As everyone else goes either north or east, Jian goes west, moving into the city district. Quib follows him closely, making her way through the crowd of city folk.
After about thirty minutes of stalking, she can just barely see Jian move into an internet cafe past a thick cloak of people. Seeing as he isn't in any immediate danger and probably isn't going to leave the cafe anytime soon, she decides to hide within the crowd as she thinks over her next course of action.
Giving the matter a good deal of thought, she eventually concludes that the best way of defending someone who is in danger is to be close to them and to gain their trust, making them believe that the person is there to protect them, or to at least be a friend.
She lowers her cloak's hood behind her head and swings her head back and forth to allow her hair to get evened out. After which she ties her hair back into the spiky ponytail that she normally wears and walks into the cafe.
The cafe is filled to the brim with computers, but it seems that today no one is around to sit at the stations. She counts out that there is a total of about five people sitting at any of the stalls when she enters the building.
It takes her a few moments, but she is able to make out Jian sitting at one of the stalls at the back corner of the room. “Aw, he looks kind of lonely...” Quib thinks to herself. “I think I'll go give him some company.”
In a slow trot, Quib goes over to the stall to the right of the one Jian is at. She pulls up a seat next to him and says a simple “Hi” to him in an attempt to get his attention.
He doesn't notice her, not even hearing her voice. It takes Quib a moment to notice it, but Jian has a pair of small earphones attached to a thin MP3 player stuck in his ears.
Not wanting to be rude, she nudges Jian's shoulder in an attempt to gain his attention. Luckily, it is enough of a notification to her presence to gain Jian's attention.
He takes his hand and plucks an earphone out of his right ear while turning and says “What is it-” but his words are cut off once he sees Quib's face.
In his mind, he has never seen someone as beautiful as she is. Her sparkling, light blue eyes, her clear complexion, her tied back light purple hair with a few bangs hanging off of the front of her forehead. He doesn't know what is happening to him, but it is as if his heart has just skipped a beat.

He puts his hand to his left chest plate as he feels a massive pain gripping his body. He checks his heartbeat and his mind goes white as he realizes what is happening.
His heart has stopped.
He drops to the ground from his seat as the room starts to turn black. His last thoughts before passing out go back and forth between whether he is about to die and who this mysterious girl is that made him feel this way. The room fades, his hearing becomes muffled, and everything goes dark....
Jian awakens weakly, his eyes taking a little bit longer then normal to adjust to the room. He doesn't remember what happened to him, all he remembers is blacking out from something.
Once his eyes have adjusted, he notices that he is inside of his dorm room. It's late at night, which he can tell from the windows to his left and the fact that the room's lights are on.
He rubs his eyes and looks up to see a brown cloaked person standing on the other side of the room. The person's hood is pulled over her head, hiding her face under a shroud of darkness. “Jian,” she says in a low voice “please don't try to remember, it might bring back what nearly killed you....”
“Who are you, and what are you talking about?” Jian says in confusion.
“You had a heart attack when you were at an internet cafe earlier today. Luckily I had a defibrillator on me and I was able to restart your heart. After running some tests, my friends discovered that you have an extremely rare heart disease that only surfaces when a person finds their true love. Apparently, that person is me.” the cloaked person says before advancing towards Jian and drawing out an extremely long syringe. “Just lay back down and close your eyes, you will only feel it for a second....”
Jian's eyes light up at the sight of the syringe. He backs up hastily to the back of his bed in fear of the long needle. Quib stops in her tracks when she sees the fear in Jian's eyes. She lowers her head and says in a calming voice “Please Jian, you must understand that I must do this if you and me are ever going to be together, and more importantly, if you actually want to see my face again.”
Jian takes a deep breath before saying “Alright, just do it before I change my mind....” and then lays back down on his bed.
Once Jian has re-positioned himself, Quib walks over to him and takes out her syringe once more. “Before you jab me with that needle, can I at least get your name...?” Jian asks as Quib uses one of her hands to shut Jian's eyes.
She leans in close to Jian's left ear and says “My name is Quib Triha, and I will protect you just as much as you love me....” She pulls her syringe up above her head and readies for the insertion into Jian's heart.
Jian feels a sudden, sharp pain in his chest cavity where his heart should be, and then nothing but silence and darkness as he drifts to sleep....
