Mitchell was walking through the forest, not wandering because that would imply she was lost... which she wasn’t!
The day before she was given a job at the adventurer’s office, when she went there a bit bored and very annoyed at Nebel for ignoring her, the job was a simple one, all she has to do is find the hideouts of a few hundred goblins that had escaped and if at all possible wipe them out.
Excited about her mission, Mitchell gathered some supplies. Food, water, a short sword... since she didn’t have any weapon... and a map. Leaving the city she headed into the forest, where the goblins were last seen and started to look around for them.
She looked in clearings and by streams, under the cover of a species of willow that grew thick and all the way to the ground and by the cliff but so far she hadn’t seen a single goblin. Checking her map and looking around she was pretty sure she was in the right area...
Around the late afternoon Mitchell set up camp under the cover of a willow for the night, after setting up a hammock with one side tied to the willow and the other tied with a long rope to another tree, she , made a small fire with a border of rocks she had collected before settling in for the night.
Currently she was searching in the other side of the woods... since she figured out she had strayed a little too far west the other day. Coming into a clearing just about as far from the forest path you could go, without entering the plains, Mitchell smells something cooking. Looking around the clearing she sees a large log at one side of the clearing, not nearly large enough for several hundred goblins but... who knows!
Taking small, careful, steps towards the log, Mitchell slowly slides her short sword out of its sheath and takes her shield off of her back. Ten meters to go, all is well, nine meters to go... she has yet to be noticed, eight mete....
Pitching forwards Mitchell starts falling into a hole, in surprise she opens her mouth wide to yell and thinking better about it shoves her left fist into her mouth to stop herself.
The earth flies by around her and she slowly speeds up, realizing the danger, Mitchell puts away her short sword and grabs her shield with both hands in hasty movements. Turning the large shield horizontally, the shield hits both walls of the pit and starts to gouge out dual lines in the earth.
Putting more force behind her attempt to turn the shield her speed slowly decreases until finally she comes to a stop in near complete darkness.
Looking up she sees a small light in the distance, looking down she sees... nothing, its way to dark below her to see anything. Taking stock of her situation, Mitchell thinks about it oddly calmly.
“I’m good in a crises, i guess...” she mutters as she hangs from the two arm straps of her shield over a void that only humanity’s hive mind, the internet, could possible tell her the depth of.

Having been ditched by Nebel, who apparently went to town to look at some tools and weapons until his next class, Rosa goes to her next job punishment. In one of the libraries, which still has physical books for whatever reason, she is told to bring every recently returned book to their rightful position on the shelves.
Pushing the annoyingly large cart around she goes about her job...
“Soooo boring!!!” she mutters leaning against one of the shelves when she gets out of sight of the head librarian, which was the consensus of both her angel and demon side. “Damn it! Why did I have to drink so much!?”
Looking around idly Rosa sees a few people being taught just outside one of the windows, the angel speaks into her ear in a kind, soothing voice, “You shouldn’t listen to that class, you haven’t paid for it, it’s stealing to listen.” The demon her, whips the angel her, making it howl and cower, it starts purring in a velvety seductive tone while pumping up its breasts, “Screw that Rosa! You need all the power you can get if you want to make that guy you like yours.” Looking from one to the other Rosa makes her decision, pulling her cart along she moves closer to the window and starts to listen in while sort the books on her cart... pretending to work...
“Material manipulation is...” Mole is speaking to his class and Rosa starts to take notes on her display...
After Mole finishes teaching his class, Rosa closes her display window, smiles and with a chuckle says “Ufufufu, I’ll surely be able to empress Nebel with this...!”
“Hey!” the angel says but Rosa ignores it and looks over at the demon her, “Yo Rosa! Get moving or the librarian might find you goofing!” turning around she pushes her cart away from the window and down one of the paths between the shelves. Seeing one of the librarians coming... the angel says “give yourself up, Rosa it’s the just thing to do.” Rosa personally flicks it away “Ditch some of the baggage so she can’t tell!” the demon her counsels, she immediately ditches some of the books and parks her cart in front of them to make it look like she had been working...
The demon her gives her a thumbs up while the angel twitches from a nearby shelf... “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship!” the demon says wiping a tear from her cheek.
The librarian nods to her and she picks the books up once more... no matter where she put them their absences would eventually be noticed so she would still have to return them... “This sucks...”

