Tigeron screams in pain. Little bits of lightning are burning his thick fur and creating tiny painful cuts.
I’m afraid Tigeron is dying while dangling from the chains. Tigeron’s fur slowly begins to turn grey. Tigeron moans as his body ages quickly.
Horror continues to hover in front of Tigeron, laughing and chuckling evilly. It is only a matter of time before the sacrifice of Tigeron will make the Screaming Meanie army more powerful. I know if Horror’s army becomes weak, then he will sacrifice another Humanimal, then another, and another.
I know I have to do something fast. “This has to stop,” I grunt.
Maybe I can blow my fire breath at Horror, but then the fire will burn the book that he holds.
Another idea comes to my mind. “Wait, that’s it. If I transform back into my human self then Horror won’t be able to injure me anymore using my Dragon picture.” I think to myself.
I shut my eyes tightly and think about my normal human form.
“Change back,” I whisper.
I open my eyes and my Dragon form is gone. I’ve changed back into my human self.
I smile and quietly chuckle. “It worked. I can’t believe it worked,” I whisper.
I unzip my backpack, pull out my green bottle with the magic potion and drink a little bit of it. The small cuts on my body don’t hurt anymore and fade away. I look up to see if Horror is watching me. He is too busy laughing loudly, hovering in front of Tigeron. Tigeron continues moaning in pain. I quickly crawl over to Megan. I gently raise Megan’s head and shake it.
“Megan. Megan, wake up,” I whisper.
Megan’s eyes slowly open. She to me and smiles. I smile back.
“Daniel. I got Horrors picture from the book. We have to destroy it. It may be our only hope,” whispers Megan.
I look down at the picture of Horror. I nod in agreement. I grab the picture of Horror and hold on to it. Just as I am about to rip it and destroy Horror, I see a giant electric shock wave coming down from the top of the tower. I change back into my Dragon form and cover Megan under me. The picture of Horror slips out of my grasp. A strong wind blows it out of the door.
The shock wave hits. I feel pain but my dragon form protects Megan. I drink more of the magic potion to heal my wounds. Then I change back into my human form.
“The picture,” I whisper.
Horror looks down at me. He gasps. He opens the book and turns the pages to look at the Dragon picture. The Dragon picture fades away revealing a blank paper. Horror frantically rips out the page and crinkles it up. He drops the book.
“No! That’s not fair!” Horror throws the crinkled paper on the ground.
I quickly grab the page and put it in my backpack.
Tigeron sees me in my human. He looks at Horror with a weak smile. “Yes. It’s him,” wheezes Tigeron.
Horror turns to Tigeron and squeezes his hand on Tigeron’s chest. Tigeron moans in pain.
Megan looks up at Tigeron and sees him suffering. “Tigeron, no!” she shouts.
Tigeron lowers his head down. “Destroy the picture of Horror! Destroy it now!” shouts Tigeron.
Tigeron coughs.
Megan and I nod. I notice the book on the ground. I quickly run to the book and grab it. I put the book in my backpack. Then I run to the door. I run out of the tower and Megan follows me. Megan stops. I look back and see fear in her eyes. She is staring at something. I look to see what Megan is staring at. The shattered dirty old bones on the ground are moving around. The skeleton parts are coming back together. Megan squeals in fear and grabs my right arm.
I look around to find Horror’s picture. “There it is!” I shout.
“Where is it?” asks Megan.
The picture catches her eye. The paper is far away in the black mud. Megan steps back and shakes her head. “No, we can’t go in there, it’s too dangerous,” she says.
I shut my eyes and think about my Dragon form. I open my eyes and change back into a Dragon. I jump in the air and glide towards the picture of Horror in the black mud.
“Stay there Megan. I will get the picture,” I say.
I throw my backpack at her. Megan nods and catches the backpack.
Back in the field near Azent Kingdom, Faron, Rormen, and Fen are standing in a circle together. They have no armor on them. Only fur and Rormen’s dark grey thick rhino skin. They are about to start battling with the three Screaming Meanies.
Two Screaming Meanies are standing by General Dread. They are also wearing no armor. General Dread whispers to the two Screaming Meanies.
“Injure them where it hurts the most, make them suffer,” whispers General Dread.
Faron whispers to Rormen and Fen. “Rip them apart piece by piece.”
