SHRRRREEEEEEE!
SHRRRREEEEEEE!
The bots made a horrible sound as they thrashed around, sparks shot in different directions as they twitched. It seems that they were aware that the other bots had been dealt with, and now held a grudge. It is quite odd, but in this era the state of technology fluctuates. In small villages and settlements the technological progress is medieval, but in large towns and cities it becomes much broader.
It’s commonly known that Indra was right in the middle between lacking and sufficient. They relied on electricity for most of their needs, but it was still relatively new having been theorized and discovered only forty years prior at the beginning of the century.
The technological standpoint for the military was much greater. In the capital the abundance of energy was vast, it powered everything from lightbulbs to fancy cars(Though only the richest could afford electricity-powered cars, to the lesser folk steam was the norm).
To the covenant, they had a completely different approach, unlike the large super-cities and the capital they’re technological growth was incredible. By allowing the sixth division to study and develop new means to improve, they’ve practically perfected the use of electricity. The entirety of the sixths division as well as other covenant secrets is kept top secret from the rest of the country, as any news about it would certainly cause an uproar among many.

Mia stood still, grasping her blade, waiting and anticipating the first attack. The bots became still, rather too still for beast slaying machines.
But in a rush then the largest jumped forwards, its tendrils jabbing the ground causing small craters to appear with each of its movements. It rushed Mia hard, and unlike the ones before it, this one would take a lot more than a heavy strike to take down. After all, compared to the cauldron-boar and rotund bot, this one was at least five times as large.
It swung its tendrils around wildly, demolishing the ground around it and reshaping the area. The hanging bots above it also attacked with a variety of weapons. The hanging devil-bot blasted a stream of flame, the eye-bot shot long nail-like bullets, and the face-bot shot into the ground at high speed, which left a facial imprint wherever it landed.
The bots relentlessly attacked her with everything at their disposal, Mia dodged and dodged, barely staying out of the line of danger.
CHING! CHANG!
Her blade bounced right off the big bot, its protective casing was extremely shock absorbent. “Need some cover”, she thought as she ducked behind a large conveniently broken ceiling tile.
Ah ah ah, Mia panted from lack of breath, “Damn, they’re a lot more resilient than the others. The big one is hard as hell, anytime I hit it my sword bounces right off. I can’t stop to think either, the three up there are barraging me with attacks. Shit, it's difficult to focus on all of them at once… If only I had a good distraction… Hmm…”. Mia sat for a moment, pondering her attack, alas she couldn’t stay long because the bots were scouting for her whereabouts.
“Heh, that's a wonderful idea”, she thought. Her face had an antagonistic expression.
The bots shifted back and forth, jolting their heads(and eye) to locate Mia.
…
BOGHWOOOOO!
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
An explosion came from a pile of debris nearby, a cloud of dust soon accompanying it.
The bots all turned in one motion, the large one jumped to the explosion, crashing into debris and causing more dust to rise. Immediately after the hanging bots targeted the same area and began a relentless onslaught of fire.
But it was all part of her plan.
Moments prior whilst Mia was hiding out, she came to a conclusion, “If I can make a decent commotion then all of them should target this area, by doing that I can get a distraction”. Mia stood up and clutched her blutklinge, she walked a few feet and turned to her moments prior hiding spot. With blutklinge in hand, she resembled a western baseball player.
WAAAAAAM!
With a power full swing she slammed her blutklinge into the rubble, causing it to go everywhere and release a dust cloud. “Alright perfect, now onto part two”. Using her head she chose to dash to the side and get behind all of the bots. Her idea was to treat them like a normal living organism and target their blindspot. “I’ll swing at the back of their necks and sever their heads. I’m assuming that their control mechanism is in their heads so hopefully this should work”, she thought.
As she ran she watched the bots, coming up with ideas if they were to change direction.
Mia jumped up, her face showing terrifying determination. Each bot was in the perfect position to be taken out all at once, she knew this, and was gonna take full advantage of it.
SSSCCHCHLIIINNNNGGG!
With a quick motion her sword and her swung forwards, cutting all four automatons at once. She landed, and watched as each robot collapsed, each of their heads severed. Sparks flew out of their ripped-open necks and wires jolted.
“Yes. I did it. The gamble, yet again paid off.” With her hands at her knees she panted aggressively, her words almost incoherent to anyone but her. “Alli said that was the final test, so it should be over”. She stopped her thought, all her expended energy came back, she was exhausted. Being a huntsman or not, the human body can only take so much.
Mia looked up, standing across on the other side of the room was everyone else, Alli, the Captain, Hikaru, and the twins. These people helped her to become strong. Her weakness was now behind her, her pain and suffering as well.
She panted some more, her vision turning blurry.
In her head she thought, “What's happening, my eyelids feel incredibly heavy. Can’t… Stay… Conscious… Damn it”.
She heard yelling, “Mia! Agh, it makes sense she’d pass out, we’ll let her sleep for now”.
Mia collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
–
She felt warmth, almost motherly? This warmth came with a sweet aroma, it filled her nostrils and she felt calm.
Mia slowly opened her eyes and shifted her head.
Looking down and looking at her with a gentle smile, was Nishi. Mia rested on her lap, using it as a pillow. Her beautiful skin was soft as silk.
Nishi gently brushed her hand across Mia’s face, she smiled wider.
“Why am I here again?”
“We called you here… To talk”, Nishi said, still caressing Mia’s face. “Mia, first of all, we’re both so proud of you. You succeeded where so many others have failed”.
“We?” Mia slowly got up as she spoke.
Splish splish splash
“I am still here girl”
The beast walked to her just as before, his appearance remained the same, the hair same as hers, pale skin, emotionless demeanor.
“Girl”. He got close, rather, too close.
“Wha- What?” She shivered, for some reason anytime he’d speak to her a feeling of dread crept over her.
“Tell me, what… is… my… name?” He arched his head, “do you know it girl?”
She minced her words, it seems any response she gave would come out all at once, not in a sentence but rather a mass of sounds.
Finally, “N- No”.
He stepped back, “I see, even though you just became a huntsman you aren’t strong enough to properly use me”.
“Use you?”
“Mia”.
She turned her head back to Nishi, “we’re your power, but at your current level, you can only use a fraction of us. Don’t worry though, over time you’ll master your blutklinge and be able to use both of us as well. He may not seem like it but he agrees, even if he doesn’t show it”.
“Go back girl, if you’re still like this then there's no point even talking”.
Her eyes began getting droopy again, she tried to keep them open but it was hopeless.
Her sight faded to black.
