CONFIDENTIAL REPORT

Subject: The Beginning Of The True Catastrophe

Date: [REDACTED]

Classification Level: [REDACTED]

Facility Code: X-004

Subject: The Emergence of the Unknown Monster and the Escalation of the Corruptor Crisis

Purpose: Documentation of the events leading to the catastrophic escalation of the Corruptor crisis and the introduction of an unknown, highly destructive entity.

Summary: This document details the series of unprecedented events that marked the true catastrophe for our planet, beginning with the mysterious loss of contact with lunar research stations and culminating in the descent of an unknown, colossal monster.

The arrival of this entity exacerbated the Corruptor crisis, leading to widespread chaos and destruction.

Chronology of Catastrophic Events:

1. Initial Success Against the Corruptor: Over time, humans managed to effectively combat the Corruptor, reducing infection rates through systematic eradication efforts. The more they fought, the more they leveled up, gaining strength and skills.

2. Sudden Loss of Lunar Contact: Without warning, numerous human research stations on the moon lost contact with our planet. This anomaly signaled the beginning of an unforeseen and devastating series of events.

3. Disruption of Celestial Cycles: The night and day cycle appeared to freeze, an unnatural stasis gripping the planet. Concurrently, the full moon's light vanished as if "something" had taken a bite out of it, transforming it into a crescent shape.

4. Arrival of the Unknown Monster: An unknown entity, capable of taking a literal bite out of the moon, descended towards our planet. Its origin and nature remain unknown. Witnesses across the globe watched in horror as it approached.

Impact and Escalation:

1. Immediate Chaos:The descent of the monster caused widespread panic. The Corruptor, previously under control, began to surge in strength and numbers, likely influenced by the presence of the new threat.

2. Rapid Spread of Infection:The infection rates skyrocketed. The strengthened Corruptor wreaked havoc, killing indiscriminately and spreading the infection at an alarming rate.

3. Prioritized Annihilation:The unknown monster exhibited a chilling pattern in its attacks, prioritizing the highest-level humans first before proceeding to lower-level individuals. The rationale behind this behavior remains a mystery, but it systematically dismantled the planet's strongest defenders.

Descent into Ruin:

Widespread Devastation:

1. With the Corruptor crisis spiraling out of control and the monstrous entity targeting the populace, civilization teetered on the brink of collapse. In the face of this unprecedented dual threat, organized resistance crumbled.

2. Loss of Hope:The coordinated strength of humanity faltered under the relentless assault. The combination of a reinvigorated Corruptor and an unstoppable monster left no time for strategic response.

Conclusion:The arrival of the unknown monster marked the beginning of the true catastrophe, plunging the planet into chaos and ruin. The Corruptor crisis, already a significant threat, was exacerbated to uncontrollable levels. The reasons behind the monster's actions, especially its targeted killings, remain unknown. In the face of these overwhelming odds, our civilization's survival hangs by a thread.

Sam sat back, his hands trembling slightly as he processed the information. The true catastrophe had been far worse than he could have imagined. The systematic prioritization of killing higher-level humans was particularly chilling. Then, this also answer why this planet called "Evernight" by the System doesn't have night and day cycle. It literally stop because is the sudden appearance of the unknown monster.

'It's capable of taking a bite out of the moon like a cookie and it's also capable of interfering with the law of the universe simply with it's presence..?' Sam thought.

Not wanting to be idle, Sam began rifling through the remaining documents in the archives, hoping to find something that could further explain the catastrophic events described in the three documents he had already discovered. However, most of the papers he found were either trivial or entirely unrelated to the crisis. Frustration and exhaustion began to creep in, and he sat down to gather his thoughts.

Then it hit him: Dr. Rahman's office, right next to the archives. There had to be more information there. Driven by a sudden surge of hope, Sam hurried to Dr. Rahman's office and began his search. The room was cluttered, the desk piled with papers and equipment. As he sifted through the mess, his hand brushed against something in the pocket of a lab coat draped over a chair.

He pulled out a small, square device resembling a walkie-talkie but without an antenna. Curiosity piqued, Sam pressed the button in the center. A burst of static filled the room, and after a moment, a male voice emerged from the device. It was a recording of Dr. Rahman.

"Hello, this is Dr. Rahman. If you are hearing this, it means I didn't make it. I'm recording this message to explain what happened here. A few days ago, we lost contact with several of our main facility branches. It's safe to assume that some of them have been breached."

The voice was tinged with exhaustion and fear, punctuated by occasional stutters.

"The facility I am in is one of many smaller ones. But no matter how small, what matters is that the infection cannot get me here as long as everything is well lit. You see, the Corruptor infects through the shadows. If someone is exposed to shadows for too long, the Corruptor will emerge from the darkness and infect them. But even knowing all this, I don't know how long we can survive."

The recording paused, replaced by static. Then, Dr. Rahman's voice resumed, this time filled with regret and desperation.

"We were wrong! We shouldn't have killed the Corruptor. We should have contained them and left them alone!"

The sound of heavy breathing could be heard as Dr. Rahman seemed to gather his thoughts.

"The reason we shouldn't have killed them is that they belong to a monster we should never have provoked. But it's too late now. We've already killed too many Corruptor. Then it began, the one behind the Corruptor took notice. Its children had been slain, and it came for us. It swallowed a part of the moon and descended upon our planet. This wasn't part of its plan, but we invited it. Our actions exposed our location, and now it's only a matter of time before we all perish."

Dr. Rahman's voice turned calm but defeated.

"I am sorry for failing in my duty as a researcher. To whoever is listening to this recording, do not provoke the monstrous entity. I don't know how many years will pass after this recording, but if the monster goes into slumber after annihilating humanity, do NOT wake it up. If it wakes, may God forgive your soul."

A gunshot rang out, followed by silence. The recording ended abruptly, leaving Sam in stunned quiet.

Sam stood there, the weight of Dr. Rahman's words pressing heavily on him. The full extent of the disaster was now painfully clear. The initial success against the Corruptor had led to unimaginable consequences. By killing the Corruptor, humanity had inadvertently summoned a far greater terror.

As he lost in his thoughts, suddenly something clicked inside his head.

"Wait a damn minute.. slumbering monster?" Sam muttered, his eyes wide open.

He hurriedly open the system window.

"You got to be shitting me.." Sam muttered.

The pieces fell into place, this monster, G'rath, was the very entity the system had warned against awakening. His face immediately paled as he realized the magnitude of the threat. With the rate at which other Survivors were mindlessly slaughtering the beasts of the forest to level up, the chances of G'rath awakening were terrifyingly high. Sam felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. Convincing the other players to stop their reckless killing would be nearly impossible, they were too engrossed in their quest for power and progress.

Fortune, however, had favored Sam in one crucial way. He had always been cautious, never indulging in excessive killing just to gain levels. A grim determination settled over him as he made a vow to himself: when the day came that G'rath awoke, he would ensure he was the lowest-level player. If G'rath prioritized its victims by their strength, Sam would be targeted last.

"I have to survive, no. I WILL survive until the end." Sam muttered to himself, clenching his fist into a ball in determination.
