Chapter 610

Caleb's laughter came to a sudden halt amidst the chaos.

"Chelsea!"

In a flash, Caleb's face was smeared with blood. If they weren't all adults, and if it weren't for the whole men-versus-women thing, they might have just thrown caution to the wind and started a full-on brawl right there. The poor bottles and glasses on the table didn't stand a chance; anything that could be hurled was used as ammo in their skirmish. The restaurant owner tried to step in, but it was no use, so he ended up calling the cops.

When Casper and Eliza made it to the station, both Caleb and Chelsea looked like they'd been through the wringer-hair messed up, clothes a mess, the works.

"What on earth happened to you two?" Eliza asked as she approached Chelsea. Before she could even brush Chelsea's hair out of her face to get a better look, Chelsea clung to her. "Elle, Caleb was horrible to me! He groped me and hit me, and I'm going to sue him."

Eliza was speechless, eyes darting to Caleb in disbelief. Casper frowned and gave Caleb a slap across the face, "Come on, man, really?"

Caleb, already reeling from Chelsea's blows, was on the verge of tears from Casper's unwarranted slap. "Bro, don't buy into her nonsense. I didn't bully her! She's just being irrational, a total handful."

"Yeah, I'm crazy, a handful, and you're a creep with no respect. You haven't seen a woman in ages and you dared to touch me. Just admit it already!"

Chelsea seemed ready to flip Caleb over her shoulder. Caleb, at a loss for words, decided it was best not to argue further.

Eliza gently rubbed Chelsea's back, trying to calm her down. "Okay, okay, let's get this sorted. First, we'll go to the hospital and get you checked out."

She shot a look at Casper, who nodded and went off to handle the paperwork and sort out things with the club owner.

Once everything was settled, Eliza said, "I'll take Chelsea to the hospital. Casper, you should drive Dr. Caleb home."

"Give me a call if anything comes up," Casper said, softly ruffling Eliza's hair. "She was pretty wasted, so maybe don't take everything she said too seriously."

"Yeah, I know."

Eliza helped Chelsea into the car and headed to the hospital, while Casper got Caleb into his car. Caleb, feeling wronged, had tears brimming in his eyes.

"Come on, man, what's with the tears?" Casper handed him a couple of tissues. "Why get worked up over a drunk woman? Were you drinking too?"

"Bro, I didn't touch her. She was

about to fall, and I reached out to

steady her. I admit I got the

positioning wrong, but I let go fight away. She's just trying to ruin my reputation."

After all, he's a doctor who's seen it all with patients. He wouldn't do something like that to Chelsea.

"I know you wouldn't do something like that," Casper reassured him, knowing Caleb's character well. Caleb was confused. "Then why'd you hit me?"

"If I didn't, Eliza would have, and it's better if it came from me. It was more for Eliza's peace of mind, you know?"

Caleb sighed deeply, "Just my luck."

At the hospital, Eliza stayed with

Chelsea as she got her facial injuries treated and took some hangover meds. As she tidied Chelsea's messy hair, she teased, "I went out to have a drink, and here you are getting hammered! How did you end up fighting with Caleb?"

"He... burp... touched me," Chelsea slurred, hiccuping.noveldrama

"We should've checked our horoscopes before stepping out today," Eliza said, helping Chelsea up, ready

to take her home. "Come on, I'm taking you back."

"Elle, you're the best."

Chelsea leaned on Eliza like a child.

After settling Chelsea in, Eliza finally rubbed her sore arms and checked

the time. It was already the early hours of the morning. As she

stepped out of Chelsea's place

ready to hail a cab, she noticed the headlights of a nearby car flash

twice. A man stepped out, opening the car door.
