Way in

White Shore did not change after night passed.

It was still an eerie, terrifying, and pure place filled with nothing other than sharp rock and white sand, but Hildebrant didn’t care as he made his way around the cursed vessels filled with crimson sickness and wooden debris.

He didn’t dare to approach any of them for his fears. Not even ones that were just pushed out of the sea.

Monsters haunting the place at night were also nowhere to be seen and a blob of revolting flesh was left behind. At its memory, Hildebrant heart began to beat faster, but his face showed no emotion instead his pace became faster as if running away from the deed he had done.

Clenching his fist Hildebrant observed stretching land while the wind made his now long dark hair flutter and his exposed flesh scream in pain. Most of his skin was already back and his hands were forcefully brought together after a full night of bandaging them and trying to recover.

But they still poured an unhuman amount of pain into his brain.

His psyche shook but the feeling of wind passing through his hair made him relax a little and calm his mind and for a while, he forgot about the harrowing pain that always came with the use of his power.

Moving further from the place of his shame he finally noticed three ragged people being hunted by blood-red armored warriors and this sight made him stop and watch closely as one of the teams fled while the other attacked with unusual bloodlust.

They fought well, trying to slow their hunters down by relying on terrain and weird abilities related to mind, that stopped adversaries from time to time but red warriors did not give them a choice when they finally were close enough.

Brandishing their red shortswords, red-armored teens' veins on their faces turned red, and with slightly higher speed they exchanged blows with hunted people. Unexpectedly all three of them showed no sight of backing down and one of them even suppressed his adversary to some extent even though the person's body was riddled with wounds and cuts.

This person was familiar and making sure his eyes did not deceive him he poured some flames into his legs and jumped up.

The sun illuminated his figure and not expecting someone to come all the people in the surroundings froze before Hildebrant pushed his body down and accelerated it by releasing flames from his back.

Like a shooting meteor, Hildebrant crashed into the ground sending two sides stagnating to the back but not even a second passed when a man who had just suppressed his adversary looked at him with a titled gaze and confusion.

"Hill?"

David looked at him with trembling hands but Hilldebrant without answering rushed to three people in red and then used his fist to push them back. With furry three and one person entered combat using their honed abilities to the extreme but even in such a situation and with teamwork above ordinary mastery Hildebrant still held.

His muscles broke while he fought and the pain was even present from wounds that did not have time to heal but with apathy in his eyes, he used golden marshal and what Icarus taught him to sever one of man's hands just by applying heat to his own.

As hand fell on the ground his leg knocked another man down and with a stomp, Hildebrant's heated leg passed through hard red armor and made the young man scream in pain.

His only non-wounded friend screamed in terror and with a raised sword rushed his way, but Hildebrant had no mercy and grabbed his face before making the last one of them scream.

Knowing they felt the same pain as him made him jolt in satisfaction but then he trembled and released the boy who immediately fell on the ground while touching his face and eyes that lost their ability to see.

What did he do?

He asked himself and then furry, started to combine with disgust and then confusion and sadness.

"Cerion!"

One of three blood demons with cut hands shouted and with fear plastered on his face crawled to the boy who started to cry.

Observing them Hildebrant face twisted.

Why was he so sad, so afraid? As an ascender such a wound was nothing, it would heal in a matter of days and the only thing it did was make the boy feel pain. It was just pain, just normal pain that filled you with a searing desire to cry your tears out but in the end, it was still just pain.

In truth, Hildebrant was becoming numb to it, and a searing feeling traveling past his entire body was starting to connect to him on a spiritual level.

"Hill? Is it you?"

Hearing the question Hildebrant finally turned to David, but he didn’t answer just looked down at his half-naked body and then at David's surprised gaze and one girl and boy behind him before twisting his lips into a kind smile.

You really are a beast.