Rormen folds his arms and nods with a humph. Fen places his hands on his hips and nods. The three Humanimals are ready to attack.
General Dread and the two Screaming Meanies charge at the three Humanimals. Faron, Rormen, and Fen are roaring as they charge at the three Screaming Meanies.
Faron punches General Dread in the chest, Rormen punches a Screaming Meanie in the stomach, and Fen punches a Screaming Meanie in the face.
Faron looks at his fist that is in General Dread’s bony chest. Faron slowly pulls his fist out. He looks at the black mud on his hand then back at General Dread. General Dread chuckles, then punches Faron in the face. Faron falls to the ground on his back. Faron groans in pain. A little red blood drips from his mouth.
Rormen growls at the Screaming Meanie. The Screaming Meanie jumps into the air and punches Rormen in the chest. The Screaming Meanie’s skeleton arm breaks off. Rormen just stares at the Screaming Meanie and growls. Rormen punches the Screaming Meanie and it flies toward the Screaming Meanie army. It hits a couple of them. His bones shatter. Rormen lowers his fist and turns to Fen and the other Screaming Meanie.
The Screaming Meanie is trying to punch Fen in the face, but Fen dodges every punch. He dodges left and right as the punches are coming at him. The Screaming Meanie screams as loud as he can. Fen covers his ears with his hands. The Screaming grabs Fen’s tan furry fox tail and slams Fen onto the ground. Fen jumps up and lands on his feet. The Screaming Meanie tries to punch Fen in the stomach. Fen dodges to the right and grabs the head of the Screaming Meanie. He pulls the head off. The skeleton's body trips and falls to the ground. Fen looks at the head.
“You will never rule this kingdom,” whispers Fen.
Fen turns to Faron and sees that he is being choked by General Dread.
“No,” whispers Fen.
Fen throws the skeleton head at General Dread then grabs the Screaming Meanie’s skeleton body and throws it toward General Dread. General Dread picks up the head and throws it toward the skeleton body. The headlands on the neck.
The Screaming Meanie chuckles evilly. “Yes! My head is back on my body!” it shouts.

Fen smiles and quietly chuckles. He points down at the Screaming Meanie’s feet. The Screaming Meanie looks down at his feet and realizes that they are facing the wrong way.
“My head’s on backward! This is so humiliating!” shouts the Screaming Meanie.
Fen stops smiling and charges at the Screaming Meanie. The Screaming Meanie darts to the side sticks out his foot and trips Fen. Fen falls to the ground. The Screaming Meanie picks up a sharp pointed rock and raises it in the air.
From the front of the Humanimal crowd, Raccoono pulls out an arrow and fires it at the Screaming Meanies head that is attacking Fen. The arrow hits him in the head but it does not stop him.
“No!” shouts Raccoono.
Raccoono runs towards the Screaming Meanie. Fen slowly gets up on his feet. He tries to grab the arm holding the rock to stop it but the Screaming Meanie stabs him in the stomach with the point of the rock. Fen groans in pain and falls to the ground.
Raccoono screams and pulls out his sword. He slices the Screaming Meanie’s skeleton body into pieces. The bony pieces fall to the ground, then they slowly begin coming back together again. Raccoono runs to Fen and kneels by him. The human raccoon starts sobbing. He picks up Fen’s head and looks into his eyes. Fen’s eyes begin to close. A tear rolls down Raccoono’s cheek.
“Raccoono, I’m sorry. I was a fool to think I could battle alone,” says Fen. His voice is quiet and weak.
Raccoono shakes his head. “No Fen. You’re strong. You can make it,” cries Raccoono.
Raccoono takes off his vest to cover the wound on Fen’s stomach.
“It’s going to be all right,” sobs Raccoono.
Rormen notices Fen dying in Raccoono’s arms. Rormen closes his right hand into a fist and shakes it with rage. Rormen turns to the Screaming Meanie that stabbed Fen. Rormen roars and punches the Screaming Meanie’s head and chest slams its bony body to knock it onto the ground and stomps on it repeatedly.
“Die! Die! Die!” shouts Rormen.
Raccoono notices a tiny bit of blood growing on his vest that is covering Fen’s wound. Raccoono takes off his lion cloth and covers the vest. Fen coughs.
