Chapter 46: Encounter
Scitus quickly cast a healing spell on his arm. He felt some regret that he had killed the vampire but he wouldn't have changed his decision if he could. The Fairies had revealed the vampire's location but they also spoke of a different figure deeper in Oasis. A large spider that lived near the Godless territory. The godless lived a few days travel from Scitus but rarely left their territory, this was because all parts of the Oasis were owned by some species or groups of species, they were like miniature countries with indistinct borders. The Oasis was comprised of thirty-six territories, not including scitus's kingdom. When Scitus arrived, Many moved their homes closer to him for it was safer near him. this was the main reason no one from the nearby territories had attacked him, they knew his significance and they knew this because of where he set his home.
Scitus had unwittingly settled on the border of the forbidden territory and Minotaur territory. The minotaur’s at that time had been dealing with a traitor which Scitus managed to stop and no one ever entered the forbidden territories, they were considered toxic but Scitus had dissipated some of it from the surroundings and eliminated it completely from his territory.
The elven that lived near Scitus were also unaware of the corrupting force, they had only entered a decade prior and were still unfamiliar with all of the domains. There were other dark elf tribes but Sia informed them that they were on the opposite side of the Trinity mountains and near the Olkan dessert.
The travel was hard on Scitus but he desired to Explore the oasis and understand its mysteries and more importantly, its people. His guard was ever vigilant and would protect him from any unexpected attacks during the night from wild animals who had been corrupted. Scitus found it troubling that so many corrupted animals existed but he couldn't do much to help. Time went on and they reached the godless territory, it was smaller compared to the other territories, but monsters rarely dared to enter. Of all territories, monsters were most wary of the godless territory for they held no mercy for any monster. They godless territory bordered the forbidden zone and the goblin and kobold territories for this reason. They were buffers so that the more intelligent and stronger monsters wouldn't accidentally cross paths with the godless. The godless were comfortable with this for this had allowed them minimal casualties over the years. Their sense of safety, however, was shattered with the birth of Scitus who lived so close to them.
As soon as Scitus approached their domain, he felt his mana suddenly weaken. Sia had explained that there were ways to combat mana depletion in dead zones but they were difficult to perform and required great skill. This was not a problem for most of the godless who were elites from their respective countries.
The goblins that accompanied him were in a worse state. Robin was visibly strained at William was trying to hide his pain with a smile.
Fortunately for them, Scitus was still leaking mana since his mana capacity still hadn't reached its lowest point. This allowed rich mana to permeate the air for a few seconds everywhere he went. The Goblins walked a bit closer to Scitus after entering the dead zone and regained some of their strength.
To most monster’s dead zones were not great places to be but for humans who did not rely as heavily on mana for their existence could survive just fine. It was like an invisible fortress for them that even gods would have trouble attacking.
Scitus was undeterred at the might of this natural phenomena and searched for the godless kingdom.
An hour into his search he was approached by several men with all types of armor and weapons. They looked ready to attack. The two parties eyed one another before commencing their battle.
The spartan knights jumped head first and parried their opponents excellently but the enemy of six men had years of experience ahead of them and easily refocused their attacks before the Spartans could even counter attack. The Spartans were on the defensive as they felt the immense weight of their opponents' attacks, even after being strengthened by several of Scitus's spells, they were still no match for six of the godless soldiers. Unlike before, these soldiers were not injured or malnourished, these were true godless soldiers and were only the common soldier. Soldiers like Kaya and Selene could easily decimate the six enhanced goblins. however, "Gah!!!" one soldier screamed as he felt his side being stabbed by a sharp dagger. Despite their immense strength, most were not trained in countering assassinations which allowed the assassin knights to easily hide their presence with their special skills and attacked at the moment in which the soldiers were most distracted.

Though the tide was growing in favor of Scitus's guard, he calculated that they would still lose. His soldiers were quickly growing tired while his opponents had only gained momentum.
Robin dashed towards one of the Knights sides only to be unexpectedly kicked by a nearby knight. The knights were slowly forming a rhythm that far outmatched that of the two units. Robin and William looked in envy as they had thought they reached the peak of coordination but the six knights, even without telepathic communication, had such a strong sense of uniformity that they were almost like cogs in a much greater machine. Each soldier watched for the weakness of another and sacrificed themselves when another would make a mistake. They managed to control the damage they were taking allowing them to fight for much longer. At this moment the two units realized that even if they could compete on even terms with the six knights, they would still likely lose.
