“Marth, I want you to go and bring the villagers from the dungeon,” Roy walked over to the knight captain. “I will be making the houses and raising the wall to protect us.”
“I understand,” Marth nodded. “Should I take the men with me?”
“Yeah, you should,” Roy nodded and looked at his friend, “Alfonse, take your group and go with Marth. Just in case…”
Alfonse nodded and the two groups walked through the plains in the direction of the dungeon. Only eight men stayed in the village, nine if you consider Fred.
“Aswad, I want to start building the village,” Roy turned toward the well-dressed young man. “How can I see how much wood I have left?”
“Just think Show territory resources, my lord. That will show you a small screen with all the information you need.”
“Thank you,” Roy lightly bowed.
Show territory resources.
[Monster Gems: 0
Wood: 6700
Stone: 2300]
“That is a lot of wood,” Roy couldn’t help but speak his thoughts out loud. “Is that normal?”
“A forest is a perfect starting area for a village for exactly this reason, my lord,” Aswad explained. “You can easily upgrade your village from a low-level one to a medium as long as you have enough civilians.”
“So we need a hundred people,” Roy looked down in thought. “That might be an issue.”
He then took a deep breath and looked at the area around him. It was peaceful, serene, and beautiful.
“Let’s start by making the walls, we need to increase our safety first.”
Create wall
An ethereal wooden wall appeared in front of Roy. The walls covered the area all around, having an incredible one-kilometer circumference. There was more than enough space to house all the villagers and some more.
After he confirmed the building, a rumbling noise shook the earth. Wood grew from the ground like a tree and formed uniform wall segments that covered the area. In each of the four cardinal directions was a large gate that opened to the world. Each gate had a certain mechanism to close it.
“Every time I see it, I can’t believe my eyes,” Robb muttered next to Roy. “The work that would have taken us days and months is done just like that. Just a thought…”
“I would suggest that you make the village hall now,” Aswad cut in before the melancholic mood could set in. “The great statue inside it will help you see the talent of each man. This will be very useful when choosing your classes.”
Hearing the magical word, Jack raised an eyebrow, “I have been hearing these classes for a long while now, what are they?”
Aswad smiled and lightly bowed, “You will find out soon enough.”
Jack rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue, “Annoying prick.”
“Where should I put the hall?” Roy ignored Jack’s tantrum and looked at Aswad.
“I would suggest right in the middle, my lord. When the village becomes the capital of your kingdom, the hall will become your castle. So I believe it should be in the center.”
There was a silence at Aswad’s outrageous claims before Jack let out a burst of laughter. “Roy, this guy knows how to suck up to you real good. I never heard a funnier joke.”

Roy shook his head and chuckled. He looked at Aswad and asked, “What makes you so confident?”
“No lord of mine shall have less,” Aswad let out a small grin.
Roy was shocked for a second before he cackled, Robb and Jack also couldn’t help but laugh.
“I see… So it was less about me and more about you,” Roy nodded and smiled. “I like that. Good confidence.”
“If I could raise a lake with my magic, I would be confident too,” Robb chuckled. “I don’t think even those blue ogres with five necklaces could beat you. But I’m not sure about the purple one.”
“You have survived an encounter with a general ogre?” Aswad raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Very impressive… A being such as that could wipe your whole army in a minute.”
The mood turned serious as Aswad told them this new information. Roy’s eyes were open wide as he stared blankly in front of him, he could still clearly remember that monster’s chilling aura. Even though he was hundreds of meters away from it, the pressure was still suffocating.
“Is it really that strong…” Jack spoke out with a dry voice. “Even though we just killed that fucking red bear. That thing is really that much stronger than us?”
“It is strong but not that strong,” Aswad smiled. “Even among the ogres, their king would be several times stronger than the generals. And even he cannot truly be considered strong amongst the true overlords.”
Roy’s eyes opened wide at Aswad’s declaration before a burst of uncontrollable laughter took over him. He tried to hide his face with his hand but his laughter only grew stronger.
Robb raised an eyebrow at Roy’s odd behavior, “You okay?-”
“I see…” Roy cut in. “So we’re truly at the bottom. Even those that could massacre us have others that could massacre them.”
“That is indeed true, my lord,” Aswad smiled and nodded.
“And you still say that we will be making a kingdom here,” Roy grinned. “Are you that confident?”
Aswad’s smile did not leave his face and he simply replied, “I am.”
“Good,” Roy’s expression became neutral. “That is all I needed to hear.”
Without saying a word, Roy walked in the direction of the shop. Aswad, Robb, and Jack’s group all followed him.
Create Village Hall.
A large one-story building appeared in front of the group of eight with the words “Village Hall” written on a sign above the door. The men entered the building one by one to find a large statue in the middle. The meter-and-a-half statue was that of an old man with a large pointy hat and a long beard.
“Touch the statue,” Aswad gestured to Roy. “It will give you your talents and affinities.”
Roy nodded and hesitantly walked to the statue. When he touched the old man’s stone hat, a screen appeared in front of him.
Combat Talent:
Warrior: 65%
Mage: 93%
Assassin: 55%
Ranger: 35%
Priest: 13%
Production Talent:
Alchemy: High
Affinity:
Water: 52%
Fire: 96%
Earth: 65%
Air: 87%
Lightning: 91%
Holy: 2%
Spirit: 1%
Roy took a few seconds to read the screens before looking at Aswad in confusion, “What am I supposed to do with these numbers?”
“Your combat talent will tell you which combat class you should be choosing. The higher the number, the better. Same for your production talent. As for your affinities, they tell you which type of skills will you have an easier time raising their proficiency. “
Roy looked blankly at the ground as he processed the information before nodding, “I see… Thank you for the explanation.”
“Should we do it too?” Hassan cut in. “That seems very useful.”
“Of course,” Aswad smiled. “Please, go take a look at your talents and affinities.”
The six men made their way to the statue one by one, each taking their time to properly memorize the information that they were presented.
“Robb, what did they tell you?” Roy gestured to his friend. “What kind of class is best for you?”
Robb wryly smiled and said, “I don’t know… Both Warrior and Assassin had more than 90%”
“That is amazing,” Aswad clapped. “That should mean you will be receiving a special class once you enter the class hall.”
“A special class?” Robb had a mix of elation and confusion on his face.
“Yes,” Aswad nodded. “You will most likely be given the choice of another special class other than the four main ones. Those usually offer better advantages but are that much rarer.”
“Does that mean I will be getting a special class too?” Jack cut in with an enthusiastic expression. “I have 97% in Warrior and 91% in Mage.”
“Most definitely,” Aswad chuckled. “Your special class would likely be something close to a magic swordsman or something of the sort.”
“Magic swordsman…” Jack muttered. “I like the ring of that.”
