Chapter 12 - Resurrection

Chapter 12 - Resurrection

Now finished healing Baal, Terron killed the light in his hands and clenched his fists, feeling God's Divinity slowly leaving his body.

He then heard footsteps and the sound of someone taking in a sharp breath behind him. And when he suddenly felt a rough hand touch his shoulder, he quickly turned around and spread his arms wide, as he exclaimed with a smile on his face.

"Huron..!! How are you, brother?"

Huron's face instantly scrunched up when he heard Terron's voice, and was about to say something, when Terron suddenly pulled him close and placed his arm around Huron's shoulder. He then whispered,

"Brother, help me get out of here, will you? I think I'll collapse in a couple of minutes."

Huron was about to ask what Terron meant by that, when he was once again interrupted by a loud yell behind him.

"Lord Huron..! A survivor..!"

Both the brothers turned their head towards where the sound came from, only to see Kael, the apprentice of Uriel, carrying the scorched body of what seemed to be a young woman.

Seeing the woman in Kael's hands, Terron couldn't help but raise his eyebrows and mutter to himself,

"Ocean?"

Hearing what his brother said, Huron turned his head towards him and asked,

"Ocean..? Isaac's daughter…? The fucking Hybrid..?"

Terron kept his mouth shut, but still nodded his head to Huron's question. Huron was about to ask another question when Terron gestured for him to stay silent. Sighing, Huron heeded his brother's request, deciding to stay silent for now and slowly approached Kael.

Terron, however, looked back at the unconscious Baal, still lying on the ground. His breathing was now steady and didn't seem to be at risk of dying anymore. He still couldn't stop wondering about why God went through the trouble of sending Metatron to stop their fight, just so he could spare Baal's life.

But with his trust in God already being in its peak, Terron shook his head and decided to not think about it anymore. He then carefully observed Baal's physical state, and concluding that he wasn't going to wake up for a couple of days, he walked towards his brother, to where Ocean was.

As he walked towards them, Terron could see Huron carefully inspecting Ocean's body, while Kael watched on the sideline with curious and amazed eyes. Terron couldn't help but smirk, seeing this. To think his little brother was this popular….

Somehow, it made him proud.

When Terron arrived at Huron's position, however, his face couldn't help but turn serious when he saw Ocean's body. She was barely breathing and was burnt from head to toe, while Mana, Holy Power, and Divinity, rampaged inside her body. He was surprised, honestly, that no one else had noticed it yet, but realizing the Divinity within him was probably enhancing his ability to perceive energy, his surprise instantly went away.

Terron crouched down and placed his palm over Ocean's belly, trying to get a better feeling of the rampaging energies inside her, when he heard Huron's voice,

"Brother."

Terron turned to face him and saw that Huron was already aware of what was happening inside her body. Huron then said,

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"We can probably try and repair her body with a Grand Healing spell with all the Angels here, but even if we did…. her soul…"

Hearing his brother's words, Terron looked at Ocean's body and roused up what little Holy Power he managed to restore. His eyes then peered through her physical form, revealing Ocean's crumbling soul.

Seeing her soul slowly crumbling to pieces, Terron suddenly heard a faint voice inside his head. It was telling him to save her, to restore her dying soul….

The voice was… giving him permission…

Terron, quickly coming to a decision, gathered all the remaining Divinity he had within him, and with his voice enchanted by Divinity, he gritted his teeth as he said,

"[ Everyone, stay back…]"

Exhausted, Lucifer slowly descended to the ground. He then swept his gaze towards his surroundings and admired the destruction Terron had caused with awe-filled eyes.

Lucifer was never really a big fan of Terron. He didn't like how people respected him when he basically did nothing most of the time, and was mad at the fact that he treated Lord Huron, who was infinitely way better than him, so casually. There were still many more reasons why he didn't like Terron, but no matter how much he didn't like him, he had to admit that Terron was definitely one of the strongest Angels in Heaven…

Lucifer then heard the sound of flapping wings above him, making him raise his head, and saw Michael, his apprentice, coming towards him.

Landing beside Lucifer, the master and apprentice silently gazed at their surroundings. They exchanged no words and only watched as they saw Metatron talking with Terron, and covered their ears when Terron cursed after Metatron suddenly disappeared.

Their ears couldn't help but perk up though when they heard Kael yell that there was a survivor. Both of them were shocked, to be honest, about the fact that someone managed to survive this catastrophic event.

