Chapter 32: The Minotaurs And The Fairies
Extinguish!!” casting her extinguish spell, the flames consuming the city dissipate in an instant, leaving behind only the ashes of wooden buildings and objects.
"Elf girl is here." She said with a look of having tasted something awful. She wasn't too fond of elves, partially from her time in Miar's Kingdom.
"What's g.." she was only halfway finished with her sentence when an ogre, the only one left, beside her began to roar "RAHH!!!!!!" Somehow the Ogre managed to hold its breath. The elf stopped, Scitus could see her trembling. The ogre raised its fist into the air and then slammed it into Sia, but she didn't even pay it any mind, she simply rose a single dainty hand and stopped the fist in its tracks.
"I could've stopped all of them with a single spell you know." She smiled as she whispered the words, "chains." Suddenly large chains sprouted from the ground tangling the hundred ogres with ease. The ogre, that remained, roared as his enormous body was forced to the ground by the single spell.
"yes, and you would have lorded that over me until I did for you some preposterous favor. Though in the end, I guess you did all the work." Her smile didn't 't have a hint of disappearing. "you know me so well. I'll begin curing them. oh, and of course you'll have to teach me about bacteria some more." Scitus doesn't turn to look at her, his body still hurt and he didn't want to grovel for her help, he had to wait a few more seconds for the healing to kick in. Scitus was glad that all she wanted was to learn about microorganisms. He knew she would want to learn something else soon, she was the type that only wanted a gist and then moves on, with the exception of things she truly enjoyed; he knew because he was the same.
A black aura encompasses the entire population, healing all the injured goblins and scitus himself. He finally relaxed his body as the pain subsides. Though he still felt sore from his exercise regimen. Exercise is still painful to him even after healing, his hypothesis was that it was partially psychological and partially to allow muscle growth. If the muscle is healed through magic it returns to its previous state, preventing muscle growth.
"what is it elf." Scitus was the first to break the silence between the two. "Minotaurs are heading this way. They passed by our village and." Scitus puts a hand to stop her speech, he searches the forest and sure enough, he sees them approaching. Some of the 50 minotaur's are heavily injured but most looked completely fine. There were 250 people in the elf's village, his heart began to beat more rapidly as he searched for the elf village to find a bloody massacre. Scitus quickly turned his vision off not wanting to see the corpses any longer.
“Did you check to see if my people..” he doesn’t let her finish, “they are all dead.” Sia’s ears twitch for a moment before turning back to the ogres. The elf girl falls to her knees as tears began to wet the grass beneath her. She stared in a direction with no important significance and silently cried.
"I'm done." Sia walked back to Scitus, she was covered in a black aura, this was because she needed more mana than she had, to completely heal the minds of the ogres and undo their bindings to the drow. normally she would have enough mana but she was poor at converting her mana to erase curses, or at least that is what she told Scitus, she wanted to confirm something. "Wow, no delicacy." She said jokingly, but her unending smug smile had, for once, faded. "at least she didn't have to witness it." Sia stopped for a moment, she understood what he meant by those words and silently agreed.
"Well, we can always bring them back to life right, haha" She was back to her normal attitude.
“This is no time for jokes, they’ll probably be here in 30 minutes.”
“Wait, is that possible, can we bring them back to life.” The elf’s mind returned to reality as soon as she heard those words. Sia looked at her with an uncomfortable gaze, the elf knew what it meant but ignored it, she wanted to cherish the possibility for a bit longer.
“we can’t not unless we have the mana of 1000 people and that is only enough to bring back a part of them, not all of them.” Scitus’s ears twitch.
“Revival of the dead is possible?” he had already turned to her, his gaze told her that she shouldn’t mince words.
"yes but like I said, you need a hell of a lot of people or have a huge chunk of mana yourself. Then there is the fact that the stronger the person is the more it takes to revive them"
“I have a lot of mana.” The elf perked her ears up, she wiped her tears and stared at Scitus, she looked at him with eyes filled with hope.
“You’re a low tier god, that’s why your aura is black..” she stops, the mana test she gave him exceeded her expectations, “How did you get the book of gods?”
