Despite the chaos earlier in the day when June fired her weapon, the majority of Unimori has started to calm down at this later time. Jian and his friend's were ordered over the school PA system to go back to the dormitories for the night. Given that Lera lives outside of the school premises, she was allowed to return home, along with any of the other students that live outside of Unimori's walls.
Jian, Boz and Carie, on the other hand, were all forced to stay within the boy and girl's dormitories for the remainder of the night.
Carie sleeps through the night completely unhampered, no one disturbing or bothering her in the slightest.
After being pushed back into the dormitories by policemen and school officials, Jian, Boz and all of the other male students go back to their dorm rooms. Boz doesn't go back to his room immediately, however, and instead goes to Jian's to talk with him.
Once Jian and Boz are back in Jian's dorm room, Boz shuts the door and stands behind it while Jian sits in his desk chair. “So Jian...” Boz says, almost not sure what to say. “That was pretty crazy, huh...?”
“Yeah, but it really isn't too surprising.... Didn't you see who one of them was fighting?” Jian says, his body and mind very calm considering the situation.
“Well, I know that the fight took place where Raphael's group usually looks over us from....” Boz says while tapping a finger to his chin in contemplation. Within a few moments, he remembers the visage of one of the individuals that were attacking one of Raphael's allies. “Wait, you don't think-?”
“Yeah, I think so. The Sigil heads are going after Raphael's group now. They must know that he is defending us!” Jian pronounces, slamming his balled fist on his knee for emphasis.
“Well, we did figure out that they attack anyone who gets away, but still, this really is getting ridiculous.... You said earlier that you think someone from Unimori is doing this, right? I'm thinking that we try to get someone from the inside to help us, like one of the administrators or an acquaintance in the student council, ya know, someone who looks over other students and is close to the teachers and staff members. Maybe they can report back to us when someone acts suspicious.” Boz says to Jian, trying to contemplate a way of making this entire mission easier.
“I only wish it was that easy.... If we ask someone to keep an eye on the other students for us for the reasons that we have, they would probably get extremely suspicious and turn us in for questioning by the police, and we don't need that at all! We need to think of something else that we can do to survey people, but until then, we just need to keep an eye out ourselves and question suspicious individuals alone.”
“Wait a minute... don't you remember the third riddle? The one about there being four at the beginning and seven in the end? Maybe one of the other people that gets dragged into this is a member in the student council? If that's the case, then we might have a better shot at finding the culprit!” Boz says in exasperation, hoping that his theory is correct.
“I doubt Sin would allow anyone under him to help us out, even if they could slip their involvement past him. Our chances of them helping us are slim to none. For now, it looks like we have to keep a watchful eye all by ourselves....” Jian says in a low voice.
“Ah well, let's get our worries off of the case for a second and talk about something else! Did you hear about that beat down yesterday over in the market district? Apparently a Sigil head tried to stab a child and this guy in a black cape and hood flew in and saved the day. They're calling him 'The Dusk Avenger' and he's being called a hero by some of the people around town!” Boz says with a sense of admiration in his voice.

“It helps to know that us and the JB aren't fighting the Sigil heads alone, at least.... I'm going to see if I can find a video of him online, I'm sure someone was taping the whole incident. Meanwhile, you can sit down and have some chips I stored under my bed.” Jian says, pointing his thumb over his shoulder at the bed that usually sleeps in.
Boz lets out a happy snicker and starts searching underneath of Jian's bed for the chips that he was talking about. Soon enough, he finds the small pile of potato chip bags that Jian had been keeping since the summer started. He takes out one of the bags and sits down on Jian's bed as Jian fumbles through internet sites in search of this so-called 'Dusk Avenger'.
After not too long, Jian calls Boz over to his desk and points to the screen while saying that he found the video. They watch the screen for a few minutes as the fight that Boz had told Jian about unfolds in front of their eyes.
They both have no idea who this mysterious person is, but it still helps settle their hearts when they find out that this isn't their fight alone, Raphael's group aside.
Jian and Boz spend the rest of the time doing menial things, like tossing a small ball back and forth or just talking to each other. Before they know it, nighttime is drawing near. Since mandated curfews come up around eight o' clock and students must stay in their bedrooms during that time, Boz has to leave Jian in his room, and thus he exits the room with a wave goodbye. Jian says goodnight to him as he shuts the door and is then left alone once again.
Jian does a few things on his computer after Boz had left, searching through the websites on his internet browser and looking up articles online. He lets out a yawn after about a half an hour of surfing through the web and decides that he should head to sleep. He turns off his computer, along with the room's lights a few seconds later and then lays down on his bed, eager to see what tomorrow has in store for him....
Outside of the dormitories and in front of the school's gates, the night patrol of policemen are sitting by the front gates, one of them reading a newspaper underneath of an overhead light and the other sipping some coffee.
The policemen reading the newspaper looks up and sees a five foot tall, obviously female individual in a brown cloak walking towards the gates. He gets up and says “Hey! No one's allowed in past eight o' clock! Go back-!”
The cloaked girl cuts him off by saying “Get inside the gates and shut them behind me! We don't have much time....” Before the policemen can respond, the cloaked girl yells “Look!” and throws a hand scythe out from her cloak over top of the policemen and into someone trying to get into the male dormitories through a second story window, the body falling to the ground moments later.
Right after the cloaked girl throws her hand scythe, the two policemen both have their firearms out and aimed at her. They both scream many things at her, but they mainly refer to her putting her hands in the air and getting on the ground.
She laughs under her cloak hood and says “Fuck no! I'm a free woman!” before using her telekinesis to pull the two pistols out of the policemen's hands. As the police officers stare in wonder, she extends her arms to both her left and right and fires at two more Sigil heads that are just coming into view over the street light, hitting them both in the side of the head. After they both drop down, she moves the guns in front of her and fires through the gate at two more hostiles that were running towards her.
She looks back and forth around the area, but it seems that everything has gone quiet. She empties the two pistol's cartridges and then places the guns down on the ground before giving the two men a salute and rushing behind her into the shadows of the night.
The policemen look back at each other, both of them stupefied over what had just happened. One of them speaks up after a while. “We can't just leave our service arms on the ground....” The other cop gives him a nod and they both walk over to pick up their firearms.
The policemen call in the shooting and they spend the rest of the night trying to figure out what had just happened. They also tell the police commissioner that all units should be on the lookout for the five foot tall, cloaked girl who killed these people.