Bö was singing a song for climbing! Well actually she didn’t know one so she had fallen back on a sea shanty instead...
The actually one doing the climbing was the giant Latino friend of hers but he seemed to enjoy her complete inappropriate and was climbing the mountain diligently. Bö on the other hand was, like usual just sitting on his shoulder, singing and occasionally pointing out a hand hold when he couldn’t see one.
The two of them had passed by the army a few hours previously in a blur compared to the speed of the soldiers, Bö had used a bit of material magic too both completely solidify a floor beneath them and then push it with liquidized earth to move it across the ground.
The resulting speed was just about that of the average twenty first century car’s maximum velocity, which allowed them to reach the mountain pass before Alan’s army could even pass the eastern city.
When they got there they were at a loss for what to do since the pass was blocked and there was no other easy path over the mountain range. As Bö had used up too much magic in the last few days to even have a small chance of manipulating a path over the mountain they had to think of some other way.
Eventually “Bubbles” came up with the plan to just climb it and Bö agreed.
Nearing the half way point, Bö notices a shelf stick out of the Cliffside they were on and “Bubbles” heads towards it. The climb itself was about seventy five percent complete but when they reached the halfway point the only way up they could find was this sheer cliff.
Pulling himself up onto the shelf, “Bubbles” lays himself down to rest, Bö sings him a series of lullabies until she gets bored and looks around.
Looking to the north west which was along one side of the cliff face from them, Bö sees the ruins of a city surrounded by lush fields as far as her eyes can see, to the east Bö sees... more cliff... they hadn’t gotten high enough to see that way yet, looking south Bö sees the army slowly marching around the eastern city, a good portion of its size having been reduced thanks to the proximity to many of the soldiers homes.
Looking up the cliff, Bö sees a raptor wheeling near the top of the cliff and a few birds even higher than that passing by. Looking down... Bö jumps back and flattens herself against the cliff, trembling violently. “Note to self:” Bö says to no one “Don’t look down...”
Sitting down against the cliff face, Bö gradually slows her heart rate with deep breaths trying to calm herself. “I guess I have acrophobia...” her self-analysis wasn’t quite right, since in reality she was really high up and phobias are irrational not rational... and being afraid of heights, while standing on a platform barely large enough for the two of them after looking down into the void below certainly was!
After a little while “Bubbles” gets back to his feet and picks Bö up, placing her on his shoulder her starts climbing once more. After a while he notices that Bö isn’t singing and looks over at her to see her tightly gripping his shoulder. “YOU LOOKED DOWN?” he asks, his rich deep voice giving the illusion that the air is trembling.
Bö nods with tears leaking out of the corners of her eyes; “Bubbles” pats her head, “IT’S BECAUSE YOU LOOKED DOWN, JUST CALM YOURSELF LITTLE ONE. I WILL MAKE SURE YOU DON”T FALL!”
Bö nods and starts to loosen her grip and “Bubbles” smiles at her. Continuing the climb, they quickly reach the top and they take their time to look around before starting their descent, towards the north and east... the only directions they hadn’t been able to see... just like the lands around the eastern city, wastelands spread out all the way to the next mountain range in the distance and incredibly large mining equipment dot the extensive valley.
Looking down at Bö, “Bubbles” smiles and strokes her head, Bö turns her face to look at him and smiles “I’m ok now, let’s go!”
He picks her up once more and Bö having rested enough makes a platform just like before, this time she slowly lowers it down towards the base of the northern side of the cliff by liquidizing the stone wall holding it up. As the platform lowers she and “Bubbles” stand as close to the wall as possible to keep it steady and in no time flat they reach the bottom of the shear part of the mountain range.
They still had a long way to go but this part wasn’t going to be as hard as the others had been...

Having slowly lowered herself bit by bit, Mitchell was amazed, thankful for and freak out to find that the pit into which she had fallen ended only another twenty feet down...
While obviously glad to be on solid ground again she couldn’t help to think about what would have happened if she hadn’t managed to stop her fall in time... it was a game but that was kind of hard to remember when you have just fallen hundreds of feet, had to rely on super human strength to stop yourself and were now stranded in some cave with no light to see by...
Pulling out a lighter, Mitchell lights it and looks around but since she could see much she decides to pull out a stick rapped with some leaves and coated in goblin oils she had made a while back. Thankfully she still had it or else she would have had to use her shirt on her short sword...
Walking carefully Deeper into the cave, Mitchell remembers to mark her path back to the hole ... just in case.
