I like to attach songs to characters, I can't always find the best song for the character but nontheless I try. Today I will name the songs which I attached to some of the characters.
Seresa: These Boot Are Made For Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra
The song is quite charming I think it fits her playful and sly nature quite well. If she really were in a relationship, you can bet she could get her partner to give her what she wants without him ever noticing. Seresa is a unqiue charcter to me that I haven't been able to show enough of. I want to give her a shining moment like many of the characters in the story. I just haven't been able to devolop them yet.
Sia: The Pretender by The Foo Fighters
Sia was a bit difficult to find a good song that matches her but I finally setteled with the Preteneder even though I don't think its the perfect song for her. This song in particular partially matches her peronslity and a bit of her back story that has yet to be revealed. As of now I've written more about her peaceful side but once we get to her bacstory, I hope to show more of who she is and why she is.
Terra: Punching Bag by Cage The Elephant
Terra's song is a bit more on the nose. She experienced a bad romantic relationship when she was rather young and it has haunted her ever since. She wants revenge and hates all mortals not just humans. I haven't shown much of her quite yet but I'm sure people will like her character a bit more when they learn more about her.
Stolen novel; please report.
Eveline: Like A Vampire by Catrien Maxwell
When I write charcters I don't always have everything in mind for their character, I just write words and their personlity appears. I basically have guidlines in my head that I allow my mind to write to paper. Eveline started out a bit differtntly when I first thought of her, which believe it or not, was at the begining of the story, she was one of the first characters I had in mind along with Sia. She is elegant and beautiful with a touch of insanity. This is because of her history and because what had happened to her shortly before meeting our main cast.
These songs are meant to repesent the strongest aspects of their personlity, not the entierty of it. Which is why Scitus gets two songs.
one for the beginning of the story and one for right now.
Scitus (begining): Cold Cold Cold by Cage The Elephant
Scitus was dead inside at the begining of the story, his life completly revolved around playing Kingdom Domination. when he beat the game, he was contemplating suicide, he really had nothing. this song I think works well in explaing his state of mind.
Scitus (Current): Beautiful Times by Owl City
as time as gone on and has gotten to know the monsters, he has gotten better, he truly cares about his citzens and wants to uplift them though he knows it won't be easy, at the same time he feels that there are dark clouds looming over him and his people. He won't allow them to suffer again, no matter the consequences.
the last song is a not about a character but rather the entire kingdom, if this story ever got a show, I would want this to be the intro song.
Theme song: Through Fire And Flames by Dragon Force
this I think repesents how the people in Scitus's kingdom feel as whole, They will fight on until they can fly free and break the cages that the world has made for them. They will no longer live in fear, they will no longer cower, they will rise and meet their enemies in battle until they have earned the respect of the world and be allowed to exist as a kingdom once more.