"I went through the cave and the lady there said some strange things before disappearing." "are you telling me you met a true god!!" she ran towards Scitus and grabbed hold of his shoulders, her face was burning a different shade of red than normal. She was excited.
"but you did have the book, your probably, mngm, then that means" she spoke with half thought out sentences confusing both Scitus in the elf. "Bloody hell, I think I've just hit the jackpot, that also explains the fairies." Scitus looks at her with a concerned look in his eyes. "fairies?" he asked with a small shift of his gaze to the left and right.
“you don’t know?” Sia looked at him completely befuddled how could he not know, they were literally helping him in the battle against the ogres.
“the fairies worship you.” Scitus lets out a strange keha sound. “they haven’t joined my population.” Sia smiles and shakes her head.
"That's because.." suddenly a loud rumbling shakes the ground beneath them. "Shit, they're here." Sia said with a small smile. "Don't worry, I'll protect ya." She patted Scitus's chest with the back of her hand then put herself in a stance reminiscent of a sumo wrestler, though with far more elegance, her hands instantly lit on fire. Scitus couldn't decline this time, the Minotaurs were a force that annihilated an entire village of dark elves.

The minotaurs sprinted forward. their minds seemed to be worse shape than the sleeping ogres whose wounds had already been completely healed.
“stay back for now.” Scitus ordered his people to remain hidden in the forest.
“HAHA, PREPARE TO DIE!!” A single minotaur in a sea of wrath shouted with conscious thought.
"SUN TORCH!! " With a single hand, Sia emitted a fire so powerful it rivaled Scitus's attack on the beehive. In mere moments 30 meters sized cone of grassland, lay completely torched. Scitus turned from the fire to Sia, who he saw smiling from ear to ear, "blood witch" the elf murmured.
"HAHA, the red witch is with you!! That won't make a difference!!" The minotaur shouted arrogantly as nearly all the minotaur's escaped the scorching flames unharmed.
Sia clicked her tongue, the Minotaurs were being protected by fire-resistant magic, stronger than Scitus's.
"then how about this." She composed herself and smiled. "Erosion!!" The ground beneath the minotaurs began to sink. "dammit!" the leader angrily shouted before casting a spell of his own. "Raise earth!!" A spellcaster? Thought Sia but as she waited for the spell to take effect.
"Huh?" the minotaur and Sia said in near perfect unison.
"Well, whatever." Sia flew to above the hole she created, she had to move quickly or it would become annoying for her. "Time to die."
"Stop!!!" before Sia can cast another spell, a small dainty creature flies in front of her. The creature couldn't have been larger than a few inches, it wore clothes made of small bits leaf, its brown hair reached its shoulder. The small creature's eyes were an emerald green that one could say were almost sparkling. Despite its feminine features and voice, Sia identified the creature as male, from its posture and demeanor.
“Shoo, little fairy, I’ve been dying to light something on fire.” Her Demon blood was boiling from the excitement of getting to show off in front of someone. This was the first time she could ever do something like this and she feared it would be the last, after all, most people were terrified of her. Her show of power wasn’t something to be mesmerized by, but rather it was something to fear.
“NOPE!! NOPE!! It’s our turn to gain the gods favor.” The small fairy took out its needle sword out, it was certainly something picked from a prickly fruit of some kind.” What are ya gonna do? Poke my eye out?” Sia said as she swatted the dainty creature with the back of her left hand.
While Sia was busy arguing with the fairy above, the hundreds of fairies below began casting their magic down below.
"DAMN FAIRIES!!" The minotaur began swatting the fairies left and right, as many as he could hope to swat, but the little creatures were simply too quick on their feet, they easily dodge the massive creatures hits. One fairy, in particular, stuck her tongue out and blew several raspberries in the Minotaur's general direction.
"THAT'S IT!! EXPLOSION!!!" But nothing happened, the Minotaur already knew why, it was the reason why Fairies were a terrifying existence to magic casters. Fairies are beings that have an incredibly close connection to Mana, that is to say, they cannot exist in areas with no mana because most of their body is made of it and because of this, they have a high control of mana, one of their many terrifying abilities, [Anti magic field] Prevents any spell being cast in the area, for as long as the fairies have enough mana to counter the spell.
