Chapter 20: Feeon’s sickness

Chapter 20: Feeon’s sickness

The blue muscular werewolf sits on his throne for four days. He moves his throne to the window. He waits, hoping that the two Earthlings will return safely. He manages to stay alive even without filling his belly with food or without a wink of sleep. Feeon watches the terrible dark storm as it pours hard rain all over Azent Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the brown human bull and Faron, the prince of Azent, are standing right in front of Feeon’s tower. They stare and watch the top window. Some Humanimals in Azent say that Feeon has lost his mind and some say that Feeon is too upset about the Earthling boy and that he no longer cares for his kingdom.

“How long has he been in his tower?” asks the human bull.

Faron sighs and walks to a bench to sit. “Ever since Daniel left on his quest, my father’s been in that tower and hasn’t left,” answers Faron.

The human bull grunts after Faron mentions the male Earthling. The human bull walks up to Faron and sits with him. “What makes this boy so important to Feeon?” asks the human bull.

“I don’t know. All I know is that my father has been waiting for this human boy for a long time. Even before I was born,” answers Faron.

The angry human bull grunts and walks up to the entrance of Feeon’s tower.

“What are you doing?” asks Faron.

The human bull opens the door and walks into the tower. He doesn’t have the nerve to answer Faron’s question. Faron gets up and walks fast to the human bull. Faron closes the door behind him.

“What are you doing?” asks Faron.

The human bull grunts and bangs his chest. “What does it look like? I am going to ask your father about the boy that he has been waiting for and why he thinks he’s so important!” bursts the human bull.

The human bull continues to walk up the spiral stairs that lead to the top of the tower. It takes him a few minutes to get to the top. The human bull opens the throne room doors and walks in to find Feeon.

“There he is.” The human bull points near the window.

The human bull walks up to Feeon by the window. “Your majesty,” the human bull calls.

Feeon turns his head and looks at Faron. Feeon’s face looks depressed. He does not look healthy either.

The human bull and Faron can hear the rumbling in Feeon’s tummy. “Father,” says Faron.

Feeon nods to answer.

The human bull calms his stress. “Are you all right my king?” he asks.

Feeon shakes his head to respond.

“Can you please talk to us?” asks the human bull.

Feeon just sits still.

“Do you want to say something to us, just to respond?” asks the human bull.

Feeon shakes his head again. The human bull turns to Faron. Faron lifts his shoulders. They do not understand why Feeon is acting so quiet and depressed. The human bull sighs and sits on the ground. He folds his arms and lowers his head. The human bull shakes his head with frustration.

“Our king is lost in his animal form just as I feared. We will all end up like him, confused and lost,” the human bull whispers.

Faron walks to Feeon and gently places his right hand on his right shoulder. Feeon turns to Faron. The grey werewolf looks into his father’s eyes. Faron’s eyes widen with fear. He can see red lines in Feeon’s eyes.

“Father, say something,” says Faron.

Feeon gently pushes Faron away and starts coughing roughly. “My throat hurts when I talk,” says Feeon with a hoarse voice.

His voice sounds very bad. He can barely breathe and he pants slowly.

“We have to get him to bed,” says the human bull.

The human bull picks up Feeon and takes him to his bedroom. He gently puts Feeon down on his queen size bed. “I’ll get Veeule, he’ll know what to do,” says the human bull.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

The human bull runs out of the bedroom. Faron kneels by Feeon’s bed. He stares at Feeon and touches his head.

“Ow!” shouts Faron.

Feeon’s head feels very hot, like hot coals in a fire. “What’s happening to you father?” asks Faron.

Faron blows on his right hand where he touched his father’s head. Faron’s furry hand looks a little burnt.

“It’s like touching fire,” says Faron.

Faron looks at Feeon’s pillow as Feeon lays his head on it. It does not catch fire and neither does Feeon’s bed or his fur. “What is this feeling that you have father?” asks Faron.

“If you keep asking yourself, then you will not find the answer,” says a voice behind Faron.

Faron turns behind to see who is talking. It is the old human Baboon, Veeule. He has a brown bag of supplies with him.

Faron sighs in relief. “Finally, you’re here. Do you know what’s happening to my father,” Faron asks Veeule.

Veeule walks to Feeon’s bed.

Veeule touches Feeon’s head. “Ow, that’s hot,” whispers Veeule.

“Well, do you know what’s going on with my father? Is he dying?” Faron covers his mouth in shock.

Veeule thinks for a moment and looks at his hand. It looks a little burnt. “I have never seen sickness like this before,” answers Veeule.

Faron widens his eyes. “What do you mean, old one?” asks Faron

Faron feels afraid of his father dying because he is afraid to rule over Azent kingdom.