The twelve goblins retreated behind Scitus and waited for further instruction. Scitus had expected some sort of battle to ensue and had used the opportunity to train his soldiers and so, in turn, they could use it to train the others.
Scitus made a small near invisible grin as the six soldiers approached.
"you…" they had only seen the goblins and hadn't realized that the taller one was a human. the six men who were brave with puffed chests only a moment ago began to falter and took several steps back. "I should have noticed those goblins were far from average." One man said. Another was smiling and said, "I thought I grew weaker after being in bed for too long."
“shut up!!!” the smallest of the men said as he eyed Scitus. He was most certainly the god of the kingdom of monsters and they couldn’t rashly attack him for Kaya had already told them of his incredible abilities.
“what do you want.” The smaller man shouted from some distance. “I’m here to make a diplomatic treaty.”
Scitus did not inform anyone from his kingdom that he would be doing this but not out of distrust. He simply decided to make one while he was there in person. He wanted to open a pathway for Hera help him, she was more familiar with political negotiations than Scitus but showing himself in person was a great chip, it showed he did not fear them and that he was willing to speak to them in person.
The young man in front of Scitus, however, did not see Scitus's intentions and assumed he planned some other nefarious project. They had heard rumors of Scitus's cunning from those of nearby regions. This was in part due to Hera who had been spreading hearsay around the oasis to sir fear In Scitus. Sia had contributed to this rumor by simply allying herself with Scitus. Sia had always been seen as a natural disaster but she, who was once thought to be an untamable fire, had not only allied herself with Scitus but among the Lamia and medusa, there were rumors that she was romantically involved with Sia. This rumor was of course started by Hera who did not wish for her father to be pestered by the advances of the lamia or Medusa.
Some would still try to seduce her father but Sia was a very powerful deterrent.
Hera had explained this to Scitus but he failed to understand the full scope of her manipulation. To the people of the Oasis, Scitus had become A powerful god who had seduced the red witch and the god who managed to unite the lamia and Medusa after a thousand year blood feud and only a prior united the Goblin and kobold tribes who had a similar blood feud, all without spilling a single drop of blood. He had made successful trade negotiations with the Duergar who were notorious for their indifference of the outside. Finally, and just impressive was their alliance with the harpies, a species known for their fickle nature; Scitus had actually made a deal with such monsters. Many of these accomplishments were made by more than just Scitus but Hera had made sure to imply that Scitus was the mastermind behind all of it when in truth he had mostly been practicing magic and dealing with internal affairs at the time.
Now all these rumors had caused the people of the godless kingdom to be cautious of him. He was powerful and intelligent, they couldn’t easily allow him to enter their fortress.
"if you are so cautious, that is fine, Bring a diplomat to speak with me." Scitus finally broke the long silence. The smaller man nodded and sent one of his units to go out and search for a bigger party.
In only an hour a large group, perhaps thousands of soldiers stormed that small plain, all of them wore incredible armor and powerful weapons that were the envy of many kingdoms.
The sword of Goliath, the seraph spear, Agnos's helm, and other legendary equipment was spread all around. Their majesty was all lost on Scitus who had no knowledge of their history nor their power but he certainly sensed their auras which chilled him to his core. He understood they held some great power but couldn't comprehend what they were truly capable of.
At the center of a large convoy of heavily armored soldiers was a young man with beautiful blond hair and deep brown eyes that would charm any ordinary woman. His name was Azias, one of the seven leaders of the godless and also the third strongest warrior in the godless domain. He wielded a large black sword that was equal in size to an ordinary human. the sword was known as the Demasak sword, a sword once held by a legendary demon slayer named Armat.
"your majesty, I think it would be best to go." Robin spoke in a calm voice as if indifferent to the massive force approaching them. Robin had the utmost confidence Scitus and knew that Scitus was not foolish enough to be tricked by a common soldier, it only made sense to him that Scitus had some way out of their predicament.
Scitus made a near invisible grin and whispered the words,
“reveal status”
