The pounding against the backdoor echoed through the cargo hold of the plane, causing a sense of unease to spread throughout the passengers.
Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing the massive form of the griffin as it crawled inside, its talons scratching against the metal floor with each step it took. The creature let out a deafening roar, its screech causing Roger to cover his ears in agony as the sound pierced through him.
A smile spread across Katina's face. "Hell yeah! About time something happens!" she exclaimed, eager to jump into the action immediately.
The Cerberus women jumped to their feet. Their fists clenched and ready for the inevitable fight. The griffin charged at them, but the women held their ground, determined to protect their comrades.
In the chaos, Agent Rolf unbuckled Roger's seat harness and dropped a parachute pack onto his lap. "The plane is going to crash! We have to get off now!" he cried out, urgency in his voice.
Roger, still recovering from the griffin's screech, hesitated for a moment. "I never planned to skydive!" he protested, fear etched into his expression.
But Rolf was already strapping on his own parachute, grabbing Roger's hand and pulling him towards the open door of the cargo hold. "Too bad! We're jumping out now!" he declared, determined to make it to safety.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
As they sprinted to safety, the soldiers pushed the hummer truck and the crate out of the hold, before jumping out themselves. Roger heard an explosion behind them, the griffin having damaged the engines before it broke into the hold.
Rolf and Roger leapt into the night sky, the orange hue of the sky fading into a deep blue as they fell. Roger closed his eyes, the wind whipping against his face as he wished he had worn goggles like Rolf.
Suddenly, he felt Rolf's grip tighten around him, and he opened his eyes to find the agent holding onto him.
"Release your chute!" Rolf called out, his voice filled with urgency.
Roger nodded and pulled the string, his parachute deploying as Rolf released him. The two men glided through the air, until they finally landed safely on a green field surrounded by mountains.
As they caught their breath, the hummer truck and crate landed first, followed by the soldiers. From the sky, the women slammed the griffin into the ground and dismounted after their wild ride.
Roger rushed over to them. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with concern as he looked at the disorientated women.
"I think we got motion sickness," Cilla admitted, her head spinning from the adrenaline and the chaos.
Katina glared at her. "Don't hold it in! I don't want it to come out through my mouth!" she snapped, her voice filled with disgust.
Despite their dizziness, the women stood tall and ready for action as the soldiers circled around the griffin. But the monster was not yet defeated, and it roared back to life, diving down and killing each soldier with a deadly swipe of its claws.
Roger could only watch in horror as the griffin took down each member of the team, leaving Rolf, the Cerberus women, and him standing.
Katina growled, "That damn bird needs to go back into the oven!" her voice filled with determination.
It was clear that they would have to fight the griffin on the ground, a battle that promised to be.
