Chapter 95 - About Emi's Birthday

Chapter 95 - About Emi's Birthday

A week has passed since the presentation ended. After that, we managed to raise a good amount of money from investors who wanted to get into the project. Clearly, some people were able to see the potential of this new means of transportation and didn't want to be left out of what could be the future.

Of course, there were also people who, although they had seen the steam train with their own eyes, still couldn't believe that something on a larger scale could be built. Besides, the fact that we were children also didn't help to give more confidence to these people, and as they say, the older, the more experienced.

Another thing that is also on my mind is Emi's birthday. Although both she and I have the same birthday, I don't really care about mine, so I usually ignore it. But for the first time, my birthday will be a little more special than usual. This time I will go to Emi's birthday party.

Since the moment I remembered this fact, I have been constantly thinking about what kind of present would be good to bring her. I mean, I really don't want to admit it, but I have no idea what Emi would like to receive.

"Is something wrong? It's been a few days now that you seem pensive"

Rebecca asked from beside me. Currently, both Rebecca and I were inside a carriage as we moved towards my mall. Today, we would take a look around since the mall was in its final construction phase. As soon as I heard Rebecca's question, I thought that maybe it might be a good idea to ask for help with this.

After all, who will be better to understand a woman but another woman? As soon as I made up my mind about this, I turned to Rebecca while keeping a serious look on my face.

"Rebecca, what gift do you think would be best for a teenage girl who will be 15?"

I asked while looking at Rebecca. Hearing my words, Rebecca frowned and turned forward, seeming to think about it. After a few seconds of thinking, Rebecca turned to me again and spoke.

"Well, that depends, I guess. You should take into consideration what the person is interested in. Besides, sometimes the gift is not really the gift but your presence at that special moment"

Said Rebecca while looking at me. As soon as I heard her words, I realized that we both were having the same thought. To tell you the truth, I think the same as Rebecca, but I really can't tell if that applies to Emi.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

I mean she and a princess, but even if I try to think about it, I don't remember any time when Emi was interested in anything but new inventions or technologies. This made me think that Emi really was a science lover. Pushing that thought away from my mind, Rebecca's voice calls my attention.

"So who is the birthday girl, your sister?"

Rebecca asked as she looked at me curiously. And really, it's a fun thought to know that Rebecca, although a normally would-be person, at times acted like a high school student.

"No, the one who will have a birthday will be the second princess, Emi"

I said while shaking my head. As soon as she heard my words, Rebecca nodded, seeming to remember something.

"Now that you say, and true that next week will be her birthday"

Said Rebecca, seeming to accept the situation somehow.

"By the way, I will also have a birthday next week"

I said as I looked at Rebecca, hearing my words. Rebecca was momentarily surprised since I had never talked about my birthday.

"Really? So you both have birthdays in the same month... so coincidences like that can really happen, can't they?"

Rebecca said in surprise.

"Same month? We have the same birthday, you know"

I said as I looked at Rebecca with a wry smile on my face. Hearing my words, Rebecca opened her mouth and closed it soon after.

"Really? Well... I really don't know how to react to that"

Said Rebecca, looking embarrassed for some reason. Hearing her words, a giggle escaped my lips.

"Hahaha... you don't have to pay much attention to that"

I said with a soft smile on my face. Hearing my words, Rebecca nodded her head. After this little conversation, we couldn't talk more about other things since the carriage had stopped, indicating that we had arrived. As soon as I looked out the window, I confirmed that we were already at the place.

As soon as the door was opened, Rebecca got out, and soon after that, I got out too. As we couldn't stop the carriage in front of the mall, we stopped it in a relatively close place and walked from there.

After walking for a few minutes, we finally arrived at a huge two-story building. The whole structure had a white color, giving a majestic look to the place. Several people were standing around, pointing to the mall and whispering to each other. Seeing that, a smile appeared on my face since it had been exactly as I had asked. I really needed to thank everyone since this was only possible thanks to them.

"Have you seen the inside?"

I asked as I looked at Rebecca. I knew she had been here before, but I still didn't know if the inside was finished or not. Of course, I also didn't know if we could enter even though we were the owners of the place. Hearing my words, Rebecca nodded, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Sure, it's exactly the way you wanted it. Want to take a look?"

Said Rebecca as she looked at me. As soon as I heard her words, a huge smile appeared on my face as I really wanted to take a look.

"Are you sure? I don't want to bother the workers"

I said as I looked at Rebecca.

"Yes, I am. Things are basically finished; they are just doing a final touch-up as well as checking that all the structures are in good condition"

Said Rebecca with a soft smile on her face. As I had no reason to refuse her, I quickly accepted, and soon she and I entered the mall.
