Sam noticed the incredulous looks on their faces and couldn't help but feel a bit offended.
"Hey, don't look at me like I'm crazy. What's up with you all?" he said, his tone defensive.
The three of them exchanged quick glances, then Kaya stepped forward to speak.
"It's not because we think you're crazy," she began carefully,
"but it's just..." She paused, searching for the right words.
"You seem to be oddly nonchalant about this, like you don't even take it seriously."
Jason and Gabby nodded in agreement with Kaya's observation.
Sam scratched his head, his annoyance evident despite the mask covering his face.
"I was already shocked enough when I found out the truth and what we're dealing with here," he sighed.
"There's no reason for me to be tense or panic now. I'd rather focus on forming a plan to survive this tutorial and live to see another day."
His tone carried a hint of irritation, and Gabby, sensing the rising tension, quickly tried to change the subject.
"So, what do you think we should do from now on, Sam?"
Sam turned to Gabby and replied,
"Well, I don't know about 'we,' but I know what I should do, and that is to do nothing."
Before Gabby could ask another question, Kaya interjected,
"So you want to live by hiding like a coward?"
Sam faced Kaya, his voice calm and unoffended.
"Sure, call me a coward. But in a matter of life and death, it doesn't sound too bad yeah? At least, not to me. Plus, I'm not a god or someone who can defeat a monster that literally doomed this planet. It's simply unlikely with my current strength."
Kaya's retort was immediate.
"If you're alone, sure, it's unlikely or even impossible. But what if we unite all the survivors?"
Gabby extended her hand towards Kaya, trying to interject,
"Wait, Kaya, I don't think-"
But Sam cut in,
"What makes you think we can win when even the humans on this planet failed to do so? This isn't a fairy tale, I'm sorry if it sounds harsh. We can't just fight against something a monster like G'rath that simple."
Kaya's determination was unwavering.

"I know it sounds delusional, but we can't just give up before even trying!"
Sam sighed.
"Alright, let's say we unite all the survivors like you said. The question is, how are you going to do that?"
Kaya thought for a moment before replying,
"I'm going to use the documents and recording you brought to convince the others. I also have my own evidence, such as the devastating loss of the Stormbringers."
When Sam was about to respond, Gabby interjected this time.
"I don't think it's going to be that simple and straightforward, Kaya."
Kaya replied,
"I know that, but with all the evidence we have, it shouldn't be that hard to unite most of the survivors, even if not all."
Gabby persisted,
"But what if they just ignore you, even when you show them all the evidence and explain everything?"
Kaya looked a bit bewildered.
"They're not really that dumb... right? There's no way most of them would ignore it. Even if they did, they'd be in the minority at most."
Gabby then patted Kaya's shoulder.
"Kaya, do you remember Robert?"
Hearing this, Kaya's anger visibly began to rise.
"Why do you bring him up?"
Seeing Kaya's rising anger, Sam couldn't help but comment, "Woah, looks like someone really hates hi-"
Jason quickly clamped his hand over Sam's mouth, feeling a cold sweat run down his back. He thought,
'This idiot can't read the room or what?! If Kaya's anger explodes here because of his mouth, he's going to die!'
Jason turned to both Gabby and Kaya. "Ahaha don't mind him, please continue."
Gabby shook her head at Jason's attempt to smooth things over. She then turned back to Kaya.
"You ask why I brought him up? Well, let's just say that Robert is an example that humans can really be that stupid, Kaya."
Kaya tried to retort,
"Sure, but as I said, someone like that spineless traitor is in the minority, not the majority."
With frustration evident on her face, Gabby replied,
"No, you don't understand, Kaya. It's not that simple to-"
Before Gabby could finish her sentence, Sam, having removed Jason's hand from his mouth, spoke up.
"Alright, if that's what you want, let's do it then."
Gabby frowned at Sam. "Don't encourage her, Sam. She needs to understand that-"
Once again, Sam cut her off.
"I know what you're trying to say, Gabby, but I think it's better for her to experience it firsthand. It's not like we lose anything by doing that."
Gabby sighed loudly, her voice tinged with defeat.
"You know what, whatever, let's just do that then."
Kaya, hearing her sister's defeated tone, tried to comfort her.
"Don't be like that, Sis. Come on, trust me on this one. I know I can do this."
Sam broke the atmosphere again.
"She's not worried about you failing, Kaya."
Kaya turned her head towards Sam, who continued,
"She's just trying to make you understand what what you're trying to do is not as simple as it sounds. Sure, you know it yourself, but at the same time, I feel like you don't fully understand. Kaya, you have the qualities of a leader, and from what I've heard from Gabby, you're an amazing leader."
Hearing this, Kaya felt touched that her sister thought of her like that. Snapping her out of her thoughts, Sam continued,
"But you're still green, and that's a fact. It's not a bad thing, but it means there are still things you lack."
Kaya replied, "What makes you say that? Have you ever tried to be a leader before?"
Sam shrugged.
"Let's just say it's my personal evaluation. And no, I don't have experience being a leader, but I'm sure of my evaluation."
Kaya smirked at Sam.
"What if your evaluation is entirely wrong? Are you going to apologize? Hm?"
Sam replied, "Feel free to prove me wrong, and I will apologize if that's what you want."
Her smirk turned into a small smile. "You know what? I like your guts, Sam. Don't go back on your words because I will never forget it."
Sam tilted his head slightly.
"Thank you, I guess? As for going back on my words, don't worry about it. I would never do that."
Jason chimed in with a low voice,
"So... when do we start?"
Sam turned to Jason.
"Once you and Kaya are fully or mostly recovered, we'll start. Looking at you both, I don't think it will take long. At most, we will depart tomorrow."
He turned his head towards Gabby and Kaya. "What do you guys say?"
Gabby replied, "I fully agree with you."
Kaya added, "Sure, why not."
With that, they began to rested until the next day came.
