The sky was dark, and the air was cold. Crows soared through the air following the scent of blood and gore. In the midst of it all stood a lone girl, whose formerly white coat was now stained crimson with blood. The girl's hair, majestic as it was, fluttered aggressively with the winds. With each step she took there was a faint squishing sound as her boots became acquainted with the corpses before her. Despite the mountain of death she found herself in, Mia couldn't help but crave more.

Mia always stood out, generally not accepted by others purely based on her appearance. Her colored hair drew the ire of many she came in contact with. In the past having any physical change from the norm has been a telltale of trouble. In the past those with abnormal physical traits have always caused trouble, so to the villagers, Mia has always been seen as an enemy. This mentality is a part of the norm. The mentality of the masses overcomes the thoughts of the weak and due to where the village is located, Mia has never had the opportunity to meet anyone like her. She was all alone, with no one to relate to.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
She got used to it, though. She realized eventually that people simply couldn't - or, in most cases, wouldn't - understand her, and when people don't understand something they must ridicule it. Mia has never really wanted much in life; just a family - a place to call home where she feels like she belongs. Unfortunately for her, those seem as hard to find for her as Waldo would be for a colorblind child. Her life is always upside down no matter what, her heart is always cracked. Although Mia didn't know it yet, everything was going to change when a new person entered her life.
