Kaya's breath came in ragged gasps, her vision began to blurring from the pain and exhaustion. Every muscles in her body screamed in protest as her legs and arms trembling under the strain of keeping up with Emanuel's relentless assault. She knew she couldn't keep this up for much longer, and with her mana nearly depleted, she could only rely on minimal movements to conserve her remaining energy.

Behind a nearby tree, Gabby watched the intense fight with anxious eyes. Her body was covered with bleeding scratches, dried blood, and a few bruises from her previous battles. Jason helped her getting rid of most enemies, at one point he told her he can't afford to fight alongside her any longer since he needs to look for Sam. He saw some members of Heaven's Gate is heading toward Sam, he can't fight them all by himself, especially not when he's injured. Gabby gave him a nod of affirmation and then he immediately separated from her, she had managed to fend off the remaining enemies on her own by relying purely on her speed and combat instincts since her mana was basically still depleted. Normally, she could fight rather easily and not getting to much wounds by using her runes skill, but since she can't use any skills, it's not surprising she's wounded quite heavily.

Gabby's heart ached terribly as she watched Kaya struggle against Emanuel, the sight of her sister being pushed to he limits filled her with a deep gnawing worry. How could Kaya be struggling so much? Even if Gabby didn't know much about other survivors except Stormbringers and Heaven's Gate group, she's confident to say that Kaya is one of the most powerful person. Excluding Kaya level, her powerful skills alone is a force to be reckoned with.

'what the fuck?? how the hell can he go toe to toe against Kaya when he's ten level below her??' Gabby thought, bewildered by the discrepancy.

The sheer physical prowess he displayed is making zero sense, a whole lot of bullshit. To achieved that kind of power he needed all the stats he can get to be that strong, Gabby knew about this since it's basic shit, but that guy, Emanuel, seemed to defy and break the logic she knew. In the whole fight, he didn't use any kind of active skill as far as she know, he just simply relying on his crazy strong physical strength.

An unknown amount of time had passed as she lost in her own thought while watching Kaya at the same time, but then Gabby suddenly snapped back to reality as she saw Kaya sent sprawling by another brutal hit from Emanuel. Her heart ached even more at the sight, but Kaya, despite her injuries still maintained a defiant look on her face. Kaya gripped her spear and firmly planted on the ground, forcing herself to stand tall.

Tears welled up in Gabby's eyes as she watched, her heart is torn apart by the displayed of her sister's relentless spirit despite covered in injuries. She wanted to help but she knew in her current state, she would be more of a burden than a help to Kaya. Gabby desperately racking her brain for a solution, she unconsciously bit her lip so hard to the point of drawing blood.

Then, an idea struck her. She opened her satchel and found one health potion, it's the least health potion she had. She took it out and holding it firmly, she glanced at Kaya who was in the middle of exchanging blows with Emanuel.

With a soft smile, she whispered, "I know there's a high chance for me to die from the choice i'm about to make, but i'm not going to regret it nor will I back down. For you, sister, i'm willing to give my everything."

Her eyes filled with determination, Gabby immediately got up while holding the potion tightly.

Meanwhile, Kaya was engaged in a brutal exchange with Emanuel, each of her movements calculated to move as minimal as possible to conserve energy. When her spear thrust collide with the incoming punch, both were immediately knocked back, sending them both flying from the force of the impact. Kaya noticed that his strikes seemed to be way slower and weaker than before, she didn't know the reason why his strength suddenly decreased. Questions swirled in her mind, but she was immediately jolted out of her thought by a loud, familiar yell. It was Gabby voice.

"Kaya, catch this!" Gabby yelled, throwing the potion toward her sister.

Kaya turned her head, catching the sight of the potion flying her way and her sister state, heavily wounded. When she caught the potion, her expression showed a deepening worry as she saw Gabby.

Gabby yelled again, "Don't worry about me! Just use it Kaya! Hurry!" Before Kaya could respond, Gabby ran and disappeared into the forest again.

Shaking her head, Kaya downed the potion in one go. When her wounds began to heal she turned her attention back to Emanuel, only to find him gone from where he had been. Kaya look around frantically, soon after she spotted him halfway towards the tree Gabby's hiding before, charging with fury in his eyes.

Ignoring the remaining pain, Kaya quickly exerted her electricity to the maximum and sprinted after him, not caring about her depleting mana.

Emanuel was enraged. He had been so close to victory, only have it snatched away by Gabby's interference. His frustration boiled over as he charged at her, his mind dead set on eliminating the one who disrupt his fun. After running quite a bit he saw Gabby running deeper into the forest and he grinned ear to ear like a madman. He's propelling himself off the trees to increase his speed, within moments he caught up to her. He then leaped above her and slamming the ground with his fists.

Gabby managed to dodged the strike but the shockwave from his strike sent her stumbling, as she tried to regain her footing, Emanuel lunged toward her. He launched barrage of strikes, each one of his strikes is powerful and vicious. Not having enough time to dodge, Gabby took several hits, she shifted her weight and twisting her body to kill some of the force behind his strikes. Fortunately she managed to minimize the damage to her body due to her quick response, but she couldn't keep up with his relentless assault forever as she's not in her top condition. A powerful punch managed to hit her stomach, and sent her flying as she coughed up blood.

When Emanuel about to moved in for the kill, a bright blue lightning spear approached with terrifying speed!

His eyes widened in alarm and his danger sense screaming at him, he barely have any time to react, he decided to put his hands closely forward and curling up to defend himself as the spear struck. He braced himself but he miscalculated, the impact blew off his entire right arm and his other bled profusely as he was sent flying into a tree.

Kaya breathed heavily, the electricity around her slowly fading away as her mana finally ran out. She approach Gabby who was half conscious, her body screaming in pain from overexertion everytime she take a step forward. Using her spear to support herself, Kaya crouched down, her hands trembling as she touched Gabby's cheek.

"G-Gabby? S-sister? A-are y-you o-okay?" Kaya's voice was stammered and full of fear.

Gabby smiled weakly. "I'm okay. I won't die from this, Kaya. I'm glad most of your wounds have healed."

Kaya hearing her sister weak voice immediately began to cry, hugging her sister. "I'm serious here! P-please Gabby, think a-about yourself! And stop lying t-to comfort me!" Her voice kept on stammering, and heartbroken when she heard her sister response.

Gabby caressed Kaya's head, chuckling weakly. "Hey, stop shouting in my ear you silly girl. I'm really okay, i've got about 20% health left."

Kaya didn't respond, still hugging Gabby while sobbing. Gabby continued to caress her long red hair and gently pat her back, but then her eyes suddenly widened in horror as she saw Emanuel charging at them with bloodshot eyes. Not having enough time react to alert Kaya, Gabby closed her eyes and proceed to hugging Kaya tightly, accepting their fate.

'This is it... We both are going to die here. Oh well, I don't mind it as long as my sister is with me.'

When she fully embrace the fact she's going to die, expecting the arrival of death blow, she instead heard the sound of someone... Rolling on the ground? Opening her eyes, she saw Jason in front of them breathing heavily with disfigured left arm and Emanuel rolling on the ground.

Jason turned to Gabby, "Sorry i'm late, I had to take care of a certain vomiting princess." He said jokingly.
