Raphael is sitting inside of his local school bus, waiting calmly to begin his first day of the semester. He sits in his seat with his arm's crossed. He sighs to himself as he watches the scenery go by. He's wearing a white, plain t-shirt and a pair of black shorts, since it is around the summer months end.
He turns his head over and looks at the girl sitting next to him. “Are you sure you're ready for this, Teru'? I mean, you've never been to a Pontractus Numarus school before.”
The girl sitting next to him has brown hair that goes down to about her jaw and has purple eyes. Raphael can see her just like the way he is supposed to, like how all aliens out of a person's solar system look, but the other students on the bus don't. She is wearing a decoy device on her left wrist that has been calibrated with Raphael's vision to make him see her as she is supposed to look, but everyone else on the bus sees her as a regular person. The way they see her is with green eyes, not purple, but the brown hair is still visible. She is wearing a pink t-shirt with a logo of a red, tribal-style skull on it and a pair of tan pants.
“Nah, don't worry about me, man, I'll be just fine. I went through school before joining the UHG, so I'll probably be able to keep up with the school work. In the case that I can't, it don't really matter that much. I ain't goin' to yo school for learnin', I'm here to protect ya. Eitha way, do ya know anybody at yo school ya can trust?”
“Not really... I came to this state only two years ago, so I barely know anyone. I made a few acquaintances, but that's it. Either way, I want you to be on your best behavior while we're at school. And remember, we're not there to fight anyone, we're there to go about my standard life and that's it.”
“Alright, Boss-man, no need to go all crazie on me'. I won't do anythin' to cause ya any trouble, alright?” Teruin says before crossing her arms, crossing one leg over the other and sitting back in her seat.
Raphael and Teruin remain in relative silence for the remainder of the trip. Once the school bus arrives at Raphael's middle school, they both get off in a single file line. After they get off of the bus, Teruin speaks “So Boss-man, where are we goin'?”
“Hold on, give me a second...” Raphael says as he unfolds the guide he got in the mail that he had hidden away in his pocket. He brings the paper up to eye level and says “Alright, from what this says, we'll be going to room 104-”
Raphael is cut off by a passing student that pushes him to the side. After regaining his composure, Raphael looks towards him and says “Hey, that wasn't very nice-”
Right after he says those words, the student spins around and throws a haymaker aimed for Raphael's head.
Raphael reacts quickly and dodges underneath of the blow. While still in his crouched stance, he pulls his right elbow back and hits him right in the ribcage. The blow knocks him off-guard, but Teruin's earth magic, which she activates with the tap of her foot, sends a tremor that sends the student to the ground.
Raphael looks down at the student and says “I wouldn't suggest trying that again....” before turning on the balls of his feet and walking off into the school building. Teruin follows close behind him, leaving the student on the ground.
A few minutes pass and Raphael and Teruin are now sitting in their homeroom. “So Boss-man, what's on da schedule ta-day?” Teruin asks while leaning back in her chair.
“We don't have anything out of the ordinary to do, we're just going to class like normal students. Since today is the first day of school, we'll mainly just be introduced to our teachers and that's just about it. From what Yen has told me, the UMA doesn't have any contacts on Pon. Numarus, so they weren't able to get us in the same class schedule. We'll just be in the same homeroom and that's just about it. If anything comes up on either of our sides during the school day, contact me on your glasses and we'll meet up as soon as possible. You did remember to bring them, correct?” Raphael says while examining his day schedule.
Teruin pulls out a pair of brown, almost earthen-colored, trimmed glasses and puts them on her face. “Ya got that, Boss-man! I brought them with me, just as ya asked.”
“Alright, very good. If I remember correctly, Yen got Miyra to upgrade your glasses with a Demu detector. It should start vibrating whenever a Demu is within a half-mile of you. It is a low vibration that is only felt in the back leg of the glasses, so it shouldn't bother you too extremely-”

As Raphael is speaking, a girl walks up from behind him. “Hey, what's your name?”
Raphael turns his head and sees a girl that obviously has some Indian in her blood. She looks almost fully Indian, but he can see a little Caucasian in her, but just barely. She has almond shaped eyes, black hair in a ponytail, and brown eyes. “Hmm?” Raphael says as he turns to look at her. “Oh, hello, my name's Raphael. I moved here about two years ago. This is my friend... Terra.” Raphael nudges his head in Teruin's direction, knowing that Teruin is not a common name on this portion of his planet. “And what might your name be?”
