The Captain and the huntsman of the stealth squad entered the building, with the door closing behind them.
“Hikaru, are we just gonna let that guy take him? What the hell!” Mia exclaimed. She began pacing back and forth, stressing over the matter. She bent down and held her hands to her forehead. “What are we gonna do?”
Hikaru looked around. “Hm, relax. The Captain's decisions carry meaning and require our trust. It’s clear that he’ll be investigating under the pretense of giving himself up. Mia, he wouldn’t just give in like that.” He walked over to her and knelt down. “Have some faith in your captain.”
She looked up at him and smiled while nodding.
I know that Hikaru is right but… I can’t shake a bad feeling. What does the Captain expect us to do? Also, what kind of forces will be waiting for us in Seiren… How does he expect us to take them all on by ourselves?
She drifted in thought, contemplating the situation and stressing over it.
Hikaru rose and faced the other three. “Now, enough with the worry and whatnot. Currently, we simply need to stay close behind. We’ll begin our mission immediately.”
The three looked at him with determination. In that instance, all of their worry and negative thoughts vanished, and their resolve as huntsmen, as soldiers, stood forth.
Clap Clap Clap!
“Very nice speech, very nice indeed!”
They all shot their focus at the entrance of the building. A figure stood in front of the shut door.
“It seems you care a lot for your traitorous friends. That’s good to hear. It isn’t too often that you find such close ties in this messed up world.” The figure came forward, or rather, a man wearing the huntsman garb came casually walking towards the group.
“Who are you? Identify yourself! We won’t hesitate to use force to save our comrades.” Hikaru began to take a combative stance.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Whoa now, lieutenant, calm down. I ain’t here to cause any problems. I’m a friendly guy.” The man came closer. “My name is Eiduro Saiichi, division fourteen seat seven Eiduro they call me. I’m just a helping hand, I swear!”
Eiduro took another step closer and tipped his eastern round sun hat.
“Hikaru, this man is clearly suspicious. We can’t trust a word he says.” Hetomo slowly reached to his side, placing his hand on the pommel of his blutklinge. “Should we deal with this suspicious huntsman?”
Hikaru looked over at Hetomo. “No, no, there’s no need for that. Just let me handle this. Yuai, if things get dicey, take Mia away from here.”
The gal-ish huntsman nodded and walked over to the worried Mia.
Hikaru returned his gaze to the man before him. “Fourteenth division, huh? And you’re the seventh seat. I kind’ve expected someone from the division that handles security to show up. Didn’t expect them right off the bat, though.”
“Aha! So you have heard of me! I knew my glorious name would spread all over Seiren.”
“I said division fourteen, not you specifically. I’ve never heard of an Eiduro Saiichi before. And I don’t make it a habit to memorize the names of other division members.”
“Hmm, I see. A rude one, huh?” Eiduro tapped his foot in annoyance. “Well then, let’s get you into Seiren, shall we?”
“Huh? Wait what?”
The group’s faces shared the same expression of confusion.
He wants to escort us? We definitely can’t trust him, and I wanna keep Mia out of danger as much as possible… If we play along, this may end up as a reckless move, but… We don’t necessarily have a choice.
“Oh, by the way. Since that stealth squad huntsman took your captain in through the main entrance, he locked the door behind him. And if you take a quick peek at it, you’ll see that the door isn’t exactly made of some flimsy material. So you don’t reeeeeeally have a choice.”
“So, like how will we get in? Yep.”
“Now that’s rather simple, lil missy.” Eiduro raised his hands in the air and shot them to the right. “Jazz hands! Looking to the right, you’ll see a hatch! There is an old underground passage used for maintenance and other purposes.”
"Not very secure," Mia commented, eyeing the hatch. “Hikaru, is this really Seiren? You’d think that such a huge military operation would have more security. Also, that guy said ‘division fourteen’. How many divisions are there?”
“Well, there’s fifteen, but right now isn’t the time to chat about it. After this whole mess is over, you’ll have loads of time to learn stuff.” Hikaru sighed, “Hetomo, Yuai, Mia, for now, we’ll follow this guy. I know he’s suspicious, but we have no other options.”
The three seemed hesitant to Hikaru’s order, but complied with his command.
“Yes, sir!” They yelled in unison.
“Alright Eiduro Saiichi, take us inside.”
