Two years ago, on the rooftop of a skyscraper in the city. The night sky spread out before the girl with shoulder length blonde hair as she stood on the edge. She held a katana with blood dripping off the blood in one hand. In her other, a sheath held in a backwards grip along her arm. Were Renya to stretch out her shealthed arm, she'd look like a praying mantis, she thought that to herself as she stared into the night sky.
Renya eyes moved the city below, and she smiled, thinking of all the people she hadn't met yet. Those bonds between them were so sweet. Much sweeter to see them broken. If it was by her machinations that love between people was broken, she would be satisfied. And she was satisfied many times. The beauty of those moments was Renya's treasure. That was- and is- Renya's way of living.
Really, Renya thought, the world would be better off without someone who loves destroying love. There's no place for someone as stupid as me. However- that calculation was incorrect. Others would want Renya to die, Renya didn't wish to die. And so the answer is-
Renya turned and pointed her bloodied katana at a girl in white clothing with a silver glove and and iron fan in her hand.
"Take my life." Renya told Syon.
Syon's spread out iron fan snapped with a twist of her wrist into a neat line. Syon pushed it against her temple, gingerly.
"Are you offering your life to me? In it's entirety?"
Renya laughed, twirling the katana at blinding speed blood splattered off painted the ground and cleaning her blade. The vacuum of wind from the movement was enough to blow some of the blood off into the sky.

"You've killed my family. Their corpses are lying a few floors below here. Isn't it logical that I am next?"
Syon waved her folded iron fan at Renya.
"Normally. It is my job - but I have an interest in the person who injured Myon so beautifully."
"Beautifully?" Renya's tone conveyed interest. Curiosity. With Syon's response alone, Renya sheathed her blade. Renya could tell by Syon's monotone speech and statement that there was no intent to kill.
"I enjoy seeing Myon under the weather. At those times - I feel like I love her the most." Syon said.
Renya nodded, a smile spreading on her face.
"I see. I am similar. I never thought I'd meet someone like myself before I died."
"The Shadow Society's records on you were interesting to read. It sounded familiar in my head - reading the events of your life played out like the events in my life. My secrets remain hidden - yours became public." Syon put her fan away, and pulled off her silver glove.
"So, did you kill my whole family, only for me? To meet me, alone?" Renya said.
"I would never be so rude. Going out of my way to meet someone like you - someone like me - is a mistake." Syon said. Renya nodded at the 'mistake' part.
Syon held out her hand to the girl at the edge of the skyscraper.
"Homunculi are outlawed. Your family's research became a problem for the whole world. However - my employers said nothing about killing the whole family. In fact - they said to threaten them. I am in a pinch. If I happened to come back with a daugther - one who knew the secrets of those infamous alchemists - then I would be rewarded greatly."
Renya chuckled, walking over to Syon.
"Even if that daugther is a homunculus herself?"
Syon took Renya's hand. Both of their grips were light, and both were cold.
"Wouldn't have it any other way. I have plans - Renya - I have a place for you."
