Chapter 54 - The decision of the kingdom of Storne

A few days before Ren received Aria's letter, in a kingdom relatively close to the Solaris kingdom, some people were inside a room. Besides the king, there were other important-looking people showing that their statuses were quite high.

"They dared again to deny your majesty's request?"

Shouted one of the men who was in the room. His expression showed how much anger he was feeling at that moment.

"Such a thing is unforgivable. They have not only denied us once but several times. Do they want to tarnish the reputation of our kingdom?"

Said another man. Everyone's face was quite similar - anger and indignation. The reason for all this was quite simple: no matter what they talked to Solaris about, they would not accept their terms of ownership over the new technology store that had sprung up in Solaris. They all found it ridiculous. Thanks to this store that appeared out of nowhere, the technological level of the kingdom of Solaris has increased non-stop. It has already become unparalleled compared to the other kingdoms.

The King of Storne could not keep silent on this subject. If there was something he wanted to have, he would have it, even if he had to use force. The last straw was recently when they sent a new letter to the King of Solaris demanding that he pass on the rights to the store along with the creator of the inventions to him. But the answer he received did not please him at all. In the letter, it said that if he wanted such a thing, he should send a letter directly to the creator of the products as well as to the owner of the store.

With this in mind, Clyde again sent a letter to the store owner known under the pseudonym X. But just like all the other letters, all he received was an explanation saying that X did not intend to leave Solaris but that they were open to negotiations about the products. Clyde could not accept this. This was like saying that the kingdom of Solaris was better than the kingdom of Storne, and throwing this in Clyde's face was unacceptable.

Thanks to this, Clyde made an irreversible decision that would forever mark the history of his kingdom. Clyde was messing with something beyond common knowledge, with a monster that would have the real capacity to destroy the world if it wanted to. And with the following words, Clyde had sealed the fate of his kingdom.

"Since they are denying us their technology to this extent, there is only one way around it. If they want war, war they will get"

With that simple statement, the whole room was filled with shouts of joy. Everyone inside the room had been waiting for those words. They could barely hide the smile on their faces as they thought of the vast profits they would gain when they acquired that store that contains technologies years ahead of time. While everyone was happy with these thoughts, the voice from the kingdom brought everyone back to reality.

"Commander Zeke, step forward"

Clyde said. Hearing the king's words, a man who, although he had been in the room all this time, was totally ignored by everyone, came forward, crouching in front of the king. The man had a modest body, though clearly muscular, along with black eyes and black hair. His armor looked perfect for the size of his body, giving a warrior look to the man.

"I want you to gather our troops and leave immediately for the kingdom of Solaris"

Clyde said with a confident tone.

"As you wish, your majesty"

Saying this, Zeke got up and left the room with the goal of getting everything ready.

"Having Commander Zeke in this war, our victory is already guaranteed"

Said one of the men in the room.

"Indeed, although he is a complete idiot, his combat strength is true"

Said another man. The room again filled with conversation. The reason for having such confidence in the man who just left was quite simple: Zeke is an orphan who grew up on the streets. Luckily, he was found by the former commander, and Zeke rose through the military ranks to become the new commander. With his combat strength surpassing even that of the former commander, Zeke's nickname on the battlefield is Zeke the invincible. While the room was filled with meaningless chatter, the man who had just left the room was now moving around the castle.

"Haaa, those old idiots really only know how to think about war. That's why the state of this kingdom gets worse every year. If they would use this enthusiasm they have for making war to improve the kingdom, we would be one of the most prosperous nations"

He said as he looked outside the castle.

(Men who have everything will never understand the pain of those who have nothing)

He thought as he disappeared into the vast expanse of the castle.

***

(Damn... why just now? Do they really intend to do this?)

No matter how much I thought about it, it still didn't seem right.

(Would they really wage a war just for the sake of wanting to have the technology I invented just for them?)

The letter I received from Aria had taken me by surprise. When I read the letter, it took me a while to believe what was written, and I was already thinking that maybe I was seeing things. Unfortunately, this was a reality; the troops of the Storne kingdom were already moving towards the Solaris kingdom. Even I had understood that at this point of the events, it was almost impossible to avoid a war.

But I know what a war can cause. Even though it is less technologically advanced than in my world, people will still die, children will be left without fathers, and women will be left without husbands. And the main cause of this war will have been me. Even if I knew that the real reason for this war was greedy people looking for profit in general, it would have been the same. My technology brought about a war. At that moment, a thought struck me that made me wonder.

(Was it really a good idea for me to bring the technology from my world to this one?)