Faron kneels by Feeon’s bed. “Then what is it?” asks Faron.

Veeule lowers his right hand. “It is a human sickness, I think,” answers Veeule.

“Human sickness, what's that?” asks Faron.

Veeule gets out a small thermometer from his brown bag. “I got this from the old man. It is a thermometer. It measures his temperature,” says Veeule.

“When you mean human sickness, do you mean he will die?” asks Faron with a smile.

Veeule sighs then opens Feeon’s mouth and put the thermometer under Feeon’s tongue.

“I don’t think so. It’s just a sickness. I don’t think it means anything,” says Veeule.

Faron gasps and turns back to Feeon. “What should we do?” asks Faron.

Veeule gets out a brown towel from his brown bag. “He needs some rest and must not talk. Not until he’s well again,” answers Veeule.

Veeule gives Faron the brown towel. “Please get a bucket, fill it up with cold water, and then come right back,” says Veeule.

Faron walks to the door.

He stops and turns back to Veeule. “My father can’t talk or he must not talk?” asks Faron.

“He must not talk. It might be the only thing to keep his throat from hurting. Now, go and get that cold water and hurry,” answers Veeule.

Faron nods and opens the exit door of the throne room. He runs down the tower stairs and then into the village. He looks around to see if there is any sign of a river, but there is none on the site. He runs to the kingdom gates and opens them. The gates make a big squeaking noise. Most of the Humanimals stare at Faron as he is desperately opening the gates. Some are whispering one to another. Finally, Faron gets to the other side of the gates and closes them. He runs up to Azent Lake. The grey human bull is still guarding the gates. He can see Faron running towards the lake.

“Where is he going? And why does he have a bucket and a towel?” he asks himself.

The gray human bull rubs his head. He is very curious. He wants to see what Faron is doing, but he doesn’t want to leave his guard post.

Faron keeps on running. He does not care about the branches that he hits or the rocks that he steps on, or his feet getting sore. Finally, he finds the lake of Azent. He runs to it and dumps the bucket in the water. The bucket is filling up. Faron holds the bucket and runs away from the lake. Faron tries not to dump the water out of the bucket. Finally, he reaches the gates of Azent.

“I hope that he does not die,” whispers Faron to himself.

Faron opens the gates, goes in, and then closes them. He turns around and runs to the tower. He opens the tower door and closes it. He runs up the tower stairs. He opens the throne door and closes it. He runs to Veeule.

Faron puts the bucket down by Veeule. “Here you go.” Faron pants.

Veeule gets up, and walks away, leaving the bag behind him.

“Where are you going?” asks Faron.

Veeule turns back to Faron. “I’ll see about making a potion for the king’s sickness. I will need at least four days,” says Veeule.

“But what if the potion that you make doesn’t work?” asks Faron.

Veeule shuts his eyes and shakes his head. “Then…we have to find Daniel and the others that are with him,” answers Veeule.

Faron lifts his shoulders. “Why them?” asks Faron.

Veeule opens his eyes. “Because they have the Magic Potion,” answers Veeule.

The old human Baboon walks to the door.

Faron walks up to Veeule. “Why the magic potion, I mean any potion will work right?” asks Faron.

Veeule opens the door. “Trust me. The magic potion that Daniel has is unlike any other potion,” answers Veeule.

Veeule closes the door as he leaves the throne room. Faron feels very confused and worried because of what Veeule just said to him. Faron turns back to Feeon. Feeon’s eyes are shut and his mouth is open. He pants heavily. His hands lay on his abs. Faron puts the towel in the bucket of water and squeezes some of the water out. He gently places the damp towel on Feeon’s head. As the towel touches Feeon’s head, he groans very quietly.

Faron walks into Feeon’s bathroom and grabs two more brown towels. He puts one damp towel on Feeon’s chest. Then gently moves Feeon’s hands off of his abs and puts the last damp towel on the abs. After Faron is done putting towels on Feeon’s body he kneels by the bed. “Father,” says Feeon.

But Feeon does not answer him as he rests on his bed. “I don’t know if you can hear me. I am afraid of what might happen to you because I…” Faron stops for a moment.

“Because I am not sure if I can take your place to rule this kingdom.” Faron sniffs.

“Besides, I miss my mother. I miss her so much and I know that you miss her too. I know that you’ve been drinking wine ever since we changed into Humanimals. But you have stopped because of this Earthling boy. You have such faith in this boy and some others might feel the same. I don’t understand why this boy is so important, but I trust you and I know you I trust him,” says Faron.

Faron gets up.

“If you need me I will be sitting by your window and hoping that the Earthling will come back soon,” says Faron.

Faron grabs a wooden chair and places it next to the window. He sits on the chair, waiting.
