Monopoly

Perseus looted the rabbit's corpse. Aside from the fur and gold that he got from the first kill, he got a few regular copper coins from it too littered around the body. Perseus watched as the corpse started to dissolve into little light particles.

He nodded in respect of the giant rabbit's speed and watched as the last particle of light started to fade out in the sky.

Perseus started searching for Jack who he had just thrown away a few minutes ago. He found Jack laying on a bush his entire body sprawled out. Jack had to be shaken awake, when he finally came to, he started looking around urgently for the giant rabbit. After Perseus's explanation, Jack started to calm down.

Usually, kids at Jacks's age would still be shaken up by a giant murderous rabbit trying to skewer then alive. Be he wasn't, instead he looked at Perseus with a new look in his eyes. Even though Jack didn't see Perseus fight against the monster he was sure that he did in a skilled way and killed it quickly.

Every moment Perseus did something, Jack just got more and more respect for him. He was truly thankful to the mysterious person who had sent him here to the silver wings guild. Even Perseus was smiling, he must have been joyful that Jack wasn't hurt!

Tears started to form in Jack's eyes, he started to feel like he had a place he could finally rest at and be safe. He remembered what other people had called them, a home if he remembered correctly.

He looked in the sky and thought about the man who had caught him and instead of punishing him gave him something he would have only dreamed about. Jack promised himself that someday he would repay the man for all that he had done.

Jason didn't know until much later, but he had gotten a source of steady income for his points on that day.

Perseus on the other hand was thinking hard, even though he was thinking about a large problem he had a large smile on his face, and why not? He had just gained 40% of the money he needed in one go, and he had just leveled up a few times too. Jack had also gotten stronger even though all he did was run, and he even failed at that part too.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Jack was now level 8 a large jump from his previous level 4. Perseus could even see Jack starting to discover the strength he had just gained. Jack was clenching his fist and moving his body in excitement. Jack as an NPC couldn't allocate points in a status, instead, his body would do it subconsciously. Sometime when doing this a stat point could get lost resulting in some NPCs being weaker then players in terms of stat points even when they were the same level. But that was only for regular NPC, well-trained ones like the rose knights could even have stat bonuses depending on their skill, job, or items.

Perseus had to see how Jack's body would use the stat points and in what direction he should be trained in.

Letting Jack explore in amazement the newfound strength in his body with childlike wonder, Perseus started to notice that Jack's arms were covered in scars. When Jack raised his hands in excitement the torn sleeve on his cloths fell back revealing a tattoo of beasts shredding something apart.

The tattoo was gruesome, and if Perseus didn't know that Jack was raised in the streets he also would have been put back like many of the other innocent people who had accidentally seen the tattoo before.

"Jack" He called out, letting the formerly joyful Jack straighten up and immediately faced Perseus with a small smile still left on his face. Perseus pointed toward a tree in the vicinity, run toward that tree, and try and cut it in half.

Perseus knew that Jack couldn't cut a 3-meter wide tree, but he had nothing else to try so whatever.

Jack turned and focused his attention on the tree that was pointed out. He dropped his body to a lower stance and swiftly ran toward the tree. His sword sheathed behind his waist. He started to get closer to the tree and let one of his hands touch the hilt of the sword, he didn't pull it out completely. Instead, he only pulled on it enough to know how strong it would swing-out.

Jack started to move and dodge he started to jump around like a pro parkour artist. Jack started using natural ramp of trees to gain height and before he knew it, he was wall-jumping through trees.

He had finally reached the tree that was pointed out, but Jack was in midair falling toward the middle part of the tree with no time for him to pull out his sword properly and swing with both hands.

Jack dropped his right hand and felt the sword hanging on his waist, he grabbed the hilt and pulled out as fast as he could.

*Clang*

Jack had pulled out his sword like a dagger and swung his sword with the blade below his hands, not on top. What was surprising was that Jack had pulled off the swing decently. You could see that gash in the tree caused by Jack.

Jack looked and saw that he wasn't able to cut the tree in two. Bitterness started to flood into his heart, to Jack he was embarrassed and upset, be he didn't know that he was learning to not be self-reliant on stat points, which would be one of the greatest lessons for him.

Perseus was observing everything and he already knew exactly what Jack was suited to be, in fact, it could be called a textbook case. It may have been the environment that Jack was living in, or his skill in being pickpocket or the enclosed spaces of the alleyways.

But Jack was born to be a thief or more specifically a rouge.