So they unfolded their wings and prepared to fly towards Kael's location, when both of them suddenly heard Terron's voice,

"[ Everyone, stay back…]"

Rooted in place, Lucifer and Michael were no longer capable of moving their bodies. Their eyes then went wide when they saw a massive pillar of golden light, rising to the sky from where Terron was. They then felt a chill run down their spine, because for the second time today, they heard another Sacred Prayer…

"[ God, The Creator and Destroyer. ]"

Lucifer and Michael looked up, and saw the sky suddenly lighting up in a blinding and radiant, golden light. The sound of thunder was then heard as golden bolts of lighting continuously raged in the sky, forcing all the Angels in the area to kneel and bow their heads.

"[ God, The Harbinger of Life and Death. ]"

The golden lightning raged even more, lighting up the entire sky, making everyone shake in fear as they kneeled.

"[ Your child shall ask you once more…. ]"

The pressure they felt then rose, forcing the Angels to smash their heads into the ground as they gritted their teeth and endured God's raw Divinity.

"[ By your will, bless this mortal's soul…. ]"

The sky then cracked, revealing the sacred grounds of Heaven, and the Seven Virtues sweating profusely as they tried their best to repair the dimensional crack.

"[ And with your power, fill me with strength…. ]"

And then, the world turned silent. Like it had all been a lie, the rumbling of thunder and lightning could no longer be heard….

And in this silent world, where absolutely no sound traveled, every Angel in the area held their breath as they waited for whatever was going to happen next, when they suddenly heard Terron say,

"[ Divine Spell: Resurrection. ]"

Immediately after, the hundreds of bolts of lighting crackling in the sky fell towards Ocean's body at the same time. And with the sudden surge of Divinity descending into the mortal world, all the Angels suddenly went limp as they simultaneously lost their consciousness….

While Terron, the only person left standing, had a big grin on his face as he saw Ocean's body and soul being repaired at a rapid pace by God's Divinity.

And after seeing her body completely healed, it didn't take long for Terron, who had been pushing himself this whole time, to slowly lose his consciousness with a grin on his face….

In the once barren land of the outskirts of Petrichor, a rare sight could be seen.

As the red sun in the clear blue sky lit up the world with its light, numerous Angels laid on the ground, unconscious. One of them squirmed as he slowly regained his consciousness, and with his fatigued body, he forced himself up and walked towards the unconscious Terron, laying on the ground. He then called out,

"Oi, Brother."

Huron lightly kicked Terron's arm to see if he was awake, but seeing his arm was helplessly flopping, Huron was convinced that Terron was truly unconscious.

Huron then sighed as he crouched and placed his palm on Terron's chest, giving him a bit of his Holy Power to help him recover faster. He then looked at Ocean, who looked even better than before, lying besides his brother.

If he had to be honest, Huron really didn't really care much about Ocean's life. In fact, he couldn't quite understand why his brother drained himself to the point of passing out, just to save the life of a mortal that he himself left to die all those years ago.

But at the same time, he didn't really care much about what Terron did. He trusted his brother as much as he trusted God. And just like God, Terron must've had a good reason for doing all of this.

For doing a Sacred Prayer twice in the same day….

For making all the Angels in the area pass out, leaving them vulnerable….

And for resurrecting Ocean, a child between a Human and a Fiend….

"Ugh…"

Huron suddenly heard the sound of groaning, cutting off his thoughts. He lowered his head and saw Terron slowly opening his eyes as he rubbed his temples. Huron then did a small wave and greeted him,

"Hello, brother."

Hearing his brother's voice, Terron smirked as he slowly raised himself and stretched his arms. He looked around his surroundings, seeing all the Angels lying limp on the ground, unconscious, making him let out a soft sigh.

Huron, seeing his brother act like that, couldn't hold it any longer and asked,

"Why did you do it, brother? Why did you push yourself so hard just for the life of this Hybrid?"

Huron then waited. He waited for Terron's absolute, grand reason as to why he burned himself out and sacrificed so much to save a mortal's life—

"I just felt like doing it, to be honest…"

Terron replied immediately as he yawned and covered his mouth. Hearing Terron's answer, Huron's mind went blank as he stared at his brother.

Huron, thinking about what he and all the Angels here went through today because of Terron, couldn't control his rage anymore, and with fist tightly clenched, he punched Terron directly in the face, sending him flying a few feet into the air.
