Smiling sun
Crimson wave

Crimson wave

Hildebrant didn’t move but when the sound of the creature’s legs stopped traveling into his ears and a new sound emerged from the distance, slithering down and crashing into a rock he immediately perked his ears just to be assaulted by the disgusting sound of moving organs and flesh.

While it rushed down, whispers Hildebrant knew too well entered his ears and made flames in him tremble.

"Wait!"

"Where are you?"

"Hiiiiil!"

"My boy!"

"Friiiieeend!"

"Come hoooome."

"I will not hurt you."

"Please listen."

Various voices began to travel from outside word crushing into his skull and making his head buzz with uncomprehend feelings of familiarity and fear.

All he wanted to do was run away, his own body and instinct screamed that his power was not enough to fight against Icarus or one of his refined minions. But not all wishes were always answered and Hildebrant had many experiences with gods not listening to what he had to say.

Anything that came circled the wooden vessel and tried to get in through any gaps but thankfully Hildebrant already checked and blocked anything that could lead inside his room. There was not even a small hole for air circulating which was one of the reasons why the Hildebrant did not move from his spot since killing the dark horse while slowly refining invisible heaven will.

"Are you hereee?"

"Are…"

"You?"

"Here you…?"

Pressure on the room intensified and wood began to bend under the slithering weight of flesh.

He didn’t know how the creature Icarus sent looked, but imagination was a fearsome thing able to construct even things that did not exist.

There was however one thing showing the true appearance of being outside and that was a small drop of blood that almost pushed itself into the room but before it could howl of beast pushed itself to the sky and the white shore outside of his vessel in a second became a battlefield.

Wood was still bent for a while but after a hurried step came before the vessel pressure weakened and then the clash began.

From the sound of it beast attacked and then with a howl it jumped from the stone and as it did it howl turned into a squeal of pain.

Before he could think of what happened squeal ended with the sound of bones breaking.

"Not…"

"Here…"

The body hit the ground, and hearing white sand move to devour it Hildebrant shuddered. It was as if the entire sanctuary was helping Icarus to accomplish his goal of hunting him down. From dark corridors to hungry sand.

"Where…"

Being whispered and then the pressure on the wood disappeared.

Something slithered down, it sounded similar to that of children's feet touching the ground but not just a minute passed when it shifted, and now it sounded like a slug with hundreds of children's legs was moving away from his vessel.

Such discovery made him uncomfortable.

But then right as the creature was prepared to leave another roar echoed and after the first one three others joined.

The slithering sound stopped and then hearing bones twisting made Hildebrant freeze.

Blob did not make another sound but when the creatures finally came closer tapping the stones with their sharp legs, the fury contained in its voice made even Hildebrant tremble.

"HOW DARE YOU!"

With something tearing air fight ensured.

The battle was wild and none of the sides were willing to give up. Not a creature made by Icarus and not an inhabitant of this place in days of full moon.

Howl after howl came out and the crashing of flesh into a hard shell resonated in the surroundings, then the squeal of pain and then the squeal of pleasure and despair as blood vessels began to slither and infect one of the beast's bodies.

How did Hildebrant know?

Because sound of it he remembered it very well.

Other beasts did not stay idle either and used their bodies to pin down the infected breather and began to eat his flesh, but the creature Icarus created was intelligent and used time to attack tearing the air and then letting something fall on white sand.

Blood sprayed out and then even the last beast howled weakly, as it began to run away, its step disappearing into the distance until something grabbed it and began to drag it back while the creature began to howl and roar in defiance.

Just in a minute, three monsters were almost down.

"YOU WERMITS."

The creature said with furry dripping from its voice and then the air ripped again this time letting something fly into the air.

Then with a thud it fell on sand and rolled until it hit the walls of his destroyed vessel.

With the twisting sound of bones hitting each other creature then shifted closer to the thing that rolled close to his room and Hildebrant held his breath.

The sound of blood flowing and flesh moving came right after with the slithering of small children's legs touching each other before its flesh moved and lifted something from the ground, most likely missing part of the beast or its head.

Surrounding out of nowhere descendent into absolute stillness until something fleshly knocked on the wall.

"IS"

"SOMEONE"

"HEEEEERREEE?"

Hildebrant heart turned cold, and his hand instinctively grasped the new sword he had gained just five hours ago.
