Total desperation

Total desperation

After dressing up and cowering his wounds he sat down on the floor before the unconscious boy and rested while listening to the shout of others and the clash of steal.

It could no longer go like this, if this continued, he would be captured sooner or later.

But what should he do?

Thinking about it his shoulder slumped down and then other people passed around the house where he was resting while talking to each other in hushed voices.

"Do you think what generals saying is true?"

"Do you mean some exorcists got in? Most likely other group already captured two people only one remaining I tell you that guy must be a beast to escape so many people."

"Don’t talk much just run we must capture him first."

"Did he really hurt a lord?"

"Yes, he hurt her feelings, that most deathly technique and the only one everyone knows can hurt her."

As they passed Hildebrant finally regained his bearing and little strength and after looking for a while absentmindedly at the sky and raindrops that began to touch the glass he pushed himself up and then crawled around the house and the people surrounding it and then he sneaked from house to house until he reached almost end of the great hall.

There was a house, a familiar house he and David and his companion used to get here and without much waiting he walked closer but when he was opening the door small boy in blood-red armor noticed him and widened his eyes.

"He her….."

Before his shout could finish Hildebrant tore the dork knob from the door and threw it at the surprised boy who was thrown onto the wall.

Gasping for breath boy kneeled on the ground but Hildebrant already entered rushing from room to room until he noticed a steel lid in one of the old rooms filled with laps and old weapons.

His bet was successful and just glancing at it made him smile when light of flames came from windows and shined into his face. Right after the light came the sound of heavy boots hitting the old wood and not waiting longer, he used his ascender strength fuelled by his flames to open the lid and then he jumped down while his exposed skin and flesh touched his cold armor upon impact.

Pain flooded him, as it always did but after descending, he was stunned by humility and wetness of air.

Numerous tubes were extending from various places, some whole some destroyed but it did not change that water dripped down from the ceiling on his head and red armor.

With not much time he dashed and as he expected sound of steel rumbling against each other followed him. Blood demons entered the tunnels and began to hunt him, but he always took paths and turns to lose them.

But the longer he stayed, the fewer and fewer people he heard following him until he heard almost nothing other than his breathing.

Collapsing on the floor he took down a heavy helmet and let himself catch his breath.

He was spent.

With no idea how he was still able to think, or how could he still stand and with a headache hammering his head he stared at the ceiling when in the periphery of his vision he noticed a red blood warrior running with raged breath.

Hildebrant wanted to escape but then blood red warrior waved at him with hope written on his face. He was already opening his mouth when something crimson came from the darkness and dragged him back into it with a scream. the

Then came a whisper.

"Long time no see."