“Come on!” shouts Raccoono. “You’re a warrior! You don’t easily get defeated!” shouts Raccoono.
Fen holds onto Raccoono’s right hand. Fen is still choking. “I don’t know what lies ahead of me, but I am not afraid,” grunts Fen.
“Fen, I will avenge you,” cries Raccoono.
Fen shakes his head, then whispers in Raccoono’s ear.
“No, do not seek revenge. It will only lead to a life of misery and pain. Remember me, mourn for me, and live for me, my friend,” says Fen with his last breath.
Raccoono cradles Fen in his arms. Raccoono begins to sob quietly as he holds onto Fen’s head.
Feeon begins to shake his right fist in anger. He places his helmet back on his head. Picks up his body armor, and puts it on too.
Faron is still being choked by General Dread. Through the corner of his eye, Faron notices Raccoono sobbing over Fen’s dead body. Faron growls at General Dread, reveals his wolf claws, and cuts off the skeleton arm that is holding his neck. He runs back towards Feeon and his armor. Faron puts on his armor, then turns and growls ferociously at General Dread. General Dread picks up his arm and runs back toward his army.
Rormen is crushing the Screaming Meanie into dust.
Feeon raises his sword in the air. “No more fighting! No more death! For Fen!” he shouts.
The Humanimals raise their weapons and roar. Feeon runs towards the Screaming Meanie army. The rest of the Humanimals follow him.
General Dread puts on his armor. The Screaming Meanies wait for the Humanimal army to come.
“What are you doing Feeon? Didn’t we just agree that whoever loses the battle will rule Azent Kingdom? Are you breaking our deal Feeon?!” shouts General Dread.
Feeon does not answer. He continues charging at the Screaming Meanie army.
Raccoono slowly stops sobbing. He holds on to Fen’s head and whispers to him.
“I will not have revenge, but I will bring you to justice. I will not let you die in vain, you were a great warrior,” whispers Raccoono.
Raccoono slowly puts Fen’s head down on the ground. Raccoono stands up, draws his sword, and raises it into the air. “We will have justice for Fen!” shouts Raccoono.
Raccoono runs towards the Screaming Meanie army.
I glide over the dead skeletons in the black mud. I am halfway to the picture of Horror. Suddenly, a skeleton hand grabs my Dragon tail. Then another one grabs my arm. I lose my balance and fall into the back mud. The skeletons try to hold me down. I struggle to break free. I break off a skeleton bone but it grows back together again. The skeleton bones begin to cover me like snakes in a pit.
Megan watches from the edge of the mud. She shakes with fear. She is too afraid to help me. What can she do? She doesn’t have any powers.
As I struggle to free myself from the bones, I notice some of the bones gathering together. They form a tall black dirty skeleton. The skeleton grasps a sword in his right hand and walks towards me. The skeleton raises his sword in the air and is ready to stab me. I close my eyes tightly.
The ground begins to shake. The skeleton lowers his sword and looks down. Green plants are popping out of the ground and begin to wrap around the skeleton’s body, pulling him down. I watch as the black skeleton begins cutting the plants, but the more it cuts the more the plants grow. I grunt and try to break the bones that are holding me. I finally break them.
I jump into the air as high as I can to get away from the bones. I look at Megan and point at the plants. Megan shakes her head. “I’m not doing this,” she says.
Megan points at something behind me. I turn around to see what she's pointing at. A half-human eagle with a horse body is standing on the other side of the black mud. He is carrying a sharp pointy spear. A young human coyote is on his back.
The little human coyote is cheering. “Yah! Go Howak the Animataur! Yahoo!”
Howak the Animataur stretches his right hand in front of him. The palm of his hand is glowing green.
I smile at the Animataur. “He’s controlling the plants, Megan!” I shout.
“But is he on our side?” asks Megan.
“He’s controlling the plants. They are wrapping around the skeletons in the ground. So I think he’s on our side. He seems to be a good guy and a good-looking one at that,” I answer.
I search for Horror pictures. I notice it sinking into the black mud. I fly towards the picture. I almost grasp it. Another black skeleton hand grabs my Dragon tail. I turn around and growl at it.
“Let go!” I shout. I struggle to break free.
The black skeleton hand will not let go of my tail.
“Horror! Master!” It shouts with a deep voice to get Horror’s attention.
