After gulping down the blue potion, Roy grimaced at the sour and slimy taste. However, his body no longer felt fatigued and lethargic. The energy that had died down once again burst from within him.
Looking up at Hawk, he saw him fire one arrow after the next. Soon, his quiver was empty.
“Are they gone now?” Roy asked.
Hawk climbed down the tree and looked at Jack, “I killed five of them, as promised.”
Jack’s serious expression mellowed out slightly at the archer’s report before he smirked, “Good, fuck them.”
Hawk then looked at Roy and said, “Yeah, they have all run away. They’re fast when they use their auras.”
“I don’t think this is the time for chit-chat,” Marth cut in. “Look at that beast, if we leave it alone, it’s gonna regenerate.”
Roy looked at the red bear in the distance. A bright blood-red aura covered it while it laid down on the ground. The numerous wounds on its body were slowly recovering, with flesh contorting and growing to hide its bones.
Roy did not waste any more time and raised his Moon Staff. Using all the mana that he had just gotten from the potion, he conjured a massive fireball. The spell was so large and powerful that even he felt the burning sensation on his skin. The other men quickly dispersed to not be caught by the spell.
Without changing his focus, Roy said, “Alfonse, use your skill.”
“Holy Blessing,”
Golden light seeped from Alfonse and merged with Roy’s spell, transforming it from red to white and orange flames. While the beast was still recuperating, Roy launched his spell. Like a shooting star, the fireball illuminated the forest as it flew at the red bear.
BOOOM!
A massive explosion almost burst Roy’s eardrums, even when he was more than fifty meters away from the beast. It was then followed by a heatwave that almost burned his skin off. Flames reached to the skies like a pillar of light, overshadowing even the most giant trees. The fire then lost its height only to gain more area.
The red bear was no more, its body but fuel to the fire that spread through the blood-soaked ground. The grass and soon the trees behind the clearing were all caught in the flames.
“Congratulations, you have unlocked an achievement.”

Roy was overjoyed by the achievement. It was as if the gods were looking at him and rewarding him after all the hardships that they had gone through. Just as he turned around to look at his friends, floating words appeared once again.
“Congratulations, you have completed the territorial quest.”
After the words disappeared, a small totem appeared in front of him with sparkles surrounding it. Roy looked at the floating totem in shock for a second before he hesitantly grabbed it. He then looked at it to see its description.
Territorial Totem
Description: Once you claim this totem, you can choose an area to place a territory which you will rule. The claimant will automatically become the lord of the new territory. Once an area is chosen, its topology and structure will be changed to become a suitable nexus for the territory. You can claim the totem by saying: “I, [your name], claim this territory to be mine.”

“What’s that?” Jack asked, snapping Roy out of his daze. “It looks creepy.”
Everyone’s eyes were focused on the young man. More accurately, they were looking at the totem in his hand. The face of the totem was that of an imp, with a snake-like tongue and a devious smile.
Roy looked at his friends with blank eyes for a few seconds before answering, “It says something about creating a territory. Whoever claims it will become a lord.”
“A lord?” Robb raised an eyebrow. “I thought only the emperor could make someone a lord.”
“These are the gods,” Jack laughed before his facial expression contorted. He looked down before hesitantly continuing, “I’m sure they have the right to make someone a lord.”
“What are you for?” Marth looked at Roy with a smile. “Claim it.”
Roy nodded before looking at the totem in his hand, “I, Roy, claim this territory to be mine!”
Time stopped. Everyone around him was stuck with frozen expressions and postures. The totem then glowed with the full rainbow of colors, before Roy’s spirit was yanked out of his body and flew high in the sky.
Looking down, Roy could barely see his friends close to the raging fire. He then looked around only to find John’s army was almost halfway to the village. Thankfully, they were not close to the dungeon where Peter and Jaimie were standing guard.
“Choose the area for your Low-level settlement. Please understand that the more your territory levels up, the greater your area of influence becomes. Any dungeon, raid, or tower inside your territory will be taxed accordingly, and result in higher rewards for your citizens.”
After the floating words disappeared, Roy’s view completely shifted. The world around him was split into small squares that had the same area with a light blue hue emanating from their perimeter. Even more strangely, wherever he would focus his eyes, the square in that area would become green and shine even more brightly than the rest.
After a second, Roy’s mind flashed with new information. It was as if an understanding was directly grafted into his brain. He understood what the green area meant.
“So this is how I choose my territory.”
While the choice to put the dungeon in the area of influence seemed to be obvious, Roy was still conflicted. The understanding that was grafted in his brain did not only tell him how to choose a territory, but also what would happen after.
So, the whole place is going to be razed, trees, roots, and all. Even the fire will disappear if it’s within the territory…
Roy gritted his teeth at the conundrum he was faced with before he shook his head and focused. The area that he could choose was a kilometer and a half wide. As he focused on the distance between the lake and the dungeon, he was delighted to see that it barely fit. By letting the dungeon be at the far edge of his territory, he would be able to get rid of almost all of the fire. The rest, they could take care of it by themselves.
Okay, let’s do it.
Roy steeled his resolve and chose the area for his territory in his mind. Just as the thought was formed in his head, a screen appeared in front of him.
“Are you sure that you want this area to be your territory? A quarter of the resource razed will be available through your lord management system.”
Yes, I am sure.
As he thought those words, the trees in the area disappeared into particles, and so did most of the fire. The hills and cliffs flattened as did a large part of the mountainside. Even though he was but a spirit, Roy’s heart beat wildly. He stared in shock at a display even the gods would be jealous of.
Roy’s spirit flew down to his body. He let out a gasp before looking at everyone around him. They were all in shock at the ungodly magic that happened right in front of them. They looked around with mouths that were left ajar; the dense trees that were surrounding them all disappeared.
“Congratulations, you have now become a lord. You can have access to the lord management system by thinking the words ‘Territory Display’”
Before he could appreciate the first screen that appeared in front of him, another followed right after.
“Congratulations, you have unlocked an achievement.”

“What the fuck…” Those were surprisingly Marth’s words. However, no one was shocked by his language. There were no words that could describe what happened in front of them. Even with all the craziness of the apocalypse, this event took it to another level.
“What in... What is that?” Jack looked around before focusing on Roy. “Is this something you did?”
“I guess,” Roy shrugged. “We will be making a new village now.”
Just as Roy said those words, a silhouette appeared from nowhere and walked toward them. It was a young man with silver hair and a black suit that looked more expensive than even Lord John’s wardrobe. However, the most surprising thing of all was that he had a black tail dangling behind him.
Just as the young man reached in front of the group, he looked at Roy and kneeled with a smile, “Here at your service, my lord.”