"Fine, I'll let you handle this, but you owe me." The small creature scrunches its nose and points its head upward as if to say, fine!!
Sia smiled as she saw the sight below her, one by one the minotaur's influenced by the corruption magic were falling to the ground, normally there would be no possible way that the fairies could defeat the minotaur's, but Fairies, because of their close connection to mana, were able to easily undo the corruption that had overtaken their bodies. The unbinding subsequently, weakened the Minotaurs to the point of Collapse.
All Sia had to deal with was the one minotaur.
Sia lowered her body to the sinkhole she created, all that was left was the minotaur who led the mindless to Scitus.
"Oh, it seems you've been defeated by fairies." She mocked him because she knew that Fairies shouldn't be able to overtake a mass of minotaurs like they did.
"Red Witch." The bull-headed man looked at Sia with contempt. His arms were full of thick unruly brown fur, and at the end of it lay humanlike hands, though a lot burlier than normal, large black claws lay at the end of his fingertips. Its chest was larger in proportion his legs which were massive in their own right.
"I have the advantage in this fight, witch" The minotaur raised his snout upward, he looked down on Sia, who was already few feet smaller than him. His eyes sharpened, he was going to attack, Sia could see it on his face. The Minotaur bared his sharpened teeth given to him not by birth but by corruption.
The Minotaur swiped his right leg on the ground below him, raising dust as he did so. Sia watched him with a look of fascination and a scornful smile. The Minotaur's eyes blaze red for a moment and he charges towards Sia, who didn't even attempt to move. The minotaur lowered his head and pointed his horns at Sia, he felt the breeze in his fur, he felt a slight regret that he wouldn't see her body being torn to shreds by his horns.
“DIE!!!” He said the moment he felt his horns touch its target, then his legs unwillingly halted by the massive wall before him. He tries to look up, but something was grabbing on to his horns, he couldn’t move, it’s was as if a giant was holding onto his horns.
"Nice try." She said in a mocking tone. Sia, suddenly feels eyes watching her, he turns her head to the edge of the crater she created. There stood scitus, looking down at her, she couldn't tell what his near-expressionless face was thinking, he only ever looked to show two emotions, anger and seriousness. He stared at her with such intensity that she felt a squeamish feeling turn her stomach, an uncomfortable feeling as if she was in a show and was about to be judged. This emotion quickly subsided, and she turned back to the Minotaur. Her regally arrogant smile returned.
“You’re probably thinking how I stopped you.” This was exactly what the Minotaur was thinking, how could such a small being stop his massive body.
"That's a simple thing that you should know if you're a magic caster. Or a strong soldier at least" She softly shook her head from side to side, pretending to be disappointed. "How disappointing," She said as she lifted the massive 400-pound creature with a single hand. The minotaur began to sweat under his fur. He knew the red witch was a powerful being, but he thought he had surpassed her he thought that people were too weary of her, that she wasn’t as strong as the rumors said. Now seeing her, after losing so quickly in a fight of strength, he began to fear that the rumors he heard of her were understated.
Before he can scream, Sia slams his body onto the ground, she then slowly lifts his body again, just to slam it on to the ground again. It only took the Minotaur two meetings with the floor, for his legs and arms to be broken, he thought he could protect self by using his arms and legs, he was wrong. Now all that was left, were half twisted legs turned backward and sharp bones protruding from his arms. , the minotaur wasn't one to scream and he wasn't going to yield even knowing his death was imminent. Then with the crack, he fell to the floor, with fractured horn now adorning his skull.
“Oops.” Sia said half giggling.
“Don’t kill him, I need to question him.” She clicked her tongue as she turned her head just enough to allow her left eye to meet his.
"Fine, but you owe me." She said with a small smile. Something she had grown accustomed to saying to Scitus, because of this Scitus felt that it was a joke, she didn't intend to charge him for sparing the Minotaurs life. Though he knew he would be charged for stopping the Minotaur.
That's why I didn't want to ask for your help, Scitus thought to himself but shook his head knowing that he had no real choice and that he at least reduced the size of the favor by preventing her from doing everything.
