His body met with resistance the moment his feet stepped closer to Osmain and as their fist connected, he felt his bones breaking and his hand bending under the weight of the punch, but Hildebrant didn’t step back but poured more flames into his fist matching the force until pressure was matched.
Then a new set of moves followed and Osmian with basic mastery over his body and powers matched his own basic mastery over the golden marshal.
Their fists and bodies connected and with blank faces, Hildebrant kept pressuring young boy-like machines built by Golden Emperor for its people. fist, kick, slash, twist. Muscles moved under his command and his flames rushed from one part to another, but the statement did not last long and the girl who came with Osmian joined after a while of the shock.
"Why are you doing this don’t you see we are in danger?!"
The girl shouted but her face showed helplessness and she and Osmian tried to put him down without success.
Why was he doing this?
"Answer!"
He didn’t know and he truly had no idea it just felt wrong going with them, it felt as if he did it, he would never return. If he didn’t fight, he would never return home.
That though made him even more determined and listening to his inner voice he turned even more brutal his body turned into a weapon, but two of his opponents were not normal people but ascenders forget in one of the deadliest places in the world.
They moved in unison, their bodies and powers working with each other.
The osmian body was hard as steel and Hildebrant could not notice power hiding behind each of his strikes. Girl on the other hand didn’t look to have any power but four leaves on her forehead shined with golden light and some of that light flowed into her veins raising her power slightly but what made him more desperate was his inability to strike her.

She always dodged somehow even if it looked impossible.
But that did not stop him from injuring her and even with her weird ability she was unable to dodge the heat that he released.
Taking advance of that he stabilized his footing and then wanted to take them all down but before his fist or flames could move, he found himself under the weight of the mountain. Out of nowhere his body slowed down and his muscles screamed from the pure weight put on them and even his legs shook a little.
Then he crashed down when a stranger's leg struck the side of his waist.
"Why don’t you calm down?"
David asked with eyes wide open. He didn’t draw the sword, didn’t wear armor but his gaze sent a shiver down his spine.
That gaze was wrong and full of alien contempt.
Couching out blood Hildebrant had a hard time standing up, it was as if his entire body weighed tons and even crawling on the floor felt as if he would be crushed into pancakes any moment. But he knew it wasn’t just an illusion his weight really changed and only when he poured his flames into each part of his body was, he able to finally stand even if just by little.
"Why should I?"
Everything still felt wrong. Sky felt wrong, he felt wrong, his mind felt wrong, and his body which weighed more than normal carriage felt wrong as if it did not belong to him anymore. That feeling made him helpless and mad.
No! He wasn’t mad!
His head began to hurt again as he watched David's emotionless figure approach, but he still refused to believe that he was mad!
"No!!"
He screamed while grasping his face.
While he did David walked close to him blood vessels on his body started to crawl up to his neck and even overgrow his hands.
"Did you calm down Hill?"
David asked but instead of answering Hildebrant laughed.
Did he?
Glancing at the distorted figure still watching them he didn’t know what was wrong and what was happening he didn’t know but….
He lunged at David with a ferocious expression, his feet rising from the ground, his flames raging but as he moved out of nowhere, he was raised from the ground, air escaped from his lungs and when he looked down hand was in his chest.
The hand was overgrown by red vessels and to make sure he didn’t dream he touched it cowering it with his blood. It was smooth and soft but why!? Why is it still so wrong?!
David gave him a last glance and then from within his body invisible force expanded crushing his organs.
Even as he died Hildebrant asked the same question again and again.
Why was everything so wrong?