Horror runs out of the tower and sees me going after his picture in the mud.
Horror points at his picture. “Get it!” he shouts.
Tigeron is still chained up in the tower. He is now old and dying. Tigeron wheezes. His fur is now light grey. He can barely keep his eyes open. “You will not win,” wheezes Tigeron.
Horror runs back into the tower, flies up to Tigeron, and continues to the sacrifice.
The black skeletons are crawling to get to the picture of Horror. I try harder to free my tail, but the black skeleton’s arm will not let go of me.
“No! Horror will never rule! I won’t let him kill another Humanimal for his army! He will not rule anywhere! I won’t let him bring death to this new world! Not while I can do something about it!” I shout.
I growl and breathe in very deeply. I let out my powerful fire breath. My fire hits the black skeleton’s head and burns it. It releases my Dragon tail and covers his burning face with his hands. I grunt at it then turn around to see all of the black skeletons crawling for the picture of Horror. They are almost there. I look back over at the Animataur and the human coyote kid.
“Grab that paper now! It can destroy Horror!” I shout at them.
The Animataur and the human coyote gasp. They notice the black skeletons in the muddy ground, heading for the picture. The human coyote jumps off of the Animatour’s back and begins to run across the black mud to the picture.
“Jonas, get back here, it’s a too dangerous kid!” shouts Howak.
I glide quickly toward the picture of Horror. Black skeleton hands are trying to grab me. I dodge them all.
I finally reach the picture and grab it before the black skeletons reach it. I fly over to Howak and land on the ground next to him. I transform back into my human self. Jonas runs back to where we are. Howak and Jonas look surprised.
The black skeletons turn and begin to crawl toward Megan. They are moving very fast.
“Megan, run now!” I shout.
Megan is paralyzed with fear. She screams in terror.
I look at the picture of Horror. I close my eyes and breathe out. I grasp the top of the picture and I begin to rip it a little.
Horror grunts in pain, gnashing his teeth.
“No, no, no, no, no! Not now! Not now!” shouts Horror.
A small cut appears on Horror’s head and a white light begins to come out of it. There is no blood, just light. Horror screams. The scream hurts my ears but I do not let go of the picture. Horror moves his hand from Tigeron’s chest. Horror falls to the ground and crawls out of the tower. He sees me across the muddy field tearing his picture.
I smile and laugh. “What was that you said? A pathetic weak Earthling boy? So much for weakness. I’m the one with your life in my hands!” I shout.
I rip Horror’s picture in half. Horror screams his last scream as he splits into two pieces. The white light growing in shines out from the middle of his body.
“Nooooo!” Horror screams his last word, then explodes into ashes.
Feeon’s army is charging toward the Screaming Meanies. The Humanimals are about to reach the Screaming Meanies. Suddenly, all of the Screaming Meanies and General Dread begin to scream in pain.
Feeon stops running. “Halt!” he shouts to his Humanimal army.
The Humanimals stop running. Feeon points his sword at the Screaming Meanies and shouts, “Look at them!”
The Screaming Meanies have cracks on their heads and light is coming out.
“What's happening?” Faron asks Feeon.
Feeon lowers his sword. “I think they’re dying,” answers Feeon.
Faron turns to Feeon and chuckles. Faron looks at the Screaming Meanie army. Feeon looks at the Screaming Meanie army then back to Faron. Feeon nods at Faron then kneels on the ground and curls up like an armadillo. General Dread sees Feeon curled up on the ground and knows Feeon is about to send out a lightning shock wave again. General Dread tries to walk toward Feeon but General Dread is too weak.
“Don’t you dare!” shouts General Dread.
Feeon growls quietly. His growl grows louder and louder. The Humanimal army steps away from Feeon. The Humanimals move back by the walls of Azent. Feeon puts his hands and a lightning shock wave bursts out of them.
The wave grows very large and moves towards the Screaming Meanie army. General Dread screams with fear. The Screaming Meanies scream as the lightning shock wave moves towards them. The wave hits the Screaming Meanie army and they begin exploding. There is dust everywhere as the skeleton bones explode into pieces.
The wave fades into the dust. The dust blows away to reveal the Screaming Meanie bones shattered in pieces all over the ground. The bones continue to shatter until they are nothing but ashes. The wind blows the ashes away.
