Chapter 31: Phase 2
The situation appeared grim, the army was beaten and bruised, a few soldiers had to be carried by the Moon knights do to their broken limbs, the Drow felt his victory near, though he didn't know that Scitus wasn't planning to defeat the ogres head-on, everything was going according to his plans.
The ogres run towards the walls at full sprint now that the goblins have fled into the city walls. The drow was salivating with excitement, the city would soon be destroyed. His excitement was short lived however, the ogres ran not twenty feet before they began tripping over each other, soon enough a small hill made of ogres appears before the drow. Scitus had ordered potholes to be dug all over the battlefield before it had even started. He knew that the Drow wouldn't see them and he knew the ogres didn't have the ability to be conscious of them, like flies to a trap their legs stumble on uneven ground causing their massive bodies to hit the floor with a thud. This attack hurt the oldest ogres the most, their legs were already rended flesh and the massive collapse bruised their injuries further, Rey had not participated in the battle, for this reason, Scitus knew he would have become too emotional. The youngest ogres were nearly completely fine, this is in part due to their small wounds, many of the goblins had moral problems hurting children so most of them slammed them with shields towards the older ogres. This cost the goblins some soldiers, some of the most beaten soldiers were in such a state because of their discomfort of attacking children.
The Drow gnashed his teeth ”FOOLS!! You think stalling me will prevent your deaths!!” the ogres crawl on hand and feet towards the cities walls, mindlessly, they pounded against them, weakly at first, but soon they rose to their feet. The walls creaked and stretched as if the wood was screaming for mercy. The Drow yelped, unable to contain his excitement. His eyes were seemingly bulging out of their sockets, they had turned a scarlet red from his use of corrupted power His twisted smile, similarly, was unrecognizable to the handsome man he once was, now what lay were his contorted fanged teeth, showing themselves despite his lips attempts to hide them. His transformation into something else had already begun, the stench that spewed from his body was reminiscent of corrupted monsters, a stench so foul that it drained the nearby fauna of their will to stand.
The power that he thirsts for and the power that he received would be his downfall, his sanity was being gnawed away and it was because of this, that he didn't notice the spartan unit closing in on his location. They watched him in his delirium while they waited for their king's order
The ogres ferociously pounded at the mighty walls, they shake underneath the strength of the hundred ogres, they plead for the ogres to stop but finally, the screaming stops and the walls collapse, in a way it felt almost intentional, and in truth it was. The walls mocked the ogres above them, they were made to collapse the way they did, it was built large enough for the ogres to enter, the drow didn't notice, but soon the 2 other 50ft sections of the wall collapsed, of course, they had their supports were removed by the goblins.
There, near the collapsed walls, was only 2 people left, Scitus and Sia.
"Fire resistance." Scitus uttered these words and a powerful black covered the ogres and a few fleeing goblins. The drow thought that it was his own aura, he smiled to himself thinking that he had gotten stronger. Then his smile disappeared to make a frown and the frown transformed itself into fear.
"Sun touch." Sia whispered these words and as she did her chest began to glow a powerful red, the red aura grew until it covered her entire body and in a matter of seconds, the entire city was covered in a red flame. The houses that had only recently been completed, burned and soon disintegrated into ash, the tents burned to a crisp and near instantly disappeared from the face of the world. The wooden walls surrounding the city slowly burned as their designer looked at them with pride.

The ogres' skin burned hot and they felt their skin peel, but their pain wasn't nearly as intense as it should have been. Scitus turned to face the ogres and looked at his own flesh, it was reddened from the intense heat, it hurt, it was perhaps the most intense pain he had ever felt, even so, he stood tall, making sure to show the woman beside him that would not break in fear in front of her might.
Sia smiled as she looked at the man beside her, she had a hint of respect in her eyes as she watched him burn.
"we only have few seconds before we run out of oxygen, not that its problem for me," Scitus said, remembering that he no longer required sleep food, or even oxygen, his body produced this stuff on its own and for this reason whenever he spoke, it appeared as if he was spewing fire.
"I specialize in fire magic and I am half fire demon, this isn't much to me." she said smiling as if to say that I am still superior.
The drow fell his knees, he had been tricked, the Blood witch was still in the city, but why did she torch it to the ground. Did they anger her? Hundreds of thoughts filled his head but all of them reached the same end.
“run, I NEED TO RUN!!!” He lifted his trembling legs off the ground and began his sprint only to encounter William and his unit ten feet in front of him.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!! YOUR CITY JUST GOT TORCHED TO THE GROUND!!!” He yelled as if they could they understand him. He turned around, wanting to conserve his strength to run. But behind him was the Assassin Unit.
"My, you've caused us quite a bit of trouble" His ears perked up as he heard the human tongue, he turned his head to see a human woman, or so he thought. She had long black hair the reached just below her shoulders, she wore square rimmed glasses that to him appeared useless.
“Who!!” he needed to get away, there wasn’t much time left.
"EXPLOSION!!!" HE shouted these words and as he did the area around him exploded with flash, the radius was 3 meters while he is at its epicenter. He smiled to himself thinking that the goblins who dared oppose him to were all fools.
"oops did you actually think you killed us." His ears turned to the direction of the sound. He couldn't see the woman because the dust had yet to settle but this didn't stop him from casting another spell. "LIGHTING!!" he extended his hands towards the direction of the sound and electricity sparked from his fingertips before flying off into the direction his hand pointed to.
He smiled again, as the sweat on his forehead slowly dripped on his clothes. Then his heart sunk. "I'm sorry to say but you missed." The sound came from the opposite direction, he shot another lightning bolt only to hear a mocking laughter. He cast spells one by one, not knowing why he couldn't hit her no matter how hard he tried. It took several minutes but his mana was completely expended because of reckless use of it. He had to much pride to run from the weak, or perhaps he was too scared to think correctly
"Oh you're finally out, good thing you're an idiot or this might have been harder." His knees fall to the floor, his mind was hazy, he should have become stronger from the corruption, why did he feel weaker, before he can come up with an appropriate answer to his question he felt a warm sensation coming down from his chest. He looks to see a steel dagger piercing his chest. He turns to see William looking at him with disdain, William pulls it out and the Drow jolts as he feels his blood leave him. Though it wasn't pain he felt, it was a warm feeling as if it beckoned him to sleep.
“no..” His eyes grew heavy, his mind began to leave him and finally, while still on his knees, he fell asleep.
“Good job guys.” Hera said with a chipper smile.
"No, you did most of the work great goddess" The two teams stared at her in fear of her abilities, the ability to trick someone that she was actually there.
"Nah, I only came to help like father told me to, haha."She was the fault safe, she and her brother at the cost a portion of their bodies could trick others by making a hologram. Her body glowed black, the battle was over and her body was recovering. In the end, she was only person necessary to deal with the drow. The 12 goblins who witnessed her might, had a new found respect for her and her brother.
