the space agency, have successfully teleported a fish to the red planet.
They got back a kipper.
