Chapter 34: Slayn
With the business with his subjects done he moved to the fairies; who at that time were swirling and making specific patterns in the air, it was like a kind of dance. This dance, in particular, was to celebrate a new age. Though he did not know this at the time. One small fairy noticed him and flew closer to him a foot or so from Scitus’s face. The small creature appeared to be female but Scitus had the feeling it was male/ his clothes were made of a single leaf, that rapped around his body like a sort of shirt, likewise he wore leaf pants and hat. At his side rested a single long thorn from a prickly plant forged and then strengthened by the fairies.
“Hello Great Elder” Scitus tilted his head to one side. “Ah yes, I was informed by our king that you have only just arrived. I come as an emissary from our great king.” Emissary? Thought Scitus, wondering why fairies had emissaries, much less a king. “we would like to form an accord with you Great Elder.” The small creature continued, with a much more serious tone than he had with Sia. Scitus gestured the fairy to continue. “in exchange for allowing us to live in the world tree, we wi..” The fairy suddenly stops, suddenly noticing Scitus’s baffled expression. “world tree?”Scitus asks, almost with a slight concern. “Yes, the World tree created by the seed that you brought from your homeworld." The seed!! He remembered that he had dropped it. He didn't think that it would suddenly sprout into a tree, it had only been 3 months since his arrival. Scitus decided that he would think of what to do with the tree some other time. Scitus nodded for the fairy to continue. "yes," The fairy politely bowed its head before continuing, "In exchange, we shall aid you whenever you request it, with the exception of the holy days that happen thrice a year. But please, this comes from me, not my king. Be prudent and do not abuse our kindness." Scitus thoughtfully constructed his words, he had to speak in a way that wouldn't insult their king or the other fairies but he also needed to be forceful, in this case, he had the upper hand since they had made the request and they wished to live in a place that was essentially his possession.
"I'll allow it, for the time being, tell your king this, I'll allow this deal to last for 3 months, and in three months time I’ll look at the details once more and consider their worth and at that time your king and I can make a more favorable deal for both parties.” Requesting the aid of fairies was a huge plus, but Scitus didn't know the value that he was trading with them, so he had to consult Sia for that. though denying them the deal would surely cause angst with the fairies and they would lose their aid if their help is required. The anti-magic field specifically was worth the risk of allowing them to live in the tree temporarily.
The fairy nodded cutely, tightening his lips, and furrowing his brow in an attempt to be serious. “hm, hm” he made a sound to show his approval of his suggestion. “I’ll take this information to my king right away, we will leave two of our soldiers here, they shall relay information to you from our king and will be your way of requesting our help, and with that, I bid you farewell." The fairies gave Scitus a deep bow and recalled his forces, before long they were dancing happily, disappearing deeper into the forest.
The next state of business was the drow and the minotaur. Both had been tied to several logs that were going to be used for construction. the drow was still unconscious. The Minotaur, who sat tied beside him, was heavily injured. He couldn’t take him as a prisoner like he could with the drow because he wasn’t defeated by one of his people but rather Sia and the Fairies, regardless, Sia cast countermeasure spells to prevent him from escaping. The Minotaur eyes shook rapidly searching for a single being, the red witch. The restraints and magic cast on him were entirely unnecessary, though Sictus knew this, he was a cautious man.

“Tell me, who are you working under?” Scitus’s barred no emotion on his face, but inside he could feel his heart grow hot with anger. At this point Sia noticed that Scitus’s facial expressions were small, determining his intensity of emotions was difficult if she wanted to gain his favor she would need to know what pleases him, but Scitus had a natural defense against manipulation in this regard.
Scitus had been attacked three times by the same person, he at least wanted to know his enemy.”heh.” The minotaur’ mouth twisted into a smile exuding malicious intent, “Mern” the Minotaur suddenly grew quiet and his body began to tremble. The woman he could never hope to defeat came strolling towards him.
“Do you know who Mern is? Scitus asked Sia, who had now lowered her body into an odd sitting position facing the Minotaur. “yeah, he’s a lesser god bordering the Oasis” She moved her index finger and thumb towards the minotaur’s soft black nose. She squeezed her thumb and finger together and shook the Minotaurs head, playfully mocking the fallen Minotaur. After a few moments of taunting him, she stops, she turns to look at Scitus, her eyes burn with a fiery passion. Scitus could tell she wanted to fight again. “ I didn't think he was making deals with…" She stopped speaking, her face becomes serious for the first time in a long time and before Scitus could react she kicked him in the stomach, he flew several feet back. As he remained in the air he saw in his view a small black ball filled with a horrid black aura flying toward where he stood moments before.
“Oh, and I wanted to end this with that.”
“SLAYN!! HELP ME THIS!!” before he could finish his sentence, the young man clad in a black cloak, and pants, pointed his finger at the minotaur and shot another small black ball. The black ball hits the Minotaur, contorting his body into something twisted, his legs twisted into a spiral, his face changed into that of half Goat half Bull, his horns twisted upward and then downward digging into his skull. His body expanded in muscle mass and tore through his magic and hemp bindings. He drooled as if to show that he no longer had conscious thought. He was no longer a minotaur he had become a corrupted monster known as the Chort.
“RAAH!!!!” The monstrous animal roared only to be sliced in half by a fire blade a moment later. Its body convulsed, unwilling to die despite losing half its body. It groaned and looked at Sia and deep inside him he remembered that he was terrified of her. With her fiendish smile and the hint of pine that followed her, he closed his eyes, knowing that he would die. In the next moment, Sia dug her fire blade into his skull.
“But since you’re here I guess I’ll have to do it the other way.” The man smiled, it was unlike sia's smile. She had a wicked smile with no hint of kindness. The man in front of her had a malevolent Aura to him. He had a twisted bent and oozed a black aura that froze the goblins near him. Despite this Scitus could see that he no longer had the intent to kill him, it disappeared along with the death of the Chort.
Without turning away from Sia, he called to Scitus. “New god, Be present at the meeting of gods on the first of next month, there My king will declare war on you." With that the man known as Slayn vanishing into the thin air.
The man had vanished to the goblins but to Scitus and Sia, he hadn’t moved.
"I can still see you," Sia told Slayn, who by this point began to sweat, he didn’t think that Sia would see through his invisibility. He awkwardly walked out the colony, jumping over the city walls and into the unknown. Scitus thought to himself, “that guy was acting cool wasn’t he?” he stared into the direction that the man had fled, with disappointed eyes.
“Is that a follower of Merns?”scitus had gotten off the ground and began to pat himself down. Sia was surprised at his nonchalant attitude of nearly being assassinated though even she didn’t know if the corruption would hurt Scitus considering his own aura. "Yeah, his name is Slayn.” Sia scratched the back of her neck as if to say, “something annoying just happened.”
“Is he...” before he finishes his sentences, Sia's eyes burn with wrath, he was going to ask her if he was on par with her, but her reaction to his question was answer enough. The man known as Slayn was weaker than Sia, by a lot, enough for Sia to become angry at Scitus’s for doubting in her.
“Sia, I am going to need your help once more.” Sia smiled, “Okay, but you owe me?” her smile was sweet, sweeter than it had been in the past, though Scitus doubted that it was because Sia had grown to like him, no, she was certainly only excited about the coming war, he was half right.
