The next morning, everything in Avalon had changed. Ichi's frantic work in the night before to square away the squirrely situation with Myon and Syon ended with a plan made up on-the-fly lead to unexpected results.
First, Ichi told Syon not to talk. That was number one. Last time he talked to her he felt like she shaved off a portion of his life source, she he was adamant about that. Then, since Ichi had no idea what he was doing, or what to do, his mind kicked into overdrive.
Really, sex with Myon? That was all he freed her for? No, wait, what about prisoners and-
Ichi's mind bounced thoughts like those around as his mouth said entirely different words.
"Follow me. Quickly. Don't talk!" Ichi pointed at Syon. "Don't... okay. Yeah. Let's go."
Myon nearly thrashed Ichi despite still being bound after he said that, but he struggled out the words about their situation.
"Rikya's got the armory, the robot maids super strong, have armory weapons, I'm in control of the maids, and I'm super- please stop, I'm being serious."
Myon kicking wore a hole in his energy shield. He'd never seen the shield dent like that. Rattled him a little, which wasn't much because he was already rattled. Ichi didn't understand whether he conveyed anything or not to the two of them, but Myon looked to Syon for orders, as always.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
Over the years, Syon always pulled through for Myon. That was the order Myon understood. Syon does the plans, Myon does the fighting, Syon has the fun, Myon takes the pain. This was a matter of survival. So when Syon nodded her head, Myon went with it. This time, Myon went with Syon's nod.
However, Myon still had reservations. All the reservations possible about what they were doing, where they were, why they were captured, the magic that bound them, Ichi's words which had no relation to reality at all- those were all second
tier to Syon's nod.
Meanwhile, Syon only nodded for one reason. She couldn't talk. Ichi said no talking, so she listened. Her magic disabled from the mysterious dull golden band around her leg, she could do nothing. No amount of trying during her stay in the prisons let her figure it out. She was stumped. An inconceivable puzzle was attached to her, she was completely helpless, and then Ichi came in and has something like a spastic fit.
Really, what was going on? Neither Myon or Syon could tell. So, when Ichi lead them to Renya's black dome and had them stay the night so he could go 'fix things', they both had questions.
Yet, neither of them wanted to talk to Renya. And Renya avoided them like the plague. Renya couldn't risk associating with the two famed tengu assassins, so she straight out ran from Ichi when she saw him escorting the two. For Syon, she just had another confusion added on a list of confusions. What could the situation be if Renya didn't even want to share information with her? Myon, on the other hand, shrugged it off.
The unconscious bakeneko lord lying in the center of the black dome was just another curiosity for the twins.
Before the evening ended, Rikya was the new Lord of Avalon.
