Outside while Mia is within the effects of Alli's blutklinge
They all stood watching as Alli's blutklinge formed around Mia, their eyes glued to the scene.
"You think she'll be able to succeed? I mean, in the time I've known her it's obvious she doesn't have a lot to offer, even if she was able to survive an attack from beasts". Hikaru felt skeptical, his own experience taught him that there was great danger in the awakening process of getting one's huntsman powers.
"Don't worry so much, as I've said before, I can sense immense potential in that child. I'm sure that she'll pull through". The Captain paused... "Alli... Which beast effigy did you give her?"
A moment of silence passed and a sketchy smile crossed over Alli's face, clearly showing her questionable intentions.
"If you must know, I had Atchi and Suzatchi pick one. I'm sure they didn't get anything too dangerous". She took a breath, "you know, I don't just hoard different varieties of beast effigies. I mainly keep a decent stock of small and medium sized ones". Alli stood awkwardly, her body language showing her uncertainty.
"Though if there is a chance she got a large one then I still think she'll be fine".
"Ahh".
Both Captain Yakusuke and Hikaru sighed in unison.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
In fact, Atchi and Suzatchi did grab a large beast effigy, though that thing inside Mia absorbed it immediately, so it had zero effect on her training.
"Gurren".
"What?".
"Did you tell her about what will happen to her body after becoming a huntsman?"
"She'll find out soon enough about the whole living significantly longer than the average human thing". He rolled his eyes and bit his lip. "When we get to Seiren it'll be easier for her to understand, after all she'll be surrounded by people who're over a hundred years old".
Alli placed her hand at her hips. "Atleast the two of you are near her age". She sighed and shook her head, wondering how Mia would react.
"Well, for now I'll keep it a secret".
A few minutes later...
The three stood, silently, patiently, hoping for her success. They may have shown confidence but at the same time they felt nervous, after all, who wants to watch a child age rapidly and turn to dust?
The waiting consumed them, each second ate away at their minds, but not as bad as it was for Mia. Each second for Mia was significantly increased. A second outside was fifteen days to Mia. As the time increased, she grew, some parts more than others...
...
Crrrrrckkk... Crrrrrckkk... Crrrrrckkk.
A cracking sound came from the stage, the effigy. It began to crack, parts fell and crumbled, it slowly broke and turned to nothing. The total process took one-hundred and twenty-one seconds, or just over two minutes.
The captain, Alli and Hikaru stared without blinking, their shock apparent. From either side of the room, Atchi and Suzatchi stared as well. They all thought the same thing...
"Is that girl standing there... Really Mia?"