“My name's Elisa. My friends over there-” Elisa says while pointing to two other students at the far end of the room sitting at a desk. “-want you to come and talk with us.”
Raphael looks at Teruin, both of them exchanging glances. They argue with each other momentarily via eye contact, but Raphael wins in the end, since Teruin acknowledges that he is her commander. Raphael then looks back up at the girl and says “We'd be happy to talk with you and your friends, right Terra?”
“Ya got that Bos... Raphael.” Teruin says back to Raphael. She then gets up from her seat and walks over to the table with Elisa, with Raphael following behind the two of them.
Raphael and Teruin pull up two seats next to the desk that the other students are at and Raphael introduces himself “My name's Raphael Danteo and the girl that is with me is my friend Terra. Any particular reason you two wanted to see me and her?”
One of the two students is African-American and the other is Caucasian with a bit of Norwegian in her blood. The African-American student is clearly the leader of the group. He speaks after Raphael is finished. “My name's Dorian Esic, and my other friend is Carrol Wies. I saw how you dealt with that bully in the front of the school. I wouldn't have thought that a scrawny, nerdy guy like you would be able to move that fast, I'm impressed!”
Raphael crosses his arms and looks at Dorian. “Any other reason for calling me here than to congratulate me on fighting scum like him?”
“Yeah, we do have another reason for calling you over here.” Dorian says while flipping a pencil in his fingers. “I have two reasons for bringing you here. One reason is that me and my friends want to be your friends. Having a friend like you could prove useful, and we like to be friends with the people who are nerdy, but can fight back. The other reason is that I'm trying to build up a group to help around the school. Ya know, cleaning the hallways, painting over graphiti, picking up trash, stuff like that. We're also going to be going up against bullies, so if you join, then we're going to need you to deal with any bullies you see. So, what do ya think? Want to join up?”
Raphael pushes back on his chair as he thinks over what is being asked of him. He looks over at Teruin and they exchange glances. He pushes himself up right a few moments later and says “Eh, why not! Sure, I'll join up with you guys, as long as you allow Terra to be part of the group too.”
“She can be part of our group, no problem!” Dorian says, giving Raphael a smile. “The teacher's don't know about our group, so keep this quiet and don't be telling everybody that your part of this, okay?”
Raphael smiles at Dorian and gives a grunt of agreement. “Don't worry about me, I know how to keep my mouth shut. Now, what should we do-” Before Raphael can finish his sentence, he feels the communication device in his glasses start to vibrate. “Will you excuse me and Terra for a second, I need talk to her in private.”
“Alright, I'm sure that it's something important. Just come back and talk to us when you're finished speaking.” Dorian says, leaning back in his chair and turning his attention to Carrol.
Raphael and Teruin get up from their seats and Raphael leads her to a corner of the room that is currently vacant, giving the two of them some needed privacy. Once they are there, Raphael puts his fingers to his communication device and says “Hello?” in a low, quiet tone.
“Commander Raphael?” come's Henry's voice over the glasses in such a low tone only Raphael can hear it. “Good, I got a hold of you! Listen, I've been researching the way the Sigil heads have been acting on the world of Sentient Society and I think they are planning something.”
Raphael is about to say something, but Teruin jumps into the conversation on her communication glasses. “Yo Hen, what ya talkin' 'bout? I hear them Sigil head's be tryin' ta take over that world Boss-man be workin' at? They be tryin' ta mind control people and all that! Now what do ya mean they got somethin' big planned?”
“Oh, hello Teruin, wouldn't be able to mistake your voice. Now Commander, if my intel is correct, and it almost always is, the Sigil heads are planning to....” Henry says, drastically displaying the information he knows.
Raphael nods his head as he hears Henry's explanation of what he knows the Sigil heads are planning to do. When Henry has finished speaking, Raphael says “Thanks Henry, your intel will save many lives! Now if you don't mind, I have class to deal with, so I'll talk to you later.”
Raphael and Henry exchange goodbyes and then they both get off of their communicators along with Teruin. Teruin looks at Raphael once the conversation is over and says “This seems like the people from Sentient Society are in for some deep shit, Boss-man! What are ya gonna do bout it?”
Raphael doesn't even think over his answer. “Easy, I'm going to gather up my Sentient Society team, the people that are in Sentient Society, and some UMA soldiers and we're going to stop the Sigil heads! I know that I said that I wasn't going to get involved that much, but now I see that I need to play a bigger part. Don't worry about this mission, Teru', I only need me, the UMA soldiers, my team and the Sentient Society group, that should be more than enough. Now, let's get this school day started!”
