Nathan flashed a bright smile. "Do you like it?"
"I do," she replied, a bit shyly.
Nathalie picked out a beautiful spot for Patrick's final resting place and arranged for a priest to perform a memorial service before laying him to rest. Miranda seemed quite satisfied with how things turned out. Once everything was settled, Nathalie sought out Miranda, ready to hold her to her promise. "Now, it's time for you to keep your word, isn't it?"
Miranda hesitated, struggling with what to say, clearly regretting her impulsive promise to Nathalie. "I was just talking nonsense; your real father passed away ages ago," she lied.noveldrama
Nathan, upset, retorted, "I figured you might pull something like this. That's why I had a backup plan. If you back out, I'll dig up Patrick's urn and scatter his ashes into the sea."
Miranda finally relented, admitting, "Actually, you have met your biological father."
Nathalie was taken aback. "I have? Who is he?"
Miranda reached into her pocket, pulled out an old wallet, and opened it to reveal a bracelet. She handed
it to Nathalie, saying, "Take this to the Stewart family and ask them."
"The Stewart family?" Both Nathalie and Nathan paused, clearly surprised.
Nathalie wanted to press for more information, but Miranda kept tight-lipped. Left with no other option, Nathalie and Nathan headed home.
Back at home, Nathalie's once-peaceful life felt unsettled. She often found herself on the balcony, lost in thought while holding the bracelet. The bracelet was nothing special, with its clover design being something you could find anywhere. If this was supposed to be a token of love from her father to her mother, Nathalie felt it was pretty cheap considering the Stewart family's status.
She sighed softly, feeling that her mother might not have been cherished by her father.
Nathan joined her, sitting closely.
"Nathan, do you think my dad loved my mom?"
Nathan took her hand and kissed it gently. "Can you see my unwavering love for you in the simple gift I gave you?"
Nathalie thought back to the token of affection Nathan had given her, also plain, yet it held memories of the tough times they had faced together.
Feeling a bit more at ease, Nathalie decided, "I'm still going to visit the Stewart family."
A flicker of hesitation crossed Nathan's eyes. "I'll have Lizzy go with you."
Nathalie was taken aback; Nathan was usually glued to her side. Why avoid the Stewart family now? This only deepened Nathalie's doubts about the connection between Ashley's wedding ring and Nathan. "Alright," she said, her voice a bit quieter than usual.
That evening, Nathalie decided to visit Dustin.
But as luck would have it, just as she arrived at the Stewart family's place, she ran into. Ashley and her parents The family was returning home, chatting and laughing, creating an atmosphere so warm and inviting that Nathalie couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy.
"Ms. Nathalie, what brings you here?" Ashley asked, sounding surprised.
Ashley called her Ms. Nathalie
Paige, which only added to
Nathalie's unease. Her gut told her Ashley was deliberately sidestepping her marriage to Nathan.
"I wanted to have a word with Dustin."
Dustin Grace greeted Nathalie with a chilly politeness. "Ms. Nathalie, make yourself at home. We won't be staying with you." With that, he and his partner walked away hand in hand.

In contrast to her parents' coldness, Ashley played the gracious host, offering, "Let me take you to see my grandfather."
