With a mighty war cry, the middle-aged knight captain charged toward the blue ogre and slashed its left leg. The rest of the knights followed their captain’s lead and attacked it from all sides.
The blue ogre stayed in its crouched position for a few seconds before swiping at the knight captain with the back of its hand. The middle-aged man pushed all of his red aura into his sword to block the ogre’s attack. However, even with all of his efforts, he was still sent tumbling to the ground before he finally regained his balance.
The ogre stood up and cracked its neck and looked at the knights in front of it with a sneer.
“Run! Focus on dodging!”
Unfortunately, the knight captain’s words came too late as the blue monstrosity charged toward his subordinates one by one. With just one kick from its massive leg, one of the knights was sent flying, and one punch from its knuckles created a crater on the ground.
The middle-aged man clicked his tongue as he coated his feet with a red aura. He dashed with incredible speed at the giant beast that was full of openings before jumping and slashing its torso open. On his way back down, he spun with his sword and cut a large wound from its belly to its left thigh.
As they saw their captain fight bravely with the blue ogre, the battered knights regained their hope and will to fight. They followed after him and charged madly at the monster from all sides. Their speed and strength were much higher as they skillfully focused their aura on specific parts of their bodies.
As Roy looked at the display of strength in front of him, he could only sigh in admiration. “They’re pretty strong. On the verge of Sentinel rank when they use their aura properly.”
Robb nodded his head at Roy’s assessment. “That captain especially. When he put aura in his feet, his speed is close to what mine was before midnight.”
Roy’s eyebrows went up even more in admiration; the middle-aged man’s agility stat was shockingly close to his own.
Roy looked back at the knights bravely fighting the blue ogre that was double their height. Even with the massive size difference, the battle was surprisingly close. Anytime the monster would rush in to punch one of the knights with its massive knuckles, the rest wouldn’t waste the opportunity and immediately counter-attack. As such, both sides continuously accumulated more injuries.
After a couple of minutes have passed, the ogre jumped out of the knights’ formation. Thick purple blood dripped out of all of its injuries, but it did not care. It glared at the knights with a grin on its face, as if all of their efforts were amusing.
The squad’s focused expressions morphed into horror as they saw the beast emit a tremendous amount of red aura. It walked towards them with leisure, each step having the gravitas of a king and the power of a god.
“I thought they went berserk only when they were about to die. What the hell is this?!” A young knight shouted with a terror-stricken face. Only his multiple years of training stopped him from running away in fear.
“Focus! Use the blessing that the lord has given you and you shall face no harm. For the lord!” The middle-aged knight took charge as a light green aura merged and clashed with his red one. He pounced at the monster with even more speed than he had ever shown and attacked the monster’s chest with a flying slash. Just as his sword was about to touch the ogre’s flesh, the knight focused his aura on the tip of his blade.
A circular jet of purple blood gushed out of the monster’s torso as it fell to its knees. The knight captain stood up while panting and pointed his sword at the fallen ogre.
“Finish it!”
A rainbow of auras covered the knights as they charged at the wounded beast. They slashed and stabbed its flesh with all their might, while the ogre screamed and roared in pain.
Its eyes which were full of contempt and disdain were now the embodiment of wrath. With a massive beastly roar, it swiped the knights off with a large swing. While the men were recovering from the attack, the ogre continuously slammed the ground in a mad rage.

After turning the ground beneath into a meteor site, it looked to the sky and let out an ear-piercing scream. The red aura that covered it exploded into a more vivid and large blue one. And then, as if it was the calm before the storm, it stopped roaring and screaming and fell into a deafening silence.
It looked at one of the knights with the most deathly stare a man could ever see. Just as the knight flinched, the ogre appeared in front of him. It raised its arm high in the sky before punching the knight with its massive knuckles. Its strike almost broke the sound barrier, and its aura-covered fist twisted the body of the knight before the body tore and burst into an explosion of blood and bones.
It turned its head in an almost unnatural way toward one of the other knights. The man, who saw the fate that awaited him, covered his body in a red and dirt-brown light. The ogre dashed toward him with an unimaginable speed and struck him with a horizontal hand chop.
The knight’s armor caved in and he was sent tumbling through the dirt field for ten meters before he finally rested on the ground.
“No!” The knight captain roared as he ran toward the injured knight, but he was too slow and too late. The ogre jumped into the air and smashed the wounded man with its massive foot.
The middle-aged man could only look in terror and grief at the brutal and savage ways the monster was killing his men. Before his mind could even process the turmoil in his heart, the blue ogre flew towards another of his comrades. With three punches, the man was turned into meat paste.
“No, no! Ahh!!!”
The knight captain looked at the last member of his squad. A young boy with bright eyes who had just been promoted six months ago. He rushed towards his last remaining subordinate even before the monster moved. As he reached closer to the young boy, he saw the ogre dashing from the side with incredible speed.
“You filthy monster!”
The captain coated his feet in aura to increase his speed, before shoving everything he had left of it to the edge of his blade. With a massive swing that contained all of his power and energy, he clashed with the monster's giant fist.
Red and blue mixed and battled before exploding into a purple storm. The middle-aged man was pushed back five steps before he fell to his knees. As he looked up, he was surprised that the monster was also pushed back and injured from the clash. A deep crossed through its massive fist, almost cutting off its fingers.
The knight captain wasted no time and looked back at his subordinate.
“Run! Don’t look back and run!”
The young knight stammered before turning back and running with all his might. He did not even dare look back, fearing that he would see the ogre’s terrifying face breathing onto his neck.
Even with no energy left, the captain stared at the blue ogre with unwavering eyes. No matter what happened to his body, he would make sure that the young knight had enough time to escape.
As Roy and Robb looked at the scene intently, the latter couldn’t help but ask, “Should we go help?”
Roy thought for a second before nodding, “Yeah, he seems like a good man.”
With their decision made, the two rushed toward the injured blue ogre. Their pace was the same at first, but as Roy reached his max speed, Robb accelerated even further. Like a ghost, he appeared in front of the monster out of nowhere and slashed its shoulder open. Roy followed soon behind him and stabbed the monster through the stomach.
The blue ogre roared and punched at Robb, but the latter was too fast. By the time the monster’s fist reached his spot, he had already jumped out.
The two kept going in and out, slowly chipping away at the monster’s incredible regenerative speed and tough defense. However, the ogre soon fell to the ground, its body riddled with wounds.
As the monster looked like it was about to die, Roy jumped out while Robb dashed in. As he noticed his friend’s mistake, Roy did not even have the time to shout and could only open his eyes wide in fear.
Just as Robb was about to stab the beast’s neck, the ogre’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent. Its blue aura exploded and he threw a left punch at point-blank range. Robb did not have any time to dodge and could only raise his sword to block the incoming attack.
Boom!
The impact caused a shockwave as Robb was sent flying through the air. His sword which was supposed to block the attack was shattered, and so were his bones.
Noticing that all of the monster’s aura was concentrated on his fist, Roy understood that this was his only opportunity. He spread his arm wide open in front of him and aimed it toward the beast. He then willed every particle of mana in his body to materialize in front of him.
Fire continuously poured out of Roy’s fingertips until the fireball reached a massive size. Once he wrung every little drop of mana out of his body, Roy launched his spell at his blue enemy. The fireball rushed towards the ogre with a speed that rivaled even Robb’s, before exploding into a massive firestorm.
The shockwave pushed both Roy and the exhausted knight captain, and the heatwave almost burned his hair. As he looked up to see what happened to the monster, he found only fire. A large portion of the field had turned into an inferno, with the ogre drowning in the sea of fire. The monster screamed and roared through the pain of being burned alive.
