Chapter 29: JUDGEMENT

“DIEEE!!!”

Ashv, who was being forced up by his brother with his left arm, suddenly shouted as he tried to attack him. He held a small dagger in his right hand and attempted to stealthily attack his brother. However, even this attempt of his, how I can say, failed utterly miserably.

Grab!

“?!”

“Is this the only thing you can do? Using cowardly attacks like this, our father never taught us the art of those damn knights to us.”

As a result of this second attack, his older brother caught the dagger with his hand, as he had expected this kind of attack from his younger sibling. He has thrown away the image he had of his brother from the moment he heard him from outside the tent, trying to burn him alive.

“You would have spared me, your brother? From whom, your treacherous self?”

Break!

This time, he broke the dagger in his grip using his brute strength and the shards dropped to the ground. With the same hand from which he broke the dagger, he held Ashv’s right arm. He held Ashv’s upper arm and then slowly tried to apply the pressure on them.

“B-Broth-her!! F-F-For-rgive me!!”

Crack!

Slowly, sounds of something cracking resounded in the area. The strength from which the older brother is holding Ashv slowly started to break his bones.

“ARGHH BROTHER!!!”

CRACK! CRACK!

“B-Brother!! S-S-Stop!!”

Now experiencing the extreme pain of having his bones slowly breaking inside him, Ashv started to beg for mercy from his brother. Writhing while having his bones crushed slowly, tears started to drip from his eyes while he tried to beg to his brother to stop.

“B-Brother!! P-P-Please, forgive m-me!!”

“Never!”

The older brother replied. This time, his voice wasn't as soft as before, but rather, it sounded more like a ruthless person crushing not his brother's hand, but an enemy's.

“No matter how much I tried to forgive you, you still couldn’t keep your insanity in your pants. I thought you would just accept your punishment as it is, but instead, you tried to kill me and Gan.”

“T-That..”

“And if that didn’t work, you tried to order Gan to almost kill himself. You have even lost the sense of pride we warriors should have by committing such grave mistakes.”

CRACK! CRACK!

“S-Sto- Augh...”

Chop!

Suddenly, Gan appeared and did a neck chop on Ashv, making him faint instantly.

“Young Master, do not do something that will create more problems in the future.”

Throw!

The older brother, holding the unconscious Ashv in his hand, looked at Gan silently as he tossed the unconscious Ashv sideways.

“Future, Gan?”

With only both of them standing, the older brother walked towards Gan and asked him while staring deep into his eyes.

“Tell me, Gan. Did you know that this would happen from the start? That this bastard would try to kill us? That he would try to give you a ridiculous order and that I would be asking you this question?”

The older brother grabbed both of Gan's shoulders and asked while his grip dug into Gan's muscles.

“Tell me!! How did you know what he was planning to do? How come you knew that he was torturing the sashs in the forest? How did you figure out that he was planning to burn us to death? Answer me!!”

He could not realize that his grip was slowly making Gan bleed as he was overcome by rage and the flood of questions that flooded his mind.

“Y-Young Master!!”

“Ahh...”

Only after Gan called to him did the older brother realize what he had done. Only then did the rage in his eyes fade away when he saw his hands stained with the blood of Gan.

“W-Wha...G-Gan?!”

He realized that the man standing in front of him was not a young man like his brother, but an aged man.

“I-I am s-sorry! Are you alright?”

“It’s alright... calm down, Young Master.”

Though in pain, Gan knew that he couldn't show weakness in front of the young master. Among the three, one is lying in the dirt, the other is having an existential crisis, and so as an elder between the three, Gan had the responsibility to somehow make sure they remained sane. Gan then put his hand on the older brother’s shoulder, reassuring him that he was fine.

“Young Master, I am fine. Do not worry.”

“B-But you a-arms...”

“They are fine. Please keep yourself together. I know this is difficult for you but we have to get back home. You cannot kill him as his judgment shall be passed by master only.”

“As for your question, let’s keep it on hold until we reach home.”

“...Fine.”

Finally, the older brother calmed down as he realized the top priorities they had right now. Ashv’s betrayal and what Gan is hiding don't matter much now.

“...You are right. My anger overtook me. Forgive me please.”

“Yes, Young Master. Let’s be on our way. I have finished preparing the horses.”

“Yes. Go and bring the horses while I lift this bastard.”

Following their conversation, Gan brought the horses while the older brother tied both of Ashv’s hands and legs while he gagged his mouth so that he couldn’t speak anymore. He also checked whether Ashv had hidden any other weapons or storage rings while he was there.

Not finding anything suspicious about Ashv, he then lifted him and rested him on his shoulders like a sack of grain. When Gan came, he put him behind himself on the horse he was riding.

“Let’s go. To get this fucker to his rightful place.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

With that, the three finally left the forest.
